  1. I think the Dodgers are the only ones who would possibly make a claim.
  2. It's not a forum issue, its an issue of a couple of posters. I'm not a fan of bannings, but when threads are getting derailed left and right by the same 2 or 3 you should think about issuing out some temp bans or something pig. It has nothing to do with positive or negative, there are a couple people who continue to crap up the place. While I may not agree with a guy like Thrylos on many topics at least he brings value to threads in new information/new thoughts.
  3. Arcia was the key for me. I suddenly have a glut of OF, anyone interested in Gardner?
  4. 2012 off-season- Trade Span for pitching 2013 off-season- Trade Revere for pitching 2014 OF alignment- Hicks CF, Arcia, Benson, Willingham DH, Mastrio 4th OF
  5. As per the first image: 2012 Salary: 100 million you dolt. They save approx 2 million with the Liriano trade. Nothing else was saved to this point. Christ, I feel bad for even spending the 2 minutes it took to respond to your iditoic post at this point. Hopefully now other posters can realize you spew nothing but bull****.
  6. Sano ended up 2 for 5 Rosario went 3 for 5 Hermann had 3 hits and a HR Benson 1-3 Harrison 0 for 5 3k's.
  7. It runs rampant throughout the entire major leagues. I don't see anything wrong with it to be honest. Not like he will be taking much money or a spot from someone more deserving at this point.
  8. Yeah.... you are completely wrong: As per Cot's, which has a lot more credibility then a random message board poster here ya go: http://i46.tinypic.com/wyz5.png 100 mil for 2012. Here is the specific breakdown for this year, (Zumaya was cut off FWIW) http://i45.tinypic.com/34e4yv9.png
  9. I can't state it enough. Both Baker and the Twins had every reason in the world to try to do everything but resort to surgery this season. Why? Baker was/is an impending free agent. Baker loses a ton of value by missing the season, and the Twins lose out all value on what was now a short term investment.
  10. Me and Kab made a trade: I get: Sano Robbie Erlin Arcia Hendriks He gets: Harvey Matt Dominguez Alex Torres I hate giving up Harvey but glad I get a high upside pitcher in Erlin back (top 50-100 in a lot of lists) hopefully he doesn't need TJS. Sano and Arcia are what they are and Hendriks hopefully becomes another #3/#4 in my rotation. Dominguez and Torres would have both been cut from my team at the end of the year anyways so I see it as a 1 for 4 trade personally.
  11. There is also the long shot that Nishioka could contribute as well, and a guy like Mastrionni could potentially play some 2B as well. You can live with a couple crappy bats in the lineup as long as the other 7 are solid. People seem to forget the Twins won multiple division titles with guys like Punto, Tolbert, Castro, Bautista, etc getting a ton of at bats. Plus we could probably got out and get a guy like Kelly Johnson to handle 2B who would be rather affordable if we needed to.
  12. Yeah I am a bit curious on that as well.If anything it looks like a solid but not great pitching class, also I'd wager there is a damn good chance that Sanchez never sees the Free Agent market (from what I have been told), and wouldn't be shocked if Grienke didn't see it as well.
  13. I'm sure someone will fall through the cracks like they usually do.It should also be pointed out that if they trade a guy like Span they could bring back a legit SP that still has 3+ years of team control (basically no real cost to the team in 2013) Perhaps we could be on the other end of a Garza/Young swap this time. (Not saying we will get someone with as high of an upside as Garza) but getting a solid young pitcher back for Span shouldn't be out of the question. I sorta wonder if the Rangers will be desperate for OF after this season once they inevitably lose Hamilton.
  14. ' Agreed, I don't think he should spend just to spend. But if you can find another Willingham type signing (for an SP) then give them a 2-3 year deal for a team friendly salary. If not, spend that money on 1 year deals. No such thing as a bad one year deal for the most part.
  15. Diamond now has thrown a quality start in 11 of his 16 games. In 4 of the non QS games he only gave up 4 ER. Dude is consistently putting the Twins in a chance to win the game if the offense shows up, did he have his faults today? Yes. But the Twins still should have won, the lack of hitting with RISP this year seems to be killing them in games like this.
  16. If the payroll stays at 100 million, that gives them at least 25 mil to spend, trading Carroll (3.5 mil), cutting Casilla (2 mil), or trading Span (5 mil?) would free up even more. That is plenty of money to "make a splash" in free agency. Hell, Ryan was able to take 10 million and sign Doumit and Willingham this off-season.
  17. Again as it has been mentioned before you don't just go around and fire everyone, it is apparent from his latest statements that changes will be made this off-season. The Baker "debacle" still puzzles me, multiple doctors didn't think he needed Tommy John and they only found out he needed it once they cut him open. That whole thing was bizzarre.
  18. This is Ryan's first year back at the helm, last time he was GM they weren't having these issues with the medical team. I agree changes need to be made, but what is he supposed to do? Fire everyone in the middle of the season? I imagine a lot of these doctors have contracts with the team as well, hopefully he evaluates what is wrong during the off-season, fire who needs to be fired and make the changes that need to be made.
  19. The Twins seem to just not be able to get any clutch hits this season.
  20. I would argue that Hicks has shown power. He already has 10 HR this year, and his isop (.168) is the highest it has been since the GCL. I doubt he will ever be a threat to hit 30, but at this point with his age and steady improvement there is no reason why he can't be a 20 HR threat. That IMO is good enough for the "power" tool. Sorry not trying to nitpick to closely as a 55/60 are almost the same thing. I just think Hicks at this point settles in as an average CF at worst with the ceiling to be a better version of Span OBP, SLG, HR, FLD and SB wise.
  21. Rick Santorum > Gray Michelle Bachman > Gray NickelBack >Gray
  22. Man, last nights loss still stings, wish we were going for the sweep today. No Revere for the 2nd day in a row?
