  1. He's had 5 bazillion opportunities to spontaneously combust in this scenario, hasn't happened yet! Fun aside, I pulled this while looking up first pitch strikes on Google, an article I missed on Fangraphs. Chief would like that article as well, many points made that I swear were his damn near verbatim off BYTO. Concur?
  2. And if I'm the Dodgers, I start the conversation with Buxton + Sano, or GTFO.
  3. While the prospect of Clayton Kershaw on the Twins makes me tingly in all manner of ways indescribable due to the forum's terms of service, no, I don't think we could get Kershaw for anything remotely reasonable.
  4. I wonder which is more likely, Grossman becoming a viable defensive outfielder, or Rosario obtaining reasonable plate discipline.
  5. How about a little Chris Herr-Mann instead?
  6. I'm a big fan of the "Date Russians your way" ad, aesthetically anyway.
  7. Roughly 20th among the top 30 in plate appearances. Still not an F, unless you're going to start adding additional letter grades for those that were clearly worse (and in some cases, far worse).
  8. Joe ranked roughly 20th among major league first baseman (per war), I'd have put him the C-/D+ area. An F? No. Plenty with worse production than he provided.
  9. Trout is the guy that destroys the grading curve for everyone. He gets his own scale, while the mere humans get another.
  10. Maybe we could get Salcedo back as the 4th piece for Dozier.
  11. Pedro Munoz did alright for me on Ken Griffey Jr. Baseball on the SNES. :/
  12. Auto-correct failure. It's RonDL.
  13. That's almost as creepy as your avatar.
  14. Gold Glove, yes, quite often. The Silver Slugger not so much, the winners are typically ranked right at the top of their positions.
  15. To expand a bit on the previous explanations, "range" factor can often be influenced by the pitching staff a defender plays behind. A flyball staff will lead to lower scores for infielders due to few chances, fewer yet if it's a high strikeout staff. Or the reverse, a groundball heavy staff that induces a lot of contact can drive the figures up for infielders.
  16. I completely agree. I don't want to see him at the back end of the bullpen routinely getting called on in high leverage spots. As a $2 million dollar middle reliever that can (likely) provide a bunch of reliable innings, he'd be just fine, and cheap enough to jettison if/when a better option comes along.
  17. I don't much care to see Kintzler getting many high leverage innings next year, but I don't see why he couldn't easily repeat what he did this season. His numbers this year were effectively identical to his previous major league numbers. It isn't as though he came out of no where and did something that he's never done before.
  18. The season, in scientifically graphical form.
