  1. Also it can't be emphasized enough that a guy like Tulo or Hamels not only helps immensely this year, but over the next few years as well. Which is why I'm not saying to go out and get a David Price type.
  2. The Twins are 3 games ahead in the playoff race with a couple months left to go in the season. That is why people are saying "go for it"
  3. Hamels for Gibson and Berrios makes sense because you instantly have one of the better staffs in baseball with: Hamels Santana Hughes may As far as 5th pitcher goes you have any number of guys such as: Milone, Graham, Meyer, Hu, Duffey in the next couple years. Hamels is a legit top of the rotation bonfied ace and almost a guarantee that you win every time he is on the mound. Gibson is mid rotation tops, and more likely then not that's where Berrios ends up slotting in at as well.
  4. Hughes and Santana both looked pretty damn good, Miloneand Pelfrey looked "ok", gibby is the only one struggling
  5. I think people are way to hard on season 2, yeah it's not as great as season 1 but it has been pretty damn good television overall, especially the last few episodes. The writing has been suspect, I feel bad for Vaughn, his character could be so much better with some slightly better lines and deeper arc then "bad guy goes good but turns bad again"
  6. It very well might be true within the next few hours. Kinda sad to see him fall like this, looked like a real special pitcher when he first came into the league.
  7. Relevant (possible NSFW subject matter, but not really) http://www.theonion.com/article/donald-trump-stares-forlornly-at-tiny-aged-penis-i-28589
  8. No I was saying that he has nothing left and will be cut because of that, just gave up an absolute BOMB to Ortiz. I don't want him on the twins unless they can send him to AAA.
  9. That's a good question, I almost think he would be to fringe and toxic for his own good. Seems like most of the GOP is distancing themselves from him. What's funny about trump is he doesn't care nor has any reason to care about anything about his own brand, if he burns the GOP's chances to the ground in 2016 I don't think he minds one bit.
  10. Bonnes, are you speaking about your girlfriend being a Yankee lover? I am more curious on how Mrs. Bonnes feels about that
  11. Yeah I'm pretty lukewarm on Meyer at this point, he's not exactly real young either. So the chances of him turning it back around seem a bit minimal, but here's to hoping.
  12. Because that helps the old ERA quite a bit as well.
  13. His HR rate was also overdue to come down.
  14. Energy has never been the issue, it's just bad approaches at the plate after a tough loss it seems.
  15. Twins need to aim higher than Norris long term IMO.
  16. I don't want to trade him yet. But they have Rosario who has LH pop, Hicks as well. Vargas?
  17. Yeah, I think maybe it just means there is little chance he doesn't hit FA, thus limiting the Twins chances of keeping him since they wouldn't be able to work anything out prior to him hitting free agency. Maybe all for the best, I have doubts he can stick at Catcher personally. Twins have enough 1B, DH etc spots currently and giving him 4-5 years could be a huge mistep for this team.
  18. Maybe it's for the best, the deadline is this week and the Twins "holes" have been looking pretty suspect as of late (RP, SS, C) No more standing around, TR has to make some moves this week or risk letting a potential special season fade away.
  19. Well not bad, I guess smith was Ok hitting. Bad: Juan Castro
  20. speaking of bad hitting SS:Ozzie Smith
  21. Johan and Carlos respectively I am guessing
  22. Even with this rather poor stretch of games 3-6, the twins still are 3 up in the wild card. Thankfully everyone is sorta just sitting on the fringe thus far. KC is likely out of reach at this point IMO, stranger things have happened, but the addition of Cueto prob adds at least a win or two more that would be needed to catch them.
  23. maybe take Rosario out and put in a mid range prospect? Berrios and Gibson for Hamels essentially (nolasco as salary relief, or not) would be a no brainier for the Twins and provide enough upside to the Phils I think. Hamels Hughes Santana May Would be a real nice start to a rotation for the next few years.
  24. I still think he has the potential to be that #2 type, the results have certainly been there as of late.
  25. This thread is encouraging just in the fact that we have so many guys who are this close to the majors (or in the majors and still in their prime) to contribute now and in the near future. A similar thread like this re: the Tigers or Yankees would look pretty ugly.
