  1. You sure? Since coming back he has pitched 3.1 IP, 3 ER, 8 H.
  2. I'd bet he has been picked off 6 times this year. 12 out of 24 is pretty awful.
  3. I too think that Hicks is to low, also the 55 seems a bit conservative as well. At the very least I think he is a 60 "solid major leaguer" and he really doesn't lack any tools at all at this point. If the power is legit (thinking 15-20 HR a year) and he can manage to hit .270 or so, he suddenly becomes a very nice CF, and possibly one of the best leadoff men in the game.
  4. Yeah, I think it probably means we won't see him in Minnesota this Sept as they will still be cautious with his innings.
  5. Lol yes, let's trade a top prospect like Hicks for the hell of it, or Parmelee who has next to zero value since he doesn't get any major league playing time. That will fix things!
  6. Pods has 17 games in the past 2 years and Pierre is about to be 35.
  7. Guerra has been garbage in AAA over the past couple months.
  8. That is a really good point. Guys like Sanchez, Jackson, Marcum all look good on paper, but if you have to give them 3 years/42 million or so it could eventually kill your club moving forward.
  9. I honestly think after this season the Twins should trade Revere at his high point, the return won't be as great but I worry about Revere's ability to continue to hit above .310 moving forward. If he dips down to the .275 range he suddenly becomes a rather weak link in a persons lineup. Though having his speed in the lineup is nice as well, plus he is super cheap. In regards to Span, it should be noted that for the most part there weren't exactly a ton of top prospects that were traded this trade season, the package for Grienke wasn't awful, but only had one real nice player and even he isn't that special. Guys that were rated high prior to 2012 like Cox and Turner were traded, but both have lost a bit of value with medicore 2012 campaigns. I'm not sure if its the new FA compensation plan or the fact that teams are now capped in the draft, but teams seem to be holding onto there prospects much tighter this year.
  10. Jason Marquis as a Twins > Gray
  11. Honestly, it is/was in-defense-able, at this point it is best to just try to put it past us all and laugh/cry about it. I get the idea of not throwing Perkins out there at that point, I don't think it's right but I understand his point. Perhaps he would have brought Perkins out for the 10th if they made it? Still, you gotta go with your best arm at that point regardless. What I don't understand is why Jeff Gray is even on this roster, hopefully this was the last straw and we will see someone up from the minors soon.
  12. True, at this point its not worth getting worried about. Let's see what he has to work with this off-season, what trades happen and what free agents he is able to bring in. He did a hell of a job last off-season with a limited budget in bringing in Willingham and Doumit. Hopefully he can bring in similar (just SP) this off-season. It also seems like he is acknowledging there are holes in the lineup, $100 says he is talking about 2B/SS, hopefully they can address the MI as well somehow.
  13. "I'm not banking on free agency, to be honest. If you keep banking on free agency, you'll end up chasing your tail. This is not going to be a free agency approach. This is going to be no shortcuts and doing the job the way it's supposed to be done. And that's usually that's with young, development, scouting and picking the right people." Later in the article it says they should have 15-20 million to spend, so its not exactly like he won't pick up some players via Free Agency, he is just (correctly) stating the Twins need to improve in all aspects of the org. Sounds correct to me.
  14. Rubechat > Gray
  15. I think he/people are reading to much into it. Ryan is correct, you can't just fix a club by throwing a ton of money in free agency, you have to be smart with the contracts you sign out. Hopefully he can find the Willingham of pitchers on the market and can trade Span or someone for another pitcher.
  16. We have a new winner.
  17. Bill Smith's GM Skills > Jeff Gray
  18. Sean Bergman > Jeff Gray
  19. Continue...
  20. What a ****ty game, ****ing Jeff Gray I hope he is DFA'ed within the hour.
  21. Spankind! Here's a thought, how about if Revere continues to play well we trade Revere in the off-season and keep Span around?
  22. Maybe this was Gray's "last chance" Hopefully it was. Bring up ANYONE with a potential future at this point.
  23. Why the **** was ****ing gray in this game? ?????
