  1. Why not just DFA Plouffe? Nobody wants to trade for him (or his salary) at this point, just do the right thing for him and everyone involved. Cut him. Get Sano the everyday reps at 3rd base, and let Plouffe get picked up by a contending team looking for an extra bat/depth.
  2. If they send Sano down this team is even dumber than I thought, Molitor needs to be fired. He might be the worst manager in all of baseball.
  3. Way to hedge your bets
  4. Oklahoma is the most reliable red state there is. At least Mississippi and Alamaba have a little bit of diversity. Oklahoma is the only state that had every single county go red last time. It's a hell hole.
  5. Keeper League? Probably Kepler who will be more of an offensive force. Fantasy doesn't take into factor defense. Overall I think Buxton has more WAR in his career.
  6. There is no point in putting Milone in the pen, he won't be here next year. Just cut him.
  7. Yeah, probably true.
  8. You could pick up Puig and find enough at bats for everyone the rest of the year IMO. The only guy in the OF/1B/DH who has earned every day at bats is Kepler. You can have Buxton, Rosario, Puig, Vargas, Mauer all get at bats in the other 2 OF spots and 1B/DH spots. You can try to sell high on Rosario (as a CF for another team) after the season.
  9. Suzuki won't make it to Cleveland, plenty of teams would claim him prior (Seattle comes to mind immediately)
  10. yeah, that whole thing seemed weird. Turns out none of it was true. Twins need to make a waiver claim (if he gets to them) just to block him from going to a rival
  11. To be fair, they told him after they traded for Reddick that he (Puig) was going to either be traded or demoted to the minors, so no matter what he likely wasn't making that trip to Colorado anyways. By all accounts he had been a great teammate this year, sounds like he was just pretty pissed that he was being sent down or shipped out.
  12. Trade deadline winners: Brewers Yankees A's Losers: Giants (wtf) Dodgers (didn't get enough help) White Sox Mariners TBD: Indians Rangers
  13. Also Santiago is a LHP, that also checks the "LHP for the rotation" box
  14. To me it looks like a trade involving three change of scenery type pitchers, and Santiago. I don't think it's as great of a trade as people say, but it's a pretty solid trade overall. Santiago at least can be a innings eater 4/5 for us, and he will be pitching for his first real "big" deal in free agency. Ideally he pitches 200 IP and a 3.40 era and the twins can either trade him, or offer him arb and get a draft pick (or one more year) Meyer could reach his potential, but I doubt he would have done that here. Nolasco could salvage his career with a nice 1.3 seasons in LA as well. Smart but not great trade IMO. I give it a B
  15. Damn too late to trade for him now, I don't think he would make it to us in the waiver process now.
  16. I give him a C+ overall, but an A compared to what Ryan likely would have done.
  17. I dunno man, catchers seem to get traded all the time, hell look at what we fetched for Drew Butera? If the offers weren't that great, you still make the move IMO. Keeping Suzuki around the rest of this year before he heads to free agency is pointless for this club. You take the best offer you get and you move on, I refuse to believe that nobody would have taken Suzuki at this stage. The Mets, Dodgers, Mariners, Astros, Indians all needed catcher help, none of them would give up a C+ prospect at the very least? Doubtful
  18. Well since they didn't trade Suzuki they might as well go ahead and extend him for 2017, there isn't a better internal option at the external options will be pricey.
  19. If no other moves are made Antony gets a D for this trade deadline.
  20. Blue Jays just acquired Scott Feldman, no more Santana?
  21. Perkins was hurt and clearly was hurt all year, I'm not going to fault him for that. I will fault Jepsen for being a terrible healthy pitcher this year.
  22. Man, Jepsen really screwed us this year. If he could have been a "proven closer!!11!!!1!" he would have been such a nice trade chip right now. Unreal.
  23. The Yankees have 27 World Series title, "luck" often happens to the teams that earn it.
