Ken Rosenthal ‏@Ken_Rosenthal · 2m2 minutes ago Within industry, #Cubs viewed as a leading contender for Maddon. Renteria signed through 2016. Team could simply pay off rest of his deal. Ken Rosenthal ‏@Ken_Rosenthal · 3m3 minutes ago Maddon’s agent, Alan Nero, says he contacted several teams after opt-out. Expects 4 to 5 legit suitors. Says Maddon wants to explore FA.

....OK, I think Maddon would sell tickets -- just had no idea he'd be available.
  4. JB_Iowa
It would be criminal for the Twins to fail to inquire.
  5. JB_Iowa
Other than Ozzie (whom I would not want), I don't think any manager would have that much impact on ticket sales. And with Ozzie, I'd only be interested in seeing the train wreck.

Ryan said that there's no chance for top third-base prospect Miguel Sano to play winter ball. Ryan, who saw Sano last week in Fort Myers, said he looks good as he continues to rehab from Tommy John surgery in March http://www.1500espn.com/sportswire/Twins_GM_Terry_Ryan_We_are_in_the_home_stretch_of_manager_search102314

Well duh.... of course its the Rock Cats who moved, Breaking my arm also broke my brain.

I'm confused on the Glynn thing since the Twins AAA team is now in Tenn. What does "may not return to Rochester" mean? (This isn't facetious because I've read similar comments from sportswriters. I'm just confused.)
  9. JB_Iowa
I'm encouraged that he may look at others.

I may be the only female on earth who cannot find anything very attractive about Mr. Pitt.

I lean toward Lovullo because I have always wanted new blood from outside the organization. I know there were differences b/t Molly and Gardy but I still view Molitor as part of the Old Boys Club and I see Mient.... as needing a little more seasoning. I just wish they had more viable candidates from outside the organization.

Did you consult your wife, Jeremy? SDBuhr ‏@JimCrikket · 3h3 hours ago @jeremynygaard @SethTweets Fess up. Did you have to drug @kgib44 or kidnap a pet or something to get him to agree? Kyle Gibson ‏@kgib44 · 2h2 hours ago @JimCrikket @jeremynygaard @SethTweets They each agreed to name their next child Kyle for a boy, and Kylie for a girl. Its that easy.

Patrick Reusse ‏@1500ESPN_Reusse · 1h1 hour ago We won't have a Twins' manager on Thursday.
  14. JB_Iowa
I agree but stranger things have happened than the Twins re-signing him. Mike Berardino ‏@MikeBerardino · 4m4 minutes ago Jared Burton made 203 appearances (192 IP, 10 saves) for #MNTwins over past 3 seasons. Went 8-16, 3.47 ERA w/7.6 K/9, 3.0 BB/9. Mike Berardino ‏@MikeBerardino · 10m10 minutes ago As expected, #MNTwins have announced they declined $3.6 million option on RHP Jared Burton. Paid $200,000 buyout instead, making him a FA.

LaVelle E. Neal III ‏@LaVelleNeal · 3m3 minutes ago Twins have declined the 2015 option for RHP Jared Burton I suppose they could still bring him back on a new contract.

This whole search has not inspired me. Too much same old, same old.
  17. JB_Iowa
I'd find it interesting to know the age of the son and whether Molitor did work on that relationship. Although the early drug use bothers me, the 80's were a different time -- I never used but know many who did.

Do you still believe that the 25th man doesn't matter?

World Series starts Tuesday... FINALLY!!!!!!!!! KC for me in 5.

Mike Berardino ‏@MikeBerardino · 3h3 hours ago Major announcements may be made on World Series off days (Thursday, next Monday), but MLB must grant special permission. #MNTwins Darren Wolfson ‏@DarrenWolfson · 9m9 minutes ago Source: Twins GM Terry Ryan will meet with Paul Molitor again tomorrow. Word is owner Jim Pohlad will not be there. #mntwins Feel free to interpret.

Don't have any idea about most major leaguers but since I'm still catching up, I'll also post this nugget from Berardiino which bodes well on the maturity question: Hicks and longtime girlfriend Lauren Roberts have pushed back their original wedding date of Nov. 8, which should enable Hicks to follow through on his plans to play in Venezuela for the next month or so. The mere fact he has returned to winter ball should help his chances with the Twins going forward. http://blogs.twincities.com/twins/2014/10/15/twinsights-aaron-hicks-heads-venezuela/
  22. JB_Iowa
Just saw that Glynn is bench coach for Bravos de Margaritas. Hope that Hicks benefits from that.
  23. JB_Iowa
I have to see him come to ST on time, in shape and ready to go. Has he learned his lessons well enough to remember them over the winter?
  24. JB_Iowa
I do think the Twins have some additional costs operating TF vs the dome but overall I think they use the 50% "rule" to their advantage. And the rubs help the ribs taste great!

Can't believe its only the bottom of the 3rd,
