  1. Soft tossing Romo? For relief? Not a fan of that. At all. Falvey is out doing himself. Inciting ferocious fear in the late innings.
  2. Natural Selection? I always think it is such a waste to have a kid that really could care less about the baseball game taking up great seats. Spoiled rich kids. Just jealous, I guess.
  3. Does that hit by Marwin count as shift failed? In the standard defense, the first baseman would have been right where the ball went through.
  4. Looks like Buxton is playing deeper now. I like that. Save the crashes into the wall.
  5. Perez fooling no one. They are tagging him, even if it isn't fair. Lucky it isn't 5-1
  6. I hate the net out there all the way to the fair pole. No more exciting catches leaning into the stands. That sucks. It is up to the fans to pay attention to the game. Moncada seems about as smart as Sano.
  7. KC has sure been pesky against us. I think we are 6-3, but the run differential is slight.
  8. It's like a curse to get the bases loaded. Best to do anything you can to keep a base open.
  9. Complete game last outing against the Marlins.
  10. Beating themselves again? Interesting schedule.
  11. I didn't see that. Good catch. But Sano needs to be smarter on his own. I don't think he could have got a double play, though, and then the run would have scored anyway. As it turns out, no biggy.
  12. But they won them! Twins..... since June 15 lost a series to the White Sox 1-2, went 0-2 against the Mets, and split with KC 2-2.... for 3-6. You have to win them regardless, and Cleveland did and our Twins didn't.
  13. That is the kind of play we need Polanco to make. Looking at a DP and out of the inning if he does.
  14. Red Sox not having any trouble beating the Yankees. Pounding them for the third straight game.
  15. Only one guy over there. Quite polite for Marwin to hit it right to him.
  16. It would be nice if the Twins make Nova throw more than 7 pitches this inning.
  17. Gibson has an ERA over 5 career for the first inning. To me, that doesn't translate well for coming out of the pen.
  18. There is no "Pressly" deal. I don't know how you can just "skip over" that inept blunder. I don't see how any other FO could let something like that happen. I don't even see a pitcher that is even comparable at this juncture. The regression of the staff is in full swing and is touching all our pitchers - yes all - as we consider this. The FO in on the clock. This team has been remarkably fortunate. Now is not the time to sit back and go with what we have. That is glaringly obvious. We will see if this FO really wants to win a championship in the next week, and if they do, we will find out if they are keen enough to make the right choice(s). Do I know who the prize to be had is, the one that will be the magic instead of the lump of coal? Nope. I don't have the staff and data though. But I can be had for the right price, and then I would definitely give it a shot, and not sit and watch.
  19. But Ramos was already in the mix, and not really a prospect anymore. Maybe he was officially by the ABs or something, but the certain to be catcher replacement for Mauer sooner than later, and to be used at third base too as he backed up until that happened. (I thought I had included him, but I guess not). So to me, he was already a MLB player, traded for Capps. But certainly a new up and comer. Does that count? I guess that could be a prospect trade though.
  20. "It's part of major league baseball and the way you use your staff as a whole. There are days that your starter is gonna go...regardless of how the start goes he's gonna go our there and give you x number of pitches......" Baldelli. So tired. So in the box. Not creative. Not thinking about the importance of the game. Not caring about the fans that paid to see the games. It is throwing the towel in in the 4th inning. This is how a team misses the division crown by one game, or the play offs by one game. It was irresponsible to not modify from the plan. Starters need protected too, and sometimes they don't have it, and it is time to get them out of there. And that decision cost this game. Not impressed. So no need to mansplain me about the pen. I understand. But be my pest if you must. I also understand that if he had modified from the "plan", that Smeltzer would have given them a chance to win. That is in the books. Time to be bold. One game at a time. Time for out of the box, because the box can be a trap.
  21. But Cleveland wins those games. In this stretch since June 15, we have split with KC, lost a series to the White Sox, and got swept by the Mets! 3-6 right there against losing teams. So just because they are on the schedule, doesn't mean they are an automatic win. Our Twins really need to step up, and win a bunch of games, and get at least 30 games over .500.
  22. What trade of prospects has haunted this organization? I am not saying there isn't any, but I can't think of any, and if you know of one (some), I would sure like to be reminded of it. The trades that haunt this organization are trades of MLB players. Our guys. The fan's guys. The Twins. They haunt us from last year. Pressly. And I can think of Hicks. Morneau (I believe he went on to win a batting title). Escobar. Span. Gomez. I'm old enough to still be pissed about when they let Lyman Bostock go when I was 22 after the 1977 season (free agent cheaptitude, not a trade)! What are your peves? So.....Falvey, go get a really good one, or couple. A Starter. A Reliever. or two. It is Falvey's job to make the right choice, and not pick a dud. That is his job. Not mine. Don't ask me who they are. That is what he is paid to do. This is the window. It may not come for years again. if he doesn't...... it must mean he is a double agent for Cleveland, and not really working for us. (It's a conspiracy)
