  1. I am wondering if anyone at all would claim Florimon were he to be exposed? Or would he pique minor interest as a throw-in filler with another prime Twin target? The bench is horrendous right now, and short one man, time for some addition by subtraction and then by, new addition, to the 40- and 25-man roster for the road trip.
  2. I'm not sure what else Mitch Garver has left to prove in CR. He now has a .411 OBP on the season with an .898 OPS.
  3. The Blue Jays seem to be specializing in making Buffalo's roster look like Baltimore's did at one point not so long ago.
  4. It looks great with my magnifying glass:banghead:
  5. I defended the Matt Guerrier signing from the start of ST, in the face of the typical criticism about putting the band back together. I was pretty insistent that the Twins, if Guerrier proved healthy, surely had Matty-G in mind to replacing Burton at some point- but a point sooner rather than later. I was proven wrong and I'm stumped that the Twins have chosen to retain both of them together for this long. As I've been pointing out recently, and I'll keep firing away for effect- The MN Twins have NINE pitchers over 30 on their 25-man roster... The NY Yankees have THREE pitchers over 30 on their 25-man roster...
  6. Hey, hellzya. And I like your stance today in the face of Burt-ie and Swarz-ie doing well. But we gotta give the Twins a little credit, for all the Bartlett/Kubel head-scratchers, they have made more moves that have made sense than in previous years.
  7. Well then, you obviously don't mind a lot of "asset indigestion", something the Twins seem to specialize in.
  8. Would they dare to bring him up to debut for the first game after the return from the road trip, on June 30 against Kansas City and James Shields? As of today, the Twins have a "TBD" as the probable, in what would be Pino's 3rd starting turn. After his abbreviated stint on Saturday, if May pitches on Wednesday, instead of Thursday for the Red Wings, he would be right on schedule for a week from Monday, and in synch, with Pino.
  9. And for some of us, to dislike both of them.
  10. It's no secret that the bench without Plouffe and Nunez is horrendous right now. Doug Bernier went 4-5 today (.424/.487/.515/1.012 in his last 10 games and BA .307/OPS .812 on the season) and would offer a much better utility bench option than Florimon....plus, who would claim Bernier once he became expendable? Then, the Twins just have to find the guy off the 40-man to DFA, that either won't be claimed or determine that it's no loss, if claimed.
  11. Me too, I actually dusted off IE for the warning message.
  12. FYI- The Twins are committed to Pino for just his next start, only (see below, the slot for June 30 is conspicuously left open). I have to think a move is coming to bring up a position player tomorrow, but unfortunately, it's extremely unlikely it's to replace Burt-ie. The Red Wings are currently only listing tomorrow's starter, Alex Meyer, so no indication on anything having been decided in Rochester from the projected starter listings.

  14. I'm on GoogleChrome, and all I have is the info below Service Time notes.
  15. You're going to have to break Gardy's mancrush for Burt-ie. After today, it's apparent that Burton is not only being asked to appear in many of the high-leverage situations, he is also now the back-up closer.
  16. Naw....just a fully conscious moderator-induced rest stop in limbo until the inevitable occurs....
  17. His xFIP during the good stretch is still 4.71. We're only talking about 21 IP since May 1, versus 30 IP for the entire season.
  18. Lots more details on May from Pioneer Press and CBSsports stories from yesterday: http://twinsdaily.com/showthread.php/12158-May-pulled-after-5-on-next-start-after-120-pitches
  19. Thanks, Seth. You missed one. Who took Wheeler's spot in the rotation? Was it Hermsen?
  20. A forward-looking moderator?
  21. And isn't it ironic, the Rock Cats are the hottest team in professional baseball, just set a team record of 10 straight wins, 12 of 13 with Rosario in the lineup. And this, even though Hicks has to be a bit of a distraction coming in late to the party and all. The fans are the only ones who seem to be paying attention. The Cats had a sellout crowd today of 8400, and the 4th highest single-game attendance mark in their history. The Hartford Courant newspaper, whose namesake city has stolen the team, doesn't even see fit to publish game summaries, let alone assign a beat writer.
  22. Hopefully, the 120 exercise is the last big test...if so, Trevor May appears to have passed that test with flying colors. And perhaps Saturday's follow-up game was enough confirmation of enough life left in May's arm after such a rigorous test. And lining up with Kevin Correia sure seems to be bringing out the best in KC...."and this is how it should be", as well.
  23. Also add.... Yes, even our brother TD poster, cmathewson, is likely willing to walk......er swim away after this revelation. Bizarre, but given everything that has gone down, not all that surprising. Gotta think now that he will be dealt before season-end.
  24. Seth, is there any possibility that the Miracle playing 17 games in 16 days is part of the reason that Berrios hasn't been promoted? Who has taken Wheeler's spot in the Miracle rotation, and more importantly, who would take Berrios' spot should he be moved to New Britain? Brett Lee or Hurlbut ready to come off of the DL soon? Alex Wimmers?
