  1. Yup. That was what he was doing. Or at least, thinking he was doing. I still don't like it. Then Baldelli taxes Rogers arm. No regard for Rogers? It could also mean Berrios is not building the stamina he will need as a long term "ace". Do you think Verlander is letting you pull him at that point? Not without an annimated argument. The interview with Baldelli starts with the interviewer saying Berrios said he was tired, and they talked about it a bit later. Maybe that was it. I miss pitchers being studs and pitching complete games. They seem to be being taught that it is isn't something they should want to do.
  2. I guess the window wasn't preceived as open, and it was determined the cold north wind was just blowing hard and making that howl that said....... "This is it. This is the time. Now." The culprit crack was filled with a couple of relief pitchers that were better than what we had, and there you have it. No great starter was added, and you can still see through the window.
  3. The no trade clause just means that Greinke would have to be involved in the trade discussions and/or approve the trade. Until I hear it from Greinke that he would have nixed a trade to the Twins, if there was one offered, I take this as just another writer trying to be somebody on twitter. Didn't Verlander have to approve the trade to Houston? Yes. No trade clauses just give the player final say. It never means that the list, if there is one, or even a full no-trade clause, means a trade can't happen. To say, or infer such, is a bit irresponsible, I think. "Verlander, 34, has a full no-trade clause and had to approve a deal to Houston, which he waited to do as negotiations played out, wanting to make an informed decision based on all options. ............ ........"We thought the deal was dead," Astros owner Jim Crane told MLB.com. "We had tried previously. He's a quality pitcher. I think he's excited to come. He was a little reluctant and eventually made the right decision. We got him for a couple of more years and the team's intact." https://www.mlb.com/news/astros-trade-for-pitcher-justin-verlander-c251757752
  4. I want a rematch with the Dodgers. I have been waiting since Koufax pitched 2 complete games in 3 days, game 7 on 2 days rest, and crushed my hope and dreams when I was 10 in 1965. I have been waiting a long time for it. And may as well go through the Yankees and Astros to get there. Be a champ by beating the best. That's the way to do it.
  5. Cody Allen an answer for the pen? He is not even an answer for Rochester's pen.
  6. This is why you just sign someone like Kimbrel, and don't have to mess with the ridiculous trade demands, just cash. If Syndergaard gets traded to another team and doesn't get Buxton, it will be obvious he could be traded for someone not Buxton.
  7. Teams on no trade lists are many times about wanting to have leverage, and not necessarily because they don't want to be traded, or wouldn't accept to be traded to that particular team. It shouldn't be taken as they would not accept a trade to that team per se.
  8. Yup. I heard that yesterday. So would we all. But after many series lost, they need some streaks to even it back out. 10 game winning streaks are boring, anyway, I guess.
  9. This just winning a series goal is lame. How about a 10 game winning streak! It's time for a double digit winning streak. Think big to go big. 1 down, 9 to go.....
  10. No solo home runs today! 3 two run and 1 three run. I hate solo home runs.
  11. I believe you missed the point of that comment.
  12. me too. no hashtag. free and no blackouts.
  13. At least Harper can't give up any inherited runs today.
  14. 6 innings, 9 Ks (well.... 8 if you want to get picky), only 1 walk, and 7 hits and one run. Gibson to all the fair weather Nibwits........... "Bite Me".
  15. How does Angel Hernandez get to keep his job? Is there no quality control at all in the Umpire's Union?
  16. We have been a less than .500 team since June. So I guess not terrible, just not better than average. And this is the easy part of the schedule, the White Sox. So very disappointing to see them lose focus and seem dull today. They look pretty bad this afternoon. Errors. Leaving the bases loaded. That is what is not a good look.
  17. 1-0 complete game 4 hit (one homer) shutout last outing (Marlins). So he is just dialed in, apparently. Seems very hitable to me watching this game, though.
  18. Schoop didn't even try to catch it! Didn't even reach his glove out. It looked very catchable.
  19. So are you a suer? Or a circle of awareness guy and don't drive behind something that looks like it could be trouble?
  20. Only 10 outs left. WAKE UP OFFENSE!!!
  21. Nova smarter than our pitchers. He doesn't throw a strike on an 0-2 count.
  22. People will always try to sue. Skydiving waivers at drop zones use in your face bold and larger fonts to make sure one knows it is their choice and risk, and people still litigate (rarely win, but sometimes do, even though they signed and initial their right to do so away).
  23. Romo = the next Pressly? I thought that was the goal.
  24. OK. This is officially getting old here. No offense. 91 mph heat. Cleveland up 8-0. Time to focus and put these games away early!!!!
