  1. I realize how they are set, but typically its a pretty good indication of where the experts will think things will finish up. (Give or take a game or two to create additional action etc)
  2. The shocking thing to me is the Twins are 15 games behind the 4th place AL Central Team. So about that whole equal on field talent thing....
  3. I am actually gonna bet the farm on the Twins if I can get that line in Vegas in a couple weeks. 65 wins shouldn't be THAT hard, right? Courtesy of Atlantis Casino Resort: Detroit Tigers: 90 Los Angeles Dodgers: 90 Washington Nationals: 90 Los Angeles Angels: 89½ Cincinnati Reds: 88½ Texas Rangers: 87 Toronto Blue Jays: 86½ New York Yankees: 86½ San Francisco Giants: 86 Atlanta Braves: 86 Tampa Bay Rays: 86 St. Louis Cardinals: 85½ Oakland Athletics: 83 Philadelphia Phillies: 81½ Arizona Diamondbacks: 81½ Chicago White Sox: 80½ Milwaukee Brewers: 79½ Boston Red Sox: 79½ Kansas City Royals: 79 Pittsburgh Pirates: 79 Cleveland Indians: 77½ Baltimore Orioles: 76½ Seattle Mariners: 76½ San Diego Padres: 74½ New York Mets: 74 Chicago Cubs: 72 Colorado Rockies: 71½ Minnesota Twins: 64½ Miami Marlins: 64½ Houston Astros: 59½
  4. How is Michael Bourn Chone Figgins version 2.0? Also Swisher is a good bet to stay pretty solid for the next 3-4 years.
  5. not asking for excuses brock, asking for solutions.
  6. I think Revere will ultimately go onto to have a pretty long and "meh" career at the plate but has some great defense and speed, much like Juan Pierre, however that certainly has value as does Pierre, so Revere at the end of the day goes down as a success in my book.
  7. exit physical? Is it common for every player to get an end of the year X-ray/MRI/etc when the season finishes up? If Diamond didn't experience any pain I don't see why they would give him an extensive check after the season etc
  8. Bring back Radke on a ten day contract and let him have at it.
  9. Not my tax dollars! I have never said payroll doesn't matter, I have been saying I wouldn't give out any 2 year contracts that restrict payroll for 2014 on forward when we have a good shot to compete. Also the entire off-season I was saying I wanted to give guys like Johnson, Marcum and Saunders one year deals. Though maybe giving guys like Hendriks and lesser guys like DeDuno a longer look this year it could be more beneficial for the future as well (let's find out who is legit and who isn't). We really should have tried to bring in a MI with upside though. That is very disappointing.
  10. The ignore feature is pretty nice, but can you make it ignore/block when people qoute a person on your ignored list? i.e. Jokin is on my ignore list, but when someone quotes him I have to be subjected to his "comments", is there a way to just have it block 100% of a users posts? It would make the Twinsdaily experience much better. Thanks!
  11. This ignore feature is pretty nice.
  12. I am going to disagree with you, we lost Span, Revere, Baker, Pavano and replaced them with Worley and Correia for the most part. However I think we will get more wins then last year, because injuries hit us HARD last year.
  13. LOL this is basically the same as going up to the fat girl at the beach and telling her "you are the most beautiful woman here" while there are solid 718's, 818's and 919's all over the place. Listen, I am as big of a homer as they come when they come to the Twins, and I still hold hope that ALL goes right and they compete this year, but the Twins on field talent on paper is pretty weak, they have question marks arguably at the following positions (SP,SP,SP,SP, RP, 1B, 3B,SS,2B, RF, CF)
  14. Why are the Twins signing guys who can potentially be good SP or very good RP when they could be signing a 7th AAAA Catcher? God, it's clear Terry Ryan just doesn't care any more.
  15. Brandi Dinkelman is my breakthrough season WAG
  16. Yeah, if healthy I wouldn't mind locking Justin up to a 2-3 year deal, I think people forget just how dominant Justin was when he was healthy, I like Parmelee but I don't think he will ever be an average 1st baseman hitting wise. Morneau could stick until Sano is ready.
  17. I just miss mullet and itstimetotakeit talk
  18. I dunno man, at least our resident mouth breathers at BYTO had awesome mullets or awesome youtube videos to soften the blow.
  19. It should be noted that Wilson Ramos injury history makes Mauer look like Cal Ripken.
  20. I'd really prefer you just start banning those people that Pseudo mentions, it's sure as hell why I stayed off this forum (and several others had) for the past month or so, unfortunately I got roped back in by one stupid thread. Either way if those people stick around throughout the season I can't see myself participating or even lurking this forum very much, as it really just devolves into rubechat version 2.0. I will still read the articles though, but the forum is in serious trouble of turning into a toxic wasteland.
  21. There obviously is no one "important" stat when it comes to pitching, but if you are going to go down that road you'd be better served at looking at quality starts, at least then if you see a high number you have a good idea that a pitcher is at least giving you some solid innings and keeping you in the game. Albeit QS is flawed to, I have a hard time believing that 6 IP, 3ER is somehow more valuable then 8IP 4ER etc
  22. Meh, I mean its hope, gotta roll with something to get us through the first couple weeks of the season, after that the crushing reality may very well set in, but it would be nice to get off to a bit of a nice start to keep the delusional homers like my self appeased.
  23. Yeah unfortunately out of that group Gibson is the only guy who best case scenario could project higher then a #3 (I still think his ceiling is as a good #2, which is at least a start). At this point you sorta hope that Diamond and Worley can both be legit #3 type guys and Hendriks and Pelfrey can be #4 guys. Nobody else really interests me other then Harden and he is a long shot anyways, the rest of the guys IMO will be up and down throughout the year, maybe one will stick as a#5 guy, Correia? But I'm not holding my breath to be honest. At least we have some arms this year, now they just gotta stay healthy.
  24. Morneau has only one year left and with a solid start to the season suddenly builds trade value has hasn't had the past 12 months, Doumit at least serves a purpose as being a split guy with Mauer while keeping Mauer a bit more healthy, Willingham as discussed in other threads has been shopped before by the Twins, going into 2013 he is the only established major league starting OF on the roster, if Hicks/Benson/Parmelee all prove worthy then trade him, if not wait until you get a good offer like Span and Revere. Carroll has like zero trade value and at this point is blocking no one, other then Dozier potentially catching fire I dont see one legit MI on this roster in 2013 who will step up Florimon, etc all project as util guys as does Dozier at this point. Correia sucks but it is what it is at this point, nobody from the minors is really knocking on the door to get ML innings this year except Gibson (limited IP) and Hendriks, with the rest of the rotation in um...shambles, its not to far fetched to think not a single worthy pitcher will be blocked this year when it comes to getting starts.
  25. LOL who is being the condescending prick now? Instead of playing the holier then now schtick how about you respond to the actual arguments at hand?
