  1. Twinkiedom? I think I am gonna puke.
  2. All those hard throwing relief picks.... now wasted. But hey, we have been sanchezed!
  3. vegetarian diet causing kidney stones? that is a crock of......
  4. I agree. Thunder thighs. I want to see 50+ round trippers this year..... and he can say "Bite Me" to everyone! And what about Buxton's beard?
  5. Sure, you take what you get. Unless your client is dead, like Elvis, he/she can always disappoint the public, and not show up or be a pill. But make no mistake about it. This is not the days of the Babe. Conditioning and respect for your body matter. Getting fat is not genetics. Never has been, never will be. It is a direct result of how much one choses to put in one's mouth. If your metabolism is slower, or you are inactive, you need way less. Metabolism might be genetics. But getting fat never is. It doesn't mean that one can't be happy fat, but it is not something that one doesn't have a choice about.
  6. My thoughts? Well, Ok. It should be better, I hope. Can't say it excites me. I think Correia, Pelfrey, etc. Still hoping to get excited with the real significant help to the starting rotation. Someone I don't have to try to talk myself, or read others, into pretending he is what he isn't, or just wants to be..... a consensus ace.
  7. I am always amazed at the assumptions that are made, and the twisting of words, and the assignments of something to someone that is just fiction, and someone else's own creation. It must be a projection thing.
  8. I guess you like to be treated like this/that. Corporate history? I don't. Never did. Never will. They are smart enough to know that omission is telling. Sanchez is hardly something that needs played close to their vest, that they don't wear anyway.
  9. Who's bent? You? The statement stands. Not zero.
  10. I don't agree with the they don't "owe" us an explanation as to what they see or are doing. Why not? That kind of attitude by the FO in regards to the fans that make it all work, is disgusting.
  11. Taking a 40 man roster spot is NOT zero risk.
  12. Great article. I also think the defense, as well, was a big contributor. Or maybe he just performs better without the PEDs? Or maybe he has better, sneakier ones now..... naaaaa ..... that was just a blip. I don't think that he is doing that. But it is part of his history. But what kind of a person am I to bring that up? The thing is... once it is in your history, it is in your history.
  13. I thought the expectation was that they would rebound, and get back to their best year performance, not get worse.....
  14. And, Duensing outlived his battery mate at the University of Nebraska, Joba Chamberlain by several productive years, even though Joba was more heralded in his ascent to the Majors. Didn't Duensing start the lose the opener in 2009 and the 3rd and elimination game of the 2010 series against the Yankees (and Phil Hughes)? Anyway... some don't decline so much in their 30's. He is a good guy.
  15. True. He couldn't play, so instead he retired and forfeited the 12 million coming to him in the last year. Don't tell David Wright or Phil Hughes.
  16. I think he should wait a year, so he could be 28 when he graduated.
  17. Well, on the calendar, ever since Pope Gregory XIII, who introduced the Gregorian calendar to replace the inaccuracies of the then used Julian calendar in October 1582, Sunday is the start of a new week (even though it is widely considered the last day of the weekend). I guess one can consider the fiscal week instead, but that is a bit obtuse for this instance, in my mind. I guess I will give compromise and give it 'til midnight.......
  18. Maybe, then, the only decent player ever in the game of baseball was Lyman Bostock. I know I wouldn't be decent, especially since the Twins (and all of MLB) under pay all salaries of all minor league players. Hey, I never liked the pick, especially in the first round, but Stewart gave up the opportunity to be a Division 1 quarterback, on scholarship, get a university education and gave his unreplaceable college age years, to the Twins, and the agreed upon unrefundable carrot was the bonus. There is no indecency in the whole arrangement, in my mind. And the agreement is not for 11 years, when the Twins could unilaterally end the arrangement at anytime, even if Stewart wanted to stay for 11 years.
  19. When a catcher hits like Castro, you have to go elsewhere to give some props and love. I too long for the day that a skill to cheat the balls and strikes from being what they are is not a part of the game. Until then, I hope Castro is the best at the cheat for the next two years.
  20. I would rather just have Cobb. My bet, Lynn is cooked (300 more innings than Cobb), Arrieta had his short peak, and Darvish will be the most regrettable contract of them all. I could care less about one draft pick. (Can you say Kohl Stewart? Or Alex Wimmer, or Levi Michael?) I bet Cobb will be the best pitcher of the bunch for the next 5 years. Darvish would be fine, I just think it would be only valuable for 2 years.
  21. Not quite a Mariano Rivera farewell tour...... but sometimes things end quietly.
  22. Nothing wrong with rose colored glasses. I wear them sometimes, proudly. Had 'em on Sunday. That's...... another something.
  23. A man among boys....... 27 at graduation.
