  1. I think May is valued too high on the list and probably I also would have Benson lower. Would move Roberts higher and also Gibson(Who rates to be a #2 starter). Outside of that the list is close. Twins should rank in the top 5 as some of the lower prospects also could have high ceilings and be here in 2014(Don't remember name, but leftly reliever drafted last year and was is Beloit(I believe))
  2. Wait to trade Morneau until we see if Parmalee works out. That would be trading deadline next year.
  3. I believe Schumaker is a free agent. Would not be the worst of signings for a million or two a year.
  4. I went with middle. Worley could be a bust after surgery and May is not a guarantee Meyer could be a bust but the chances are smaller. Meyer could also be a top of the rotation pitcher or a solid #2. Those players do not grow on trees. About even.
  5. Hicks should get the chance. We need to start exposing the younger players and slowing the process down will not help either the attendance or the Twins major league club. If he fails he can season in Rocester.
  6. Twins keep adding pitchers. This guy should be stashed if he has a decent spring. Maybe he replaces Swarzak as the long reliever or keeps De Vires in Rochester. Pitchers if they have a chance should be played out.
  7. Twins have some talent, just not pitching. Some pitchers will come here, it just may be a bit more expensive than before. Question is, do the Twins want to spend the money.
  8. I still believe the Twins can get some things done, but some chances have to be taken. Both Marcum and McCarthy are risks, but probably will only need 1 - 3 year contracts. These are the type of the players the Twins should sign. It may take $25 mil a year to sign both, but at least one can be signed. Then take a flyer or two(Liariano, Kasmer) who have stuff and tin heads. The last signee could be a Lannen, Myers (etc). That would give the Twins a chance to be competitive. And the payroll still probably would not be $100 mil. I agree with not signing pitchers for more than 3 years, especially FA types who are 30 or over.
  9. If this would get it done, go for it. I doubt it, but worse things have happened. We would need to extend DIckey and have the Mets pick up some salary. But just getting Santana for some C prospects and Blackburn is a thought
  10. If this is the price of pitching the Twins are in deep trouble. It mean the 6 years $15 million Sanchez wanted may be low to what he gets. Twins need to move fast to sign a second line pitcher or we will be into the dregs and we don't need more of those.
  11. I think it will be next year. Need to fix mechanics will slow him this year. Also Twins do not need to rush him this year if he is here next year.
  12. I tend to agree with twinsfaninsaudi, the twins are being used by agents to run up the price as the teams cannot share information, but the agents probably do on offers, so agents just take the twins offer to clubs they want to sign with for more money, or the agents use the twins rumor to extract more money
  13. That means our focus should be younger pitching. No pitcher should be signed who is over 30 and should be younger. If this means trades and getting younger, so be it. It would be hard to less competitive than last year. Stockpile arms, that is how you make good trades for very good players. Twins need to move their young arms forward, faster than slower. Get as many of these types as possible.
  14. Am not impressed by the major league ready arms Baltimore has. Maybe a couple more A pitchers, not a bad move and maybe more to follow. Pitching wins, look at the final 4 teams last year. Only St. Louis did not have above average pitching in the playoffs. In the American league only the Yankees pitching was below average and they paid a hugh price for it.
  15. You are valueing the trade as if Holland is on a long term contract. It would have to be a three to four year deal to make me interested in this price. His numbers have not been that good for his career, looks to me like a #3 starter. Revere and Morneau would be a huge price for a number 3 starter.
  16. Depending on how much salary the Mets want to eat, go for it. The more salary the Twins take on, the less in prospects they would have to give, Benson and Guerra and maybe another C prospect
  17. I hope they start him in New Britian to see what they have. They can always send him back if they need to. Top level prospects need to move forward and be challenged. I do not see what 7 -10 starts in Fort Myers would gain him. He already had 7 starts in High - A and dominated.
  18. The Twins tried this in 2012...only it was their starters who "pitched 3 innings every few days." //rimshot// The Twins tried this in 2012...only it was their starters who "pitched 3 innings every few days." Nice idea, since this may happen if the Twins do not get some decent starters. It is cheaper to build an 8 - 9 man bullpen of reasonable quality than to find 4 - 5 starting pitchers starting from 1. Hope the Twins get neither Saunders or Liarino, though maybe Bobby Cuellar can help Liarino. This could also be rumors from agents hoping to increase the offers their clients are receiving. Still hoping for Marcum with McCarthy as the fallback option and would like both. Mlbtraderumors reports the Twins are checking on Morneau's value. Wonder if TR's budget is closer to $80 mil than $90 mil
  19. Please no Dempster(too old). Would love Marcum for 2 - 3 years. Would help the blow of the rest of the pitchers the Twins are likely to sign.
  20. Twins need pitching and more pitching. If Revere brings a decent prospect go for it. Earlier list of outfield prospects missed Kepler.
  21. Whether A-Rod will ever be back as anything but a DH is a question. Yankees are beginning to have to decide to give it up or just pay the luxury tax and try to continue to win Will be interesting to see the results, since the Yankees will have to choose this offseason. It should soon be declared.
  22. Still hoping for Marcum or McCarthy hopefully both. Bottom for the third.(Myers, Lannan, Saunders, Jurrgens). TR should have the money to swing this unless tnings go out of sight.
  23. I expect the Hicks or Arcia may be here sooner, as early as the start of the season. Twins may still make more trades, so I am in the wait and see mode at least till the end of spring training.
  24. Lannan is garbage. At least Gorzelanny can actually strike out guys and could be a starter or reliever. No worse than Blanton or some of the others at the bottom of the list, Gorzelanny has been either good or very terrible usually the later
  25. Twins did not want the contracts, they are now FA's
