  1. Burning Rodgers in a losing effort, and having him in when they were always behind. I can understand one inning to keep it close, and I know that he needed work, but to burn him for at least tomorrow and maybe wednesday with 31 pitches in 11 innings? Odd management. Is that what the analytics say to do? Plus, dropping a position player when you have one out but not on the IL to replace him.... means a bench of 2. Odd again. Not smart odd. So.... we have lost 3 of the last 4, at home, to teams with losing records. The season settles in, eh? There have be so many barely missed homers. And Berrios was really pretty horrible today. 12 hits. More than 2/inning average. What do all you Marwin doubters think now?
  2. No "trade for prospects" folks calling for Berrios head here? Good.
  3. I don't know what you use to quantify that.... but the you sure do stick up for umpires. I know that you have said you umpire or umpired. I did some too. I know that an umpire is just guessing the best they can, and would think anybody that has done it would know that too, and have no need to stick up for them when there are better options. It is the close ones the players deserve the most, and are all too often robbed of the correct call. I would look them up, but it really isn't worth it.
  4. Ump missing the call on the outside edge. so what else is new?
  5. Do they keep stats on the results of the shift.?Like when someone gets a hit right where the fielder would have been if they didn't shift, and vice versa? If so.... how do you find it and what is it called?
  6. Just tuned in at beginning of the 3rd. Berrios looks like Kohl Stewart. Where is the ace? He looks horrible. That pitch to Otani was right down the middle!
  7. So close to Garver hitting it out with the bases sacked, and Cron with runners on 2nd and third. Astudillo had a chance with the bases loaded, and with runners on 2nd and third, and pops out both times. This was a series that should have been won at least 3-1.
  8. How big is the missed ball call on Garver now? Umpires.......
  9. I hate umpires calling balls and strikes. Hate hate hate it.
  10. Does Buxton loaf to first like that? I never get why players don't always run it out and put pressure on the infield.
  11. Splitting with the Tigers, at home, is a bummer. If they don't come back and win it in the 9th, that is.
  12. At lease Buxton finally scored. Adrianza stranded by turtle man.
  13. And that's why you let Adrianza score, instead of holding him at third, for a more sure thing, perhaps. Being down one instead of two at this point is huge!
  14. Bases loaded, and 2nd and third. Legend my a....
  15. Diaz holds another run from scoring. But he will send Cron (remember?)
  16. I wish Kepler would become consistent. Now batting .178 for May, even with the last two games in Toronto.
  17. Thanks for the update. I can't do the like thing, though.
  18. One month a year does not make for a reliable option. And the 5 inherited runners scored that created 3 losses ( I think 3, without looking it up, at least 2....) count too in April, even though it was passed on to his teammate's stats. I want him to be good, too. But when he is sucking..... just throwing him out there again the next day does not mean he will change overnight.
  19. Little things..... like inherited runs.... Hildenberger's performance now keeps Perez in line for the loss, when it is really Hildenberger that should be responsible now. NOT relief.
  20. Burned them both in one fell swoop. Hope it works.
  21. Time to be a hero Marwin. Turtle man couldn't do it... can you?
  22. Diaz would hold a lightning bolt at third...... How big are the Hildenberger runs given up now?
  23. And for the last part of 2018, after the all-star game..... 9.00 ERA, 1.81 WHIP, .325 average against. He was really only "real good" in May, and pretty good in June. I want him to be good, too. And I remember the game this year he came in with the bases sacked and mowed 'em down. But facts are facts.
  24. Hildenberger's stat line since the all-star break last year does not lie. This is ridiculous. And Beamer just says he pitched well in the second half of last year...... Not paying attention. After all-star break last year...... 9.00 ERA, 1.81 WHIP, .325 average against. He was really only "real good" in May, and pretty good in June. https://www.mlb.com/player/trevor-hildenberger-657610?stats=splits-r-pitching-mlb&year=2018
