Matt Carson has 7 hits in 10 at bats. In April Aaron Hicks got 8 hits in 71 at bats. I am anxious to see Hicks in 2014 make us forget about this year. Go Aaron! (PLEASE!)
Scherzer is impressive. He gets two strikes on a batter and there's none of this: 'Well, I'll throw a couple by the dugout & see if they swing' crap! Goes right after them.
Correia's pitches to the last batter - on Gameday they looked like two of them were barely in the same zip code as the plate. And yet he gets out of the inning. For reasons that perplex me I am starting to enjoy Correia sometimes. I'm guessing the whiskey helps.
I think we will get an indication of whether the Twins are serious about making a difference when we find out who won the bid to negotiate with Tanaka.
Wow gil4 - you would hang on to Hendriks but release the MVP of AAA in Chris Colabello? I find all of your post interesting, but why give Hendriks a real chance and not Colabello? Also, I'm not certain of all the rules but they will probably only let you remove Roenicke from the 40-man once. Interesting list. And I certainly agree about Mahay and Hoey.
When paying Free Agents the Twins have paid the least as an average salary. They have not, however, paid even close to the least when looking at $/WAR. Going cheap isn't always the cheapest way to go.
