You'd have thought they might opt for a little more youth. This staff should be able to get a group rate on hip replacements. 5/7 born before 1961. At least I don't feel so old anymore,

BTW, why would anybody try to make a religious or scientific argument in blurbs of 140 characters or less?
  3. JB_Iowa
I can hear the First Amendment arguments now.

Well, Hughes worked out pretty well and there is still hope for Nolasco. You win some, you lose some. But if you never try, you always lose.

What in the world was Schilling doing spouting off in the first place? Do we really care about the religious views of a former pitcher? This is one of the things I hate about social media -- it gives everybody a platform for everything.

http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/franklin-barreto-the-key-to-the-josh-donaldson-trade/ While Lawrie will be the player watched most closely in 2015 from this deal, one exec I talked to last night said Franklin Barreto is the key to the deal, so let’s start with him. ,,,, Barreto is about as polished as a kid his age can be, with his position the only question, so if Oakland wants to move him quickly, moving him to second base could mean getting him to High-A later in his age-19 season and being a possible call-up to the big leagues late in his age-20 season if everything continues at this rate: think Rougned Odor.

http://rangersblog.dallasnews.com/2014/11/texas-rangers-on-torii-hunters-short-list.html/ Hunter told the Los Angeles Daily News on Saturday that Baltimore, Seattle and the Rangers are at the top of his list. Hunter said Minnesota, his otoriginal club, is also a possibility but not as likely as the other clubs

There s already a thread called Treor Plouffe - Trade Candidate, do we really need one specific to a trade to SF? The redundancy around here lately is really starting to make me grumpy.

RandBall ‏@RandBall · 48m48 minutes ago Had a fun chat with Eddie Guardado. He's in Texas for thanksgiving with LaTroy Hawkins and Torii Hunter. #MNTwins Hmm....

Good read. Get more intrigued by him every day.

I'm generally happy with the hires but overall there is still a stale feel. I hope that goes away in Spring Training.

http://blogs.twincities.com/twins/2014/11/22/twinsights-twins-showing-interest-veteran-slugger-wily-mo-pena/ Pena saw regular playing time with the Cincinnati Reds and Boston Red Sox between 2004-07. He pounded 45 combined homers (in 647 at-bats) for the Reds in 2004-05 before being traded the following spring to Boston for right-hander Bronson Arroyo. That was one of the first key moves made by then Reds general manager Wayne Krivsky, who later returned to the Twins’ front office as a special assistant to general manager Terry Ryan.

Mike Berardino ‏@MikeBerardino · 1h1 hour ago Carl Willis has been the pitching coach for 3 Cy Young seasons (CC, Lee, Felix) and, by his count, "8 or 9" All-Star seasons. #MNTwins Mike Berardino ‏@MikeBerardino · 13m13 minutes ago So, I counted it up and it's actually 12 All-Star seasons by 8 pitchers under Carl Willis: 6 #Indians, 6 #Mariners. Mike Berardino ‏@MikeBerardino · 11m11 minutes ago The Carl Willis All-Stars: Sabathia, Lee, Westbrook, Wickman, Pineda, League, Iwakuma, King Felix. I'm in. A reconnection to Twins past but significant ties to other organizations,

TR made it very clear up front that he would be deeply involved in decisions on the coaching staff. Not necessarily dictating but joint decisions,

They delayed the wedding date, though, so he could do Winter ball. I don't think they anticipated this,

http://blogs.twincities.com/twins/2014/11/13/twinsights-aaron-hicks-released-venezuelan-winter-team/ Not good news ... and have to wonder if there was more to it than a slump. Glynn was a coach so this could be interesting.

Wow, I'm always amazed by your analysis, Parker and by how clearly you explain it. Also, it is becoming more and more clear that Jack Goin and his team have lots of work in front of them

I found this article by Jon Heyman interesting: http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/writer/jon-heyman/24799997/max-contract-scherzer-front-quiet-but-boras-cites-maxs-stats-guts Both for some of the little tidbits on Max's stats and the need for an Ace in the Series and for a look at Boras' tactics -- overwhelming with info,

Rhett Bollinger ‏@RhettBollinger · 3m3 minutes ago #MNTwins Minor League catcher Alex Real was suspended 50 games for use of a banned stimulent. He was at Elizabethton last year. Does anyone keep track of this on other teams? Are the Twins #s consistent?
