  1. I have always thought, that when a pitcher causes the unearned runs with his own error, that they should be earned. It was the pitcher that threw the ball... that is his job, and he shouldn't get off the hook for creating all 4 of his own unearned runs that are charged to him.
  2. We only need 6 runs! And the mop up guy is in..... should be a piece of cake.
  3. Duffey is too good for AAA, and can't quite do it in the show. It is Houston, though. He may need to go to Japan to cash in and get rich.
  4. Folks talked like Pineda was going to be a good addition to the starters too. NOT. I'm surprised, with all that off time, he didn't diet some and get rid of the tonage.
  5. Outstanding, eh? I must have drastically different standards for outstanding.
  6. I think they should sign Kimbrel for a ridiculous one year contract, something that doesn't tie us down and really commit, but something he just can't refuse, and then when he is in full form at the deadline, trade high for some midling prospects. He could bring like two or three......you know, the ol' "sell high" thing. It's the thing, you know. We need more midling prospects to plug into our farm that plug right in at about the #15-18 range. And you never know.... one day, sometime, maybe, in the future if they don't get hurt, or stall, or get suspended, or regress..... they could be as good as Kimbrel, and we could bring them up and see if they could be a MLB pitcher. If they prove not ready after that 2 or 3 years, we could just send them down for more seasoning, and then try again. And repeat that process for a couple years..... then maybe...... just maybe............................ And if they don't make it, what the hell..... it was still fun writing and reading about them while they lasted in the minors.
  7. So Castro wanted it in the wheelhouse, with absolutely no movement? I don't think so. Castro didn't throw the pitch there. I'm not betting on him..... weith 5/8 inherieted runners scored so far. But I thought that from the get go, when they announced he had made the roster. I might have prejudice. Like ST counts, eh?
  8. Thank you!!!!! That's what I thought. Even Astudillo isn't hitting much when he plays 3rd. That is atrocious this year for the Twins 3rd base production.... usually a place for real hitting.
  9. Can anyone help me/guide me on how to look up production for a team's position, no matter who plays it.... for instance..... I want to know how the Twins stack up for 3rd base at bats.... and how they compare to other teams 3rd base production... ... what is the stat line for every plate appearance while someone is playing 3rd, who are they, the totals, and the individual contributions. It has to be a thing, right?
  10. Is Baldelli trying to cool Garver off? ( I know, the lefty righty thing..... ) At least Adrianza insn't creating a hole in the order today, so just two right now...... Gonzalez and Castro. I guess they won't be pitching around Castro to get to Buxton.
  11. It only makes me think of how frustrating, for years time 2, that Alcala & Celestino will be if and when they even make it to the show. Wait 3 to 4 years for them to show up, and then inconsistent and frustrating for a couple more....... I want to forget about that already.
  12. Waiting is truly overrated. To me, doesn't matter how Alcala & Celestino ever become in the future. The Pressly trade made our team worse. We need him NOW and for the next few years.... not maybe in 2 or 3 years, or maybe even more (and then go through several years of inconsistency, like Pressly, before becoming a player like Pressly had become, and worth a trade for another team). We already had a need, and the trade made it worse. Alcala & Celestino may be great (I'll take money that they won't and won't even make the show....) and they may be a bust. Doesn't matter. This trade did not make the team better. If and when they might, it still doesn't matter, because it made this team worse. Could our staff had helped Pressly develop further? I don't know. They had their chance for years. That is the only question I have.
  13. The Twins are currently the worst base stealing team in MLB, with 4 total as a team, all Buxton. They are 4/7..... only 7 total base stealing attempts. KC has 27, Seattle 22, and even the White Sox have 20 and are 20/24!
  14. But not on almost any fly ball with one out or less!
  15. The most notable performer in the bullpen was actually Ryne Harper, who pitched three times and allowed zero runs on three singles while recording 15 outs. He's fast changing his narrative from "good story" to "good reliever." It seems the rest of the story is left out again. Harper was also 2/3 (5/8 on the season) inherited runners scored for the week, coming in against Toronto on Tuesday to bail out Gibson and hold the fort with runners on 1st and 2nd with one out and the Twins only down 2-1 in the 6th ..... and let them both score with a pair of singles before he walks away with a 0.00 ERA (a 2/2 outing). Am I the only one that thinks that is a big part of a reliever's story - the inherited-runners scored - and should always be included in a discussion of their perfomance? The Twins lost the game by one... 6-5, so those two runs that were charged to Gibson but let in by Harper, were significant. Harper came in in the 4th with 2 outs and a runner on second on Thursday after Pineda had just imploded and turned a 3-1 lead into a 6-3 deficit, and struck Galvis out swinging on 4 pitches. Harper continued to pitch 3 more stellar innings, and kept the score at 6-3. Now that was impressive, albeit with a much lower pressure threshold. I really hope Harper continues to improve and baffle. We certainly need it in the pen.
  16. Single pay double header........ for this one. Like the old days.
  17. It was 4:20 on 4/20 (in LA). I missed that last out.
  18. Tanner Scott. Who is that guy? Definitely getting on my nerves.
  19. Gonzales only likes to swing at slider OUT of the zone.
