  1. Wow. They score 6 runs after the 1st three batters of the inning strike out. That has to be some sort of record.
  2. Who do you DFA off the 40 man to make room for Palacios? Unless he needs time on the IL, who do you demote to make room for him on the roster? Who's bat do you take out of the lineup? Buxton, Arraez, Miranda or Urshela? All 4 of them have hit better since the break than he has hit in AAA. Arraez isn't the best option at 2B, but isn't awful. I would rather see all 4 of those guys get regular AB's, the Twins could certainly you use the runs. The only time realistic time Palacios probably gets regular playing time is if Correa needs extended time off.
  3. I mean.....he isn't wrong. After the Urshela HR in the 5th....they had 2 base runners for the rest of the game. An infield hit and a walk. 6 runs is fantastic, but the offense did completely shut off for the other half of the game.
  4. I can't wait for the deadline to come around and pass so the daily "Trading Correa" threads will go away.
  5. Has there been any indication that Buxton or Kepler will miss any time?
  6. Where would you play Palacios? He's got a great glove, but unless you are sitting Correa, he belongs nowhere near the Twins lineup. Steer has rose through the ranks quickly, but he has played 24 games at AAA. He isn't going to supplant anyone in the current 7 you listed. Polanco-Correa-Urshela are your everyday 2B-SS-3B. Arraez and Kirilloff both struggle against LHP. With a lefty on the mound Garlick can start in LF, Miranda at 1B and Sano DH. Against RHP, Kirilloff can play LF and two of Arraez/Miranda/Sano at 1B/DH. When Buck needs to DH, then you make decisions.
  7. I can't see them shopping Urshela much. The depth at 3B is Urshela and Miranda, trading Gio and an injury to Miranda means....Arraez? starts at 3B? No thanks. Don't deplete your depth if it's not necessary.
  8. No but Nick Gordon can. With Gordon and Celestino on the roster, it was pretty redundant having a light hitting option on the bench. Without an option for Gordon, this move made sense, especially considering how much Celestino had been struggling at the plate.
  9. Good move with Celestino, let him get ABs everyday in AAA. He has shown potential to be a pretty solid hitter, but could certainly use some seasoning. I think I am in the minority, but I am looking forward to seeing Miguel again.
  10. I think trading Miranda would be a huge mistake by the Twins. Since his slow start he has been raking and a much needed cog in this lineup. IMO he should be in the Twins long term plans.
  11. To add onto that Chase Petty directly got them Sonny Gray, who is more of less the ace of the staff. Gray won't be technically listed as someone in the pipeline, but a draft pick got him to Minnesota as well.
  12. 7th round, Kyle Jones, 22 year old RHP, Toledo
  13. Hopefully Ober is back soon, that will put 2 rookies and a 2nd year pitcher in the starting rotation. Combine that with your two best high leverage men being in their 1st and 2nd season and that's 5 fairly important arms being 1st or 2nd year players from that pipeline....not to mention Moran, Sands and Alcala have all been on the staff at some point this season.
  14. When I say the title I immediately thought of Romero and Arcia. The amount of threads and pages dedicated to discussing Arcia on here/BYTO had to be in the 100s. So many varying viewpoints on him. If only he could have gotten regular ABs!! Lol. I would like to hear some prospects you thought that went the other way. For me it was Jorge Polanco. I never thought he would be a productive player and that calling him up as a 20 year old in 2014 was a huge mistake. I also think they left him at SS for way too long and should have been moved to 2B years before he actually was.
  15. His stats seem to tell me he is a similar pitcher to Pagan but from the left side. Okert's LOB% of 93% and BABIP of .193 are running that ERA. Celestino IMO would be a gigantic overpay and a hit to the Twins OF depth. I would be willing to toss a low level prospect at them, but IMO the Twins should aim higher.
  16. One of the most fun summers as a Twins fan in my memory. Mauer and Morneau both broke out that summer. Torii was in his prime. Santana-Liriano was the best 1-2 punch in the game and Joe Nathan was basically unhittable. Great memories for sure!
  17. Bell is intriguing, but who do you give ABs to? If you play him strictly at 1B, which he is accustomed to, he takes away ABs from Arraez/Kirilloff/Miranda. While his splits are better than the two rookies, do we want to take ABs from them? You could play him 1B/DH...but Buck is at DH 40% of the time, Arraez when someone else is at 1B and Polonco is healthy. Do we want to take the bat out of Luis's hands? For most most teams you have an obvious weakness...but with Buck not in CF full time, it really throws a wrench in things.
  18. The Twins have been held to 2 runs or less 30 times this season in 85 games, or 35% of the time. Their record when they score 0: 0-10. Their record when they score 1: 3-5. Their record when they score 2: 4-8. Total record when they score 2 or less: 7-23. The bullpen has lost this team it's fair share of games, but the offense has been to blame in a lot of games as well. That being said, I'm not sure who I would want to take AB's away from at this point. A lot of regulars have missed games, and there are a lot of young players who are still getting use to major league pitching. Catcher is about the only position where I see a clear upgrade could be had.
  19. I've mentioned twice in this thread already....Winder went on IL a month ago and has had 3 rehab starts in AAA..2-3-4 innings. He started 2 days ago. There's no meaningless innings going on.
  20. Winder got lit up by Oakland on May 17th, went on the IL on the 21st. He started his rehab assignment on June 9th. He had 3 short starts before being called up to pitch the 2nd game of the DH yesterday.
  21. To be fair, Robertson hadn't pitching effectively since 2018. He pitched 18 innings total in the 3 years of 2019-2021. He has pitched well in 29 innings with the Cubs, but that's $3.5M is a pretty decent sized gamble on a guy who hasn't been effect since '18.
  22. He went to the IL at the end of May, started a few times in AAA, started last night and pitched very well. I don't think anything has changed.
  23. To be fair Culoumbe and Megill have performed pretty well, they just aren't healthy.
