    I'm guessing that once Plouffe comes back they will trade Carroll or Casilla before the Aug 31st deadline. Escobar will be up at some point as well I imagine. I'd prefer they dump both Casilla and Caroll before the deadline to be honest. Caroll for straight up salary relief (A's could use him) and Casilla for anything

    Hicks, Arcia and Benson a combined 0 for 10 with 5k's. Escobar 3 for 6. Guerra is continuing to be terrible. Sano 0 for 1 2BB so far. Vargas 2 for 3 with a HR. Rosario!! 2 for 4.

    Blackburn had a really nice outing. Wish we would have gotten him some runs there. Good game either way.

    Of course it is a good trade for the White Sox, they didn't give up any premium prospects and in return got a guy who could bolster their rotation. Just like the Rangers trade, they got a guy who helps the rotation without giving up anyone they will miss. Though the Cubs didn't "lose" the trade since they got a couple decent prospects back. That doesn't mean Ryan got fleeced or anything, it just means that the White Sox made a nice trade for themselves. You think the Indians are crying years later about the Pavano trade? Do we really think we "fleeced" them good when we gave up Pino for Pavano?

    Would have been nice, I think Broxton had quite a bit more value then Burton though with a longer track record and the whole "proven all star closer" garbage. Though Burton has another year of course. At this point I hope the Twins find a way to sign Burton to a 2-3 year extension after this season.

    Blackburn is awful this year, but even advanced metrics indicates he was solid for a few years (lifetime xFIP of 4.49). I never claimed Blackburn was anything more than a #5 and now he is flat out awful. I'm not sure what your fascination is with me on this subject. http://i50.tinypic.com/314eb0g.png

    ? You don't think his ridiculously low BABIP and high strand rate won't normalize down the stretch.
