  1. Trump is certainly not a Democrat. Trump is most likely not a republican (like 95%) Trump most certainly is a jackass.
  2. Yes, I would bring in Lee. Unfortunately there are about 10 better teams that would want him as well. He would be best served going to a contender.
  3. GO GET HIM TERRY!
  4. Money is only one area, if they don't want to spend more money that's fine, but if that is the case it would be nice if they actually held people in the organization accountable for any failures of the team etc
  5. Yeah there were a few articles on it today, also he uses the same phrase in season 1 as well. Also, there is conjecture that Mr. Wrench and Mr Numbers were the two kids that were getting bullied.
  6. This was touched upon briefly in a now dead thread, but the question was brought up: Fair question no doubt, I think "Satisfied" is the wrong word personally. Now, I am not saying the Pohlad's don't want to win, or are trying not to win, but I don't think its a stretch to suggest that maybe winning isn't and hasn't been the Pohlad's number one objective...well...ever. I would be happy if the Twins had an owner who valued winning at the top of their agenda. I brought up the Vikings as a comparison, Ziggy Wilf should be credited with trying to make the Vikings into a winner, he holds his coaches, GM's accountable for failures and is somewhat quick to pull the trigger on needed changes to right the ship. Now while it is a bit silly to call the Vikings a winning organization, it should be noted that in the last 20 years they have actually had a good amount of overall success, they have made the NFC championship game 3 times, and in two of those should have made the super bowl if it weren't for some all time classic Minnesota Viking chokes. In addition, the Vikings have made bold moves time and time again to make themselves competitive, have they won any super bowls, or even made a super bowl? Will they ever win a super bowl? Nope (it is our fate as Vikings fans) but they have been an entertaining team to watch and it is good to know that Wilf is committed to trying to bring a super bowl to Minnesota someday. With the Pohlads, nothing ever changes, they have basically said that the GM has the role until he doesn't want it anymore. That is sort of the opposite of building a winning culture as it shows a lack of accountability IMO. So the question is: Would you rather have an owner like Ziggy Wilf, or like Jim Pohlad?
  7. Ryan's inactivity has frustrated me too, but I don't see what that has to do with the Twins signing a guy to a minor league contract. This move doesn't stop them from doing any other move since it is a minor league signing.
  8. So what are your feelings on Zack Jones secondary pitches?
  9. Also if you are going to credit for TR rebuilding the Twins from the ashes (I still don't see it as it took them 4 years to have a super lucky season to get 83 wins) then you should also acknowledge that when he left the GM post originally he left Bill Smith with a bad farm system and a team that was quickly going under. Ryan is a big reason why the Twins were such a mess by 2012.
  10. The Royals, Cubs, Stros, Pirates all made good moves to make their teams better to reach that next step (to go along with the prospects) Terry Ryan has not done that especially this off-season. The Pirates, Royals, Cubs and Stros are all miles ahead of what the Twins are currently.
  11. Also Brock, if you go back and read, I only brought up Ryan's 90's record because there was a discussion involving his overall record the past 17 years (when in fact part of that record was with Smith at the helm)
  12. Not true at all, his 90's "moves and blunders" are relevant today because it speaks to his overall track record in his 17 years at the helm. If he is going to be praised time and time again for his Liriano, Nathan trade, then we need to look at the trades and moves that didn't work out. As far as him "rebuilding a bad team in 2011" it shouldn't take this long anyways, especially when you have the payroll potential he has and a farm system that was already stocked to the brim (during many of the Bill Smith era drafts) It's all a moot discussion anyways, this organization would never fire Ryan anyways, if it was any other team Ryan would have been gone years ago. Your comparison to Dayton Moore is irrelevant, if Dayton Moore were a GM for 17 years and only won one post season series he would have been let go. Moore however has numerous post season series wins, two world series appearances and 1 title. Thus Moore >>>>>>>>>>>> Ryan. The whole goal in baseball is to win the world series, not "come close as you can to .500 overall over the course of a couple decades"
  13. Wake up sheeple!
  14. It will be earlier than that, the baby boomers seem to be "coming around" overall, its their parents generation and the generation immediately before them that currently resists the most "change" "Gay Marriage", "planned parenthood", "Obamacare etc I know we place a lot of economic blame etc on the baby boomers, but let's not forget they were the first generation to fight for social change (equal rights, end to Vietnam, and don't even get me started on what they did for music as a whole!)
  15. I hope not. If he shows up anywhere I hope it's season 3, but not as a main character, maybe in an episode or two.
  16. 4 out of 7 aint bad....right? right!?!
  17. Wow, what a finale and what a season! Love that they brought back Molly, Collin Hanks, and old Lou for a scene this season! As far as Hanzee, I don't think he ends up being Malvo (I guess he could be the mob boss that Malvo actually kills in season 1) but I hope either him or Milligan show up in season 3 somehow (not as a main character, but just a way to "end' their storyline) Also LOVED how they wrapped up the UFO storyline. With two seasons in the books, I rank it somewhere in the top 6 or so series I have ever watched: The Wire Breaking Bad Sopranos Fargo Deadwood The Shield If it can keep this up at this level for another 2-3 seasons, best. show. ever.
  18. Very "The Shield" like for Milligan
  19. I agree with this, dems in general are poor about getting out to local, state, mid term elections. I think it will change over time though as people see what a GOP house+senate will try to do, (defund planned parenthood etc)
  20. Vegas would disagree
  21. That is actually going to be hard as well.
  22. Suzuki played perfectly fine in 2014 to be a starter, the problem is 2015 he took a big step back and a 50/50 guy was needed to pair him with IMO.
  23. Santorum is a terrible person, he would have gotten smoked by Obama as well. Agreed the next GOP president will fit that mold, I don't see it with Rubio TBH, Kasich, maybe, Paul, maybe, but neither guy has a shot. The Trump/Carson supporters present a huge problem moving forward IMO. Trump could be a thorn in the side for multiple election cycles.
