  1. Honest as the day is long. http://blogs.twincities.com/twins/2015/06/02/twinsights-twins-hope-to-keep-ricky-nolasco-off-disabled-list/
  2. I think I see the problem here. It's not chemistry; it's physics.
  3. I'm sure you'll be happy to know Tonkin is the 26th guy being called up for the double dip tomorrow.
  4. Indeed; I'd consider batting him cleanup here.
  5. Life's a piece of ****, when you look at it. Those negative people were right after all. Now we just have to get them to sing about it.
  6. @MillerStrib: Interesting to watch Paul Molitor sitting w/stopwatch in front of computer monitor, timing pitchers' windups on video. Scouting never stops.
  7. That's actually borderline amazing. One thing worth remembering, when assessing the strengths/weaknesses of a team, is how does the competition stack up. We don't play in a vacuum. Except maybe for Hu-ver.
  8. I'm just going to use these threads (I believe there are 3 of them going now) as a tool for updating my ignore list. Life's too short to go on about this stuff any more. And i have no desire to convince anyone about anything here.
  9. I think I have seen other opinions expressed; maybe just my wild imagination. And people; this is the 21st century! Nobody plays games on paper anymore; baseball is an MMORPG. Sheesh.
  10. Except for Stauffer and maybe Duensing, the pen has performed pretty darn well. it's been a pleasant surprise.
  11. I blame negative threads.
  12. Just so everyone is on a somewhat similar page; here's some basics about what BaseRuns is; how it's computed, and some strengths and weaknesses of the model. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Base_runs
  13. Just don't make that trade for Herschel Walker, Terry!
  14. After all, it was less than a year ago that I wrote a piece entitled “It’s Time for the Royals to Trade James Shields“; they ignored me and went to the World Series instead." I can live with that. I'm sure the 1987 team would have looked pretty dismal too.
  15. Moonwalk.
  16. I'd be okay with Pinto, but it's really a power hitting lefty that's missing in this lineup. Arcia really needs to get it together.
  17. Arcia, Vargas, Pinto, and Sano are all on the 40-man. Seems likely one of them will be here soon. Perhaps not in Boston, as the Green Monster has been known to mess up young power hitters in its storied history. But yes, this is an actual chink in the armor that deserves consideration.
  18. @MillerStrib: Last time Twins entered June with AL's best record: 1977 (29-17, 3 games ahead of White Sox).
  19. Best record in the American League. Stick that up your record books, ESPN and Grantland.
