  1. Simple answer; If they save money it goes in Jim Pohlads pocket.
  2. The other leg? Are we on our way to another case of bi-lateral leg weakness?
  3. Send him to the Orioles trainers, they did wonders with the "injury prone" JJ Hardy.
  4. Twins are 2-15 in the playoffs since you started with no series wins of course. I'd say you have far out performed the Twins in that time. Keep up the good work.
  5. On the bright side we shouldn't finish last in the AL for the third year in a row with the Astros in the league.
  6. I think he has made a lot of money (I hope he has saved some) and the Mariners are a short drive from his home town. Go finish your last couple years at home (no need to break the bank) plus they could use anyone that can hit even a little. Go home young man! You had some great years for the Twins but time moves on for all of us.
  7. I went and looked up these drafts. 02: Span, Crain and Neshek; 03: Baker; 04: Perkins; 05: Garza, Slowey & Duensing; 06: nobody; 07: Revere; 08: Hicks. When you rely on the draft this is a very poor track record. Except for 08 this is all on Ryan.
  8. I asked this before but is Span (2008) the last Twins prospect that came up and gave us 2 plus years of major league level play? None of the guys this year or the last couple have proven anything. Going back over the years there just aren't position players or pitchers that have come up and been proven major leaguers in a long time. I think the biggest problem is the last 3-4 drafts Ryan did before semi retiring have produced nothing. Who is the last starter drafted by the Twins that has been a consistent major leaguer. Garza?
  9. 111 pitches? Do they want his arm to fall off? Isn't 100 a magic number in Gardy's book?
  10. Who is the last Twins position prospect to come up and play 2 plus years of solid baseball at the "major league level? Do we have to go back to Span?
  11. If we have all these guys that we're afraid of getting claimed, meaning they must be good and other teams want them, why have the Twins been so bad the last 2 plus years?
  12. 147-221 over the last two plus years. A lot of bad luck!
  13. Until Gibson can be consistently bad he doesn't belong in the Twins rotation. Consistency or bust!
  14. Does Gardy still have the boys battling their tails off or have they given up? How long can the front office go with this before making a change?
  15. How long before the Astro's pass us in the standings?
  16. Probably for the best gives Andy less time to spend teaching Gibbie "pitch to contact".
  17. Where does it say this in the rule book? "Hitting the wall and going over is considered a ground rule double just as if it hit the ground itself."
  18. Everybody knows managers win games, players lose them!
  19. According to Fan Graph take it for what you wish, compared to the American League teams Twins are 12 in hitting, 15 in fielding, 10 in starting pitching and 1 in relief pitching. My eye ball test has been that the bullpen has kept them in a lot of games. Unless the other 3 aspects pick up the pace the bullpen will quickly run out of gas as we've seen before. One thing they have going for them is there appears to be a lot of mediocre teams in the AL this year.
  20. Do whatever the experts say because they are always correct and always agree with each other.
  21. When the TV or radio guys get involved it usually means that the player will be sent out. These guys work for the team and get talking points everyday before the games it's just laying the groundwork. We are being primed for Hicks getting sent down, imo.
  22. Gardy grew up in a military family and he manages military drill sergeant style. What does't kill you makes you better. At least that is the hope not sure it's what actually happens in the real world and epescially with pro athletes.
  23. There's a saying "praise in public", "criticize in private" Good rule to live by.
  24. 50 runners and 3 driven in? Put all the lipstick on it you want that isn't good! Did I miss the part where I said Carroll should be the 3b?
  25. FanGraph has him rated 15 out or 22 rated 3b. His RISP, .150/.217/.300 he's had 50 runners on base and driven in 3, maybe not so potent. Relative to the team he may be a potent slugger but not sure about league overall. However they likely have little or no other better options. I'll take the "not" as a scolding.
