  1. I will take 3 runs for 6 innings for a starter on this team. I don't know that I would call them quality starts.... I think it should be 2 runs in 6 innings for that designation. But the game does, now. 3 in 6 is a 4.50 innings eater ERA.... and that is mediocre, and not quality. But........ with this offense, it will be very playable. I would like to see Pineda replaced. What an injustice to pay him 8 million this year, and Berrios about a half a million, eh? Such is the player's union, making sure that the new talent doesn't get paid until they start declining (usually..... like Harper)
  2. Best not call for a pitcher's head on the results of a single inning in a game, me thinks.
  3. Damn. That was horrwibble. Especially for a "professional hitter". Three batters left a total of 7 runners on base.
  4. Come on Nelson.... you only have one job to do...... time to do it.
  5. Too late........ it was right there for the taking. Going to have to be against the pen.
  6. Sure would like more runs on those 91 pitches so far....... They are going to have to pull him before we can take him out!
  7. Ha! Just not deep enough....
  8. Castro is going deep here.............
  9. Gonzalez looked horrid at the plate in that at bat. Good thing he got hit, eh? Time to get to Junis. Every other team seems to.....
  10. Somebody needs to tell these guys they are playing KC, and at home!
  11. Chaulk that one up to shift failure. The devil of a plate ump called the first pitch to Soler a strike, and it was just below the zone. He called the second one a ball, that was virtually in the same spot, but a little closer to the zone. That will help batters and pitchers adjust to his made up zone.
  12. 0-2 and walked him on 4 consecutive pitches. Odorizzi is in trouble this game. I hope he can settle down.
  13. Odor missing a lot of his targets.... all high. Living up in the zone can be halting.
  14. Twins have back to back PED perpetrators hitting 2 and 3.
  15. "THERE'S NO CRYIN' IN BASEBALL!!!"
  16. Meanwhile.... Sparkman only 36 pitches after 3. What was Schoop thinking?
  17. I hate umpires still calling balls and strikes. Hate, hate, hate it. The pitch before the called third to Palanco could have been called a strike...... maybe it touched the zone, but the one he did call a strike was ridiculous. Not even a shade of consistency.
  18. It's just a thing. Do you have any "things"? It is even more of a thing and the most fun, when you can say it on the first batter. Be down if you like. That must be your thing.
  19. Good luck with that. I still see Gaterol (he wants his r back) all the time, at least 5 to 6 different versions of Kirilloff, and Pressly is still getting abused and he isn't even on the team any more. Plus waiting in the wings...... Balazovic and Rortvedt, among others. Rogers seems like a relatively easy one to conquer, though (I hope I don't falter, myself). Hell, I still see an occasional Maurer! (Hey, there is where Graterol's r went)
  20. First of all, to all the Nibwits, I swear I heard Gibson all the way out here in LA, yell "BITE ME!" during his after game shower. Never fear, the nibwits will still be holding on to the past and will be biting at the bit to bring out their favorite, tired, lame greatest hit at the first sign of a bit of a control struggle in a future game. They just can't help themselves, like a skipping vinyl record. What a great game...... to win. It would have been a tragically sad one to lose. But good teams win the close ones. I have no problem, as it turned out, to have Rogers, on his first appearance back from the minor back problem that made him sit and rest, close out the game. But.....count me as one that still wants to see the rare complete game shutout. This was not a game that was pushing a pitcher that had already reached 120 pitches after the 8th. He was averaging 11 pitches per inning, and at 88, throwing a 2 hitter, was still dominating. And he now had a 2 run lead. You could send him out and see if he goes 1-2-3. If he gets a runner on, Rogers is still ready, and he can just ignore that runner, and pretend he started the inning with a one run lead, and the bases empty. Mind games aside, there was no downside whatsoever to let Gibson start the 9th and give him a shot at the shutout. Silly vanity stats, you say? Not near as silly as equating 12 pitches under 100 in a game, ONE GAME, a shutout game that is so rare these days.......one game in June.... to be so important for saving him in October. And complete game shutouts still mean a lot to a starter. That alone, and the added confidence it can give him, is worth giving him the 9th.
  21. Watching the FO skip the easy one in Kimbrel (just money, money from the richest owner in the MLB)), and now the roller coaster of Littell (back again), and Romero, and De Jong, and Adams, and Mejia, and the expected regression avalanche of McGill and Parker.......... and Hildenberger is not a solution..... I just hope it comes strong and quick. The whole of MLB is looking for the same thing. Time for the FO to swing for the fence and hit home runs, and not strike out. Nothing I say matters, and after debacle of trading Pressly and the non-signing of Kimbrel, I have nothing, and am struggling for confidence something exceptional with happen.
  22. Don't understand why Baldelli didn't walk Vogelbach. I mean really, he was 6/11 in this series coming to the plate, and you have a base open, and only need one out.
