  1. Two pitches, another inherited runner scored for Harper, and with two outs. Sigh.
  2. would have walked him. Baldelli not so smart there. Seemed totally clear to me.
  3. Just walk Vogelbach already. The last thing Harper needs to do if he does pitch to him, is throw a first pitch strike....... because I bet Vogelbach is going to swing for the fence no matter what on the first pitch.
  4. Ha! forgot about the double.
  5. While the rest of the league has teeded off on Kikuchi lately, the Twins can't seem to figure him out. Tommy Milone hangover?
  6. If Pineda continues to average about 15 pitches per inning...... he has 90 after 6 and 105 after 7. With tommy john recovery year....... the 6th may be it for him, even if there are no hits.
  7. Beamer said Pineda hasn't given up a hit yet. Cat is out of the bag......... and the batter grounds out. No jinx in play.
  8. I wouldn't be surprised if the Twins end up about a .500 team from here on out. Especially as the bullpen remains what it is and the starters regress. For a team that utilizes advanced stats and analytics so much, the bullpen has been screaming this was going to happen all year....... especially Parker, and Hildenberger, and even Rodgers, whose WHIP and average against indicates he has been pretty lucky. That should still get them the AL Central. But this team is ready for tweaks of improvement. Take the lucky performances and fortify, if the goal is the World Series. Astudillo is also part of the problem, not a solution. Like Colabello, take the hot spell as a gift, and move on. Not a fan.
  9. Yes, not the optimal throw for the tag. Regardless of whether the throw was optimal for the tag, it was easily catchable. He should catch it at least. Maybe he doesn't make the tag in time, but he should catch the ball. Just like when his target for the pitcher is the low and outside corner of the zone, and the pitcher completely misses the target and throws it to the high and inside part of the zone, he still needs to move his glove, and watch the ball into his glove, and make the catch. I give the error to Garver for sure, for not making the catch.
  10. Just like hitters miss the ball when they don't keep their head on it and look away too soon. Just like football receivers look down field just before the ball gets there and miss the pass. Just like Buxton dropped one earlier in the year ...... unfortunate, but not a deal breaker at all. Throwing a ball with no chance of success .... those are the errors that I hate.
  11. I agree. I don't go for the pitch count crap at all......... But the stat was part of it..... just like when they left him in in the 5th that game when he was getting bombed hit after hit after hit and the score was 16-2 or something at the time..........
  12. With the pitch count what it is, and the "analytical" philosophy of our staff..... this has to be just to get one more chance for a win stat for Berrios. Seems silly, to me. I thought wins aren't important any more? Yeah, right.
  13. I need to take a break. I can't whatch this sh##. IT'S TOMMY MILONE!!!!!!!
  14. OK. Seriously guys.... IT'S TOMMY MILONE!!!!!!!
  15. It is only a wild pitch if somebody advances. That has always seemed odd to me. Seems a wild pitch is a wild pitch, regardless.
  16. Seems like that is a common observation for Berrios' starts far too often. I guess it is a tribute to him that he can still come out of it so well most of the time.
  17. It actually IS kinda pathetic for Sano and Buxton to be taken out by Tommy Milone at this point in his long and illustrious career.
  18. The boxes have Lewis 2/9 with 4 strikeouts and the homer, a bit different than the summary, which is 3/8. Plus, he finishes game 1 hitting .222, and then he goes 1/5 in game 2, and raises his average to .228. That is some fuzzy math.
  19. Astudillo wouldn't be in Rochester if he was always 8-11. How many hits were by swinging at balls in the zone? That is probably what will get him another shot. That, or one of the catchers going on the IL.
