  1. Oddly, although I liked the play very much, I thought I detected a bit of a waddle as he made his way toward the bag, in advance of the explosive throw.
  2. Rosario over-ran first base. I'm pretty sure replay will bear this out.
  3. They grow up so fast, don't they?
  4. KEPLER!!!! KEPLER!!!! KEPLER!!!! KEPLER!!!!
  5. Awright, which one of you clowns jinxed Tommy's no-no?
  6. It is not necessary to cater to twinsnorth49 in every random thread.
  7. Tuned in just in time to see the replay. I think the overturn is the correct call. There is no benefit to the runner to pop up standing, unless he believes the ball is getting away from the fielder. "The #1 responsibility of the base runner is to demonstrate he's got physical control of his situation." -- Ron Gant / a quote that I totally made up
  8. The thing is that the other team always seems to have a man on base when it happens.
  9. Where'd you find the baby picture of Chief?
  10. We're day to day to day. Today at least.
  11. He never gets thrown out. That's not quite the same.
  12. In our family she was just called Mom.
  13. I guess I was jumping to contusions when I suggested amputation.
  14. Amputation can only be next.
  15. Gahhhhh. Just popping in for a moment. Now I wish I hadn't.
  16. Good. The following however is flippant. http://snltranscripts.jt.org/75/pics/75iupdate4.jpg Well, as the [1976] primaries approach, more and more varied candidates are joining the fight for the Democratic ticket. The latest entry is Senator Robert Byrd. [ reveal man posed with giant egg ] Byrd was once a member of the Ku Klux Klan, but says now that he deeply regrets that association. Byrd has been quoted as saying: "I don't judge a man by the color of his skin; I judge him according to the size of his nostrils."
  17. Koufax squashing the Yankees like bugs, must have been 1963. Game was piped in to our classroom on the intercom, as a reward for being good kids apparently.
  18. New hashtag, #widesetnose, in three... two... one... / edit - On reflection, that may sound flippant. It's the opposite, actually. That part of the transcript infuriates me.
  19. I may not have the best handle on 1968 but I view that year as one of pulling apart. This matter of police use of deadly force strikes more as of coming together on a major principle.
  20. The blues is probably the appropriate genre for this whole mess...
  21. For reference, Seth's twitter poll a week or so ago had this at the top: Jose Berrios - RHP Max Kepler - OF Tyler Jay - LHP Nick Gordon - SS Stephen Gonsalves - LHP Jorge Polanco - IF Assuming BA simply doesn't consider Max a prospect anymore, that's relatively close, except for some unequal love for Gonsalves.
  22. I joined in to say Je Suis Charlie back when that was the thing. I felt noble to later think of saying Je Suis Pulse. But there's no way I can say Je Suis Philando and have it mean anything. This isn't any kind of "there but for the grace of God go I" situation for me. I've been pulled over for minor traffic things, and failed to do things quite by the book, and felt dumb for forgetting but didn't get shot because of it. I just can't comprehend what it must be like. I can't comprehend Lavish icily recounting the details while Philando went into shock next to her. I. Just. Can't.
