  1. Congress-members are supposed to vote based on the wishes of their constitutes, are people really trying to bash Hilary Clinton a senator from freaking New York (9/11) for believing what the POTUS and co were saying and voting yes on the war? Once again, people are looking really, really hard for something that doesn't exist when it comes to Hilary.
  2. Yeah, I have a hard time blaming anyone for voting on the Iraq War back in the day, Bush and co basically fed congress a **** salad and told them Sadam was building WMD's and was going to send everyone back to the stone age, plus things were pretty shaky after 9/11 and all that jazz. I have a hard time blaming anyone who voted for the war since they had no real reason to know that their pres, VP etc were feeding them **** sandwiches on this data. Bernie playing the "i told you so" card is annoying and cheap pandering.
  3. Yeah, Brooklyn is in big big trouble, they basically traded away their entire draft for the next 4-5 years and don't have anyone to build around, basically they will need to build through free agency and hit a couple lottery tickets.
  4. 10000000x thisSano will be fine at 3rd base, at least for a few years. At that point Mauer is likely gone (or reduced role) and you can move Sano to 1st base anyways worst case scenario. AJ is the perfect example, we didn't need him and traded him for anything we could get: which was a hard throwing RP, a prospect who projected to be a 5th/6th starter, and a low level talented but injury prone Sp.....not a top 100 prospect amongst them IIRC. how did that work out again? edit: Wow, Bonser was #29 prospect in baseball at the time of the trade. edit part 2: oops never mind, he was #29 the year before the trade.
  5. The problem is, if you let the circus die down, then there will be another 10 teams lining up to get him. You gotta take him now if you want the chance.
  6. If Rose doesn't approve of him I could see it happen. Also the Bulls fanbase is ridiculous, I could see them running him out of town after one season. Hoiberg would be so so so so great.
  7. JOE!!!!!!!! You live, I assumed Stat tracked you done and gave you a non refundable boom daddy to the chin that ended you.
  8. Mitchell is such a **** coach, reports today saying that all the players have questioned his terrible plans/plays etc. If I were the T Pups I would very seriously consider dumping Mitchell now and bringing in Blatt with an offer he can't refuse. (My home run would be to somehow get Hoiberg to come coach the team, but I think he sticks in Chi town)
  9. Yeah, if he doesn't have the last name of Hunter that season and signing would be viewed as a negative by EVERYONE. But once again, Minnesota love to bring back their former past Minnesota greats, any shortcomings will be dismissed and we will get some nonsense about how since he led dance parties it somehow made the Twins player harder and win games. Maddening.
  10. 20 "Bombs" and 80 "RBI's" is the bare minimum one should expect from a no field "veteran" corner OF. I'm not going to get into the whole leadership thing again, but apparently it wasn't enough since the Twins fell short of the playoffs. Nobody was clamoring for Pinto to start at DH...if anything people were asking for Sano much earlier. Pretty much everyone could tell objectively that Cruz was going to be a better player then Hunter.
  11. Christie is to fat, that is a terrible role model for the nation. It is not ok to be 400 pounds (unless you are some insane in shape O lineman), it's a drain on everyone's health care costs eventually.
  12. I just find that short guys in power are never a good thing.
  13. I don't understand all the hate towards Hildawg, she is basically a clone of what Biden would be running on if he ran for Prez, which is more or less what Obama has been working towards. I get that she can be a bit flip floppy at times (I don't see this as a huge issue personally) and the whole e-mail scandal (IMO not a big deal), plus she doesn't have that "charisma" factor that Bill and Obama had, but other than that I think she will be a damn fine president.
  14. This is going to sound dumb, but I can't get behind a 5 foot 8 MALE president. Sorry Paul, sorry Cruz.
  15. Zero Foreign Policy. I disagree with him raising taxes on basically everyone, and I disagree with his health care and college plans.
  16. Even though I want the Twins to first and foremost spend on better FA, yes, Payroll should be larger, the number I have thrown out time and time again is $120-$135 million per year.
  17. How much does this volunteer job pay (in beer)?
  18. Did it? 10 million dollars for a 0.5 WAR player? Hitting wise he was one of the worst corner OF in baseball, ditto with fielding wise. How is that "worked out fine"? If they signed Cruz like many of us suggested the Twins would have found themselves in the playoffs.
  19. So unnecessary. Go back to the baby blue ones if you need to trot out a reason for people to buy a whole new style of jersey.
  20. Astros sign Fister 1 year 7 million. Could have been a nice pickup by the Twins if we didn't give Nolasco+Hughes+Santana a bajillion combined years and almost 200 million. Oh well, I guess that is why the Stros are on the rise!
  21. No, actually it isn't out of context considering Ryan said it during an interview saying he was planning on keeping Plouffe. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2015/12/terry-ryan-twins-plan-to-keep-trevor-plouffe.html
  22. "Plouffe had the most RBI's last year, why on earth would you want to trade him?"- Terry Ryan Sadly this is more or less a real quote by a GM in 2016.
  23. Yeah, I like Bernie as a senator as well. But I DONT like his a president, and I don't think he would make a very good one either.
  24. So part of me is beggining to think the best thing that could happen to this country would be the following: 1. Trump Wins the GOP nomination 2. Sanders wins the Dem nomination Neither of these guys are going to get any real votes from the middle or anyone close to the middle, and honestly as a democrat I would never vote for Bernie either. His tax plan is a freaking joke: and the USA is not set up to be socialist http://www.vox.com/2016/1/22/10814798/bernie-sanders-tax-rates (I know it works in Canada and the UK, but it can't work in the US at this stage) And his idea of making college free for everyone is a disaster, this country needs LESS people going to college, not more. 3. Bloomberg runs as an independent and actually wins a good chunk of states. I don't think Bloomberg could win enough to gain the presidency in that scenario, but it might be just enough to begin to crumble the corrupt and broken two party system we currently have, Bloomberg actually would make a great president and I would prefer him over every single other candidate besides HillDawg.
  25. Jim was 47 years old at the time of the contraction talks and was the clear heir to the family fortune/(Including the Twins) I'd say it would take someone some significant logic hoops to jump through for a person to think that Jim had no idea what was going on at the time. All Jim has shown is to be as conservative (if not more) than his father. At least Carl gave the go ahead for a "splurge" in 91, so no, he doesn't get to be given a blank slate and benefit of the doubt.
