  1. He also has been a **** ton better at home then on the road (.300 ops wise) Perhaps he is having too good a time when at the hotel bars?
  2. Let me be the first to eat crow in regards to my dozier comments, the kid has been on absolute FIRE this June, and appears he could possibly give us 10-15 HR and at least a high .600s or low .700s moving fwd while playing solid at 2B Hope it continues as he could be a nice stop gap at the very least until Rosario is ready in 2015
  3. Yup! Correia has more or less been out poor mans "healthy Pavano" for half the price. Until we have 5 obvious starters better than him, no need to dump him unless someone overpays for him. Also healthy Pavano was a damn nice asset for this team
  4. Trading Doumit now would be a huge mistake, he's not bringing back anything of value, and it's highly likely that his value is maxed out on this twins team (with a catcher like Mauer who needs more DH days then your normal catcher)
  5. That is only .20 of a difference, it's not really a huge cause of concern IMO. It's not like his ERA is 3.87 and his xFIP is 5.50+
  6. If Correia can keep this up there is no reason to dump him for nothing.
  7. I dont see what the rush is right now anyways. It should be pretty cut and dry: If the Twins are within 4-5 games around the deadline, then you think about adding some pieces (without giving up any real prospects) and take a miracle run at the playoffs. If they are 8+ games out then you sell whatever you can (but maybe not sell super low on guys like Willingham just for the sake of selling) The real kicker is, what do you do if you are 6-7 games out at the time?
  8. Keep in mind that any of these "big trade splashes" would have meant us trading multiple top prospects back in the day, guys such as Liriano, Morneau, Kubel etc just for a rental.
  9. Since Gardy is basically managing for his job I doubt he will be thrilled with trading Willingham or Morneau, if that happens I think they need to let Gardy stick around next year (as long as they don't lose 100 games) he has done a pretty good job thus far with the turd roster he was handed. As of now this looks like a 75-78 win team, I think that earns him another year with a team that has a shot to compete in 2014
  10. Also Meyer has been pretty damn solid, I am very happy with the span trade, and may looks like he could stick as well. Not bad for trading a 4th OF who is doing poor for the Phillies anyways!
  11. Slowey is not a good pitcher, no the twins should NOT be targeting him, we have enough bad pitchers on the team and in the minors. I love how the Slowey apologists continue to make excuses for him, unbelievable. Clearly teams, managers and GMs have passed this future ace over time and time again
  12. The thing with Gibson is the twins want and need him to pitch like a number 2 when he is called up, so if they still have things to improve with him, there is no rush. While I don't doubt he could "hold his own" now, I want him to come up and be a game changer in the majors, not just another mid to back end guy
  13. I'd hate to see him go, he is one of my favorite players and he is signed on a nice deal for us, the last thing we need to do is make another Capps trade or go over pay for a closer on the FA market. I get that closers are over rated, but Perkins is something special, id only trade him if we got major league ready SP or MI in return which won't happen
  14. FYI the App Store has an MiLB app which shows pitch by pitch and play by play for all AA and AAA teams
  15. He is a 4th rounder, I think its kind of silly to call any 4th rounder a "reach" especially one who actually has some upside according to folks. By the 4th round its such a crapshoot anyways that you might as well take a lottery ticker or two.
  16. Mauer is also on pace for the most doubles in a year in his career, and the 2nd most home runs in a season for his career this year as well. He has the third highest slugging percentage of his career this year and the 2nd highest OPS+ of his career this year. I'm not really worried, if anything he might be trying to hit for a little more power this year, which is something people have been whining about for years it seems like. I think the "low walks" is an indication of the fact that he is NEVER hitting with runners in scoring position or even runners on that much, this means that teams really have no reason to pitch around him or get cute. In 26 games in May he struck out 31 times, which I am quite confident is a true career high, however in May he also put up a .371/.455/.571 line. So with all that said, I'm not really concerned at all considering Mauer is aruguably having the 2nd best season of his career, and he is doing it with one of the "worst" protection around him since arriving in Minnesota. Just imagine what he could be putting up if he is surrounded by Buxton, Sano, Hicks, Arcia in a couple years....
  17. The "I played baseball" bit is tied and pointless. I am prob one of maybe 3 or 4 people who still play baseball at this point (I still suck), that doesn't make my opinion any more valid then anyone else's. Keith Law looks like he couldn't even swing a 32 bat, that doesn't mean he doesn't know about baseball.
  18. Why do they need to be "around" each other? They all play diff positions, not like they are double play partners etc
  19. I realize that, but those 3 will prob be in high demand, also Gardy has always said he would Like Ozzie on staff.
  20. I as well hate it when a regional sports network doesn't do exactly what I want for an 11am broadcast on a monday!
  21. If Sano does well in AA he will be up in Sept to get the fans all hot and bothered, again as with the case of Hicks, if Sano is somehow "ready" and earns a starting gig out of the gate in 2014 then you bring him north (still a long shot I think), but again its a great problem to have.
  22. The complaining in this thread is hilarious.
