  2. The Twins have reached out to free agent outfielder Ryan Sweeney, though they're just "kicking the tires" at this point. The Twins outfield has been depleted this Winter after trading away Denard Span and Ben Revere. Sweeney hit .260/.303/.373 in 63 games with the Red Sox in 2012 before undergoing surgery to repair a broken pinkie finger. If interested, he could provide solid depth with his ability to handle all three outfield positions defensively. Related: Twins Source: Darren Wolfson on Twitter
  3. Justin Morneau said Thursday that he's "miles ahead of where I've been the last two years" physically. "I'm feeling good, feeling strong, building strength instead of just doing rehab like I've done the last two winters -- not recovering from surgery, but actually building toward the goal of getting strong and being ready for spring training and being ready early for that World Baseball Classic," Morneau said. The first baseman has added weight this offseason after feeling fatigued at the end of a 2012 campaign that saw him bat a disappointing .267/.333/.440 with 19 home runs. Finally healthy and in his walk year, Morneau is a rebound candidate in 2013. Source: 1500ESPN.com
  4. Rich Harden's new minor league contract with the Twins includes an opt-out clause with a date of July 31

  6. Twins won't overpay for average pitching, the fans won't overpay to watch a last place team. So either win or we won't be watching.

  15. Verly is great! He got 2yrs left at 20M, then let the bidding start. Although he didn't pitch that great in the playoffs.
  16. Cleveland got the best pitcher in the central, Trevor Bauer ever heard of him? what does the Twins got? Oh ya Correia.
  17. 3 SS Asdrubal Cabrera** 4 RF Nick Swisher** 5 C Carlos Santana** 3-4-5 all are switch hitters and what is not to like. What do you think a #4 hitters worth? The Twins future will never come, it's only for dreamers, lose another 300 games and see where you are at.
  18. Handcuff how do you figure that? He is only 32 and in the prime of life. Get real and don't be jealous of a team that spends a little money, he will be great.
  19. The cellar dewellar Twins will never catch the Injuns now.
  20. Maybe the Twins need new ownership then.
  21. Brewers signed RHP Jim Hoey to a minor league contract. The 29-year-old right-hander compiled a 5.47 ERA, 1.91 WHIP and 14/13 K/BB ratio over 24 2/3 innings in his last big league exposure with the Twins in 2011. He'll compete for a middle relief role in the Brewers bullpen.
