  1. Buxton did show a big improvement in his walk rate over the last half of his plate appearances, moving from putrid to above league average. So while his ability to avoid the K didn't improve much, his discipline as a whole appears that it did, and that's a good start.
  2. I just scored myself another fantasic russian bride, albeit on the office computer. Makes you wonder what the office lady is doing in here during the day.
  3. I only get those while playing solitaire on my phone.
  4. I would guess curve, that's about in the velocity range he's always thrown it at.
  5. And then mercilessly rake it off.
  6. Speaking of data, how about his abysmal marks in the majors at shortstop? A small sampling for sure, but it is a data point, and it is a serious reg flag.
  7. Given the differences between ball-in-play types and frequencies of pitching staffs, range factor is every bit as lousy (if not more) in small samples.
  8. The only reasonable explanation is that the concrete has finally cured.
  9. To hell with the lottery, how about something on the Dozier trade!
  10. http://stream1.gifsoup.com/view6/4263176/fabio-o.gif
  11. Some points are irrefutable. As Chitown can attest.
  12. So, Mike Trout, not elite? Just curious where we draw the lines of definition here.
  13. He also retired something like 6th on the all-time walk list, posting fantastic OBP's throughout his career despite his batting average.
  14. He's had 5 bazillion opportunities to spontaneously combust in this scenario, hasn't happened yet! Fun aside, I pulled this while looking up first pitch strikes on Google, an article I missed on Fangraphs. Chief would like that article as well, many points made that I swear were his damn near verbatim off BYTO. Concur?
  15. And if I'm the Dodgers, I start the conversation with Buxton + Sano, or GTFO.
  16. While the prospect of Clayton Kershaw on the Twins makes me tingly in all manner of ways indescribable due to the forum's terms of service, no, I don't think we could get Kershaw for anything remotely reasonable.
  17. I wonder which is more likely, Grossman becoming a viable defensive outfielder, or Rosario obtaining reasonable plate discipline.
  18. How about a little Chris Herr-Mann instead?
  19. I'm a big fan of the "Date Russians your way" ad, aesthetically anyway.
  20. Roughly 20th among the top 30 in plate appearances. Still not an F, unless you're going to start adding additional letter grades for those that were clearly worse (and in some cases, far worse).
  21. Joe ranked roughly 20th among major league first baseman (per war), I'd have put him the C-/D+ area. An F? No. Plenty with worse production than he provided.
