  1. I'm going to stick my neck out and say that Paul gives Phil another start.
  2. I just posted this to the Funnin' Around With Numbers thread, but it seems appropriate to the game thread too: the Twins' magic number, taking into account play versus divisional rivals, is 149. I've started my countdown already!
  3. The Twins' magic number to clinch first place is 149*. Let the countdown begin! * The traditional magic number for outright clinch would be 158, but the following site incorporates the knowledge that division rivals play each other frequently so that some wins count twice toward clinching: https://lyle.smu.edu/~olinick/riot/american_league.html
  4. Would Gene Larkin have made that play?
  5. Fortunately, it also floated. http://ndigo.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/Ali-boxing-ndigo-chicago.jpg
  6. Ho boy, bad baserunning instincts by Grossman there. He who hesitates... makes it to third anyway on a bad throw.
  7. I like it when the foam has good body like that.
  8. Uh oh, do they have Me on back-order as well?
  9. Why is it called a Foul line, if it's a Fair ball when it hits it?
  10. Depends on how you define the term. In normal parlance, no, not even in the first inning.
  11. Why didn't Buxton catch that one? Down to Rochester with him!
  12. HOW in the WORLD did Buxton CATCH that? It tailed away at the last second. He lunged and I thought no way!
  13. That is the way grown men hit popups.
  14. Either that or a phantom HBP. "Sorry, son, that was a strike. Get back in the box."
  15. Tomorrow's game is Grammar Day. Looking forward to it!
  16. I'm going with a quadratic curve-fit. 19N2 - 54N + 41. Tomorrow we score 50.
  17. Whatever gets you through the game, it's all right, it's all right, I guess.
  18. Nice swing-and-miss strikeout on the Uncle Charlie by Belisle. Not sure every batter will bite on that, but it was effective in this instance.
  19. He was good enough to play professionally, not good enough to reach the majors. http://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=lennon001joh
  20. Yes, because that is how addition works.
  21. Our second candidate for jinx-er of the game.
