  1. An encore of this for Eddie's throw.

  3. Great minds think alike. Unexpectedly.
  4. Ha ha, we made your starting pitcher regret his career choice in the very first inning.
  5. Byron's handling of low outside pitches no longer looks like excuse-me accidents but a conscious ability to go the other way with authority. Opponents are going to have to adjust soon. Good times.
  6. You wouldn't want to construct a roster with only OBP for a whole season. But aside from the two catchers in today's lineup, we have guys who all can put pressure on the opponents once they get on base and another ball is put in play. We don't have to play station-to-station.
  7. Garver struck out yesterday. Now, a walk. Hasn't put a ball in play. I'm calling a home run, his next time, to maintain his Three True Outcomes status.
  8. The way we mangle Caesar now, or how the Romans* pronounced it? *(More like Kaiser, back in the day. Ask Chief to confirm.)
  9. Those little town blues pertain to LA as well, I guess .... http://0201.nccdn.net/1_2/000/000/15b/356/7935465c895e4d289bf4e6528cbac8c8-271x186.jpg
  10. Austin saw action in the GCL Twins' game against the Rays at noon on Thursday August 17. As with his previous appearance, he was the nominal starter, again going one inning. I am guessing this reflects lingering concern about his arm's health, like rehab outings for a major league reliever where you want to give him some predictability so as to warm up precisely as he wants to - but that's just me talking. Anyhizzle... he walked the first guy who promptly stole second, struck out the next guy, gave up a run-scoring double, then retired the next two guys on grounders. So-so results, an unsightly in-game OPS-against of .900 if I did the math right (his season OPS for five games is a much nicer .471), but hopefully something to build off of.
  11. It was a creditable outing for Felix Jorge on Friday evening August 18 against the host Tennessee Smokies, and indeed he got credit for this 9-8 win, running his season won-loss record to 10-3. That score might look bad from a pitching standpoint, but most of the damage against the Lookouts occurred after Felix's seven innings of work, in which he gave up three runs on six hits and three walks. The runs scored during a shaky first and third inning. But only one hit was for extra bases, a harmless double by Jason Vosler with two out in the fifth. He finished strong, retiring the side in both the sixth and the seventh, at which point his pitch count of 98 probably drove the decision to bring in the bullpen, who proceeded to make the game close. Altogether Felix struck out six in this Quality Start, and his ERA in AA now stands at 3.54.
  12. Bannon 2020. That's my take. He can claim that he's seen things from the inside and knows how to fix things once and for all.
  13. Welp, I'd like to stay and watch the conclusion of this fine game, but Mrs Ash is giving me that come-hither look so I'd better make my way to the bedroom. It's time for my laxative.
  14. Risky. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1w8n0L3uUCE
  15. Sano's lack of hustle around the bases is forgiven this time.
  16. Save that for a game in San Diego, where they stay classy.
  17. Medical procedures can do that to ya. / I see that I was ninja'd by an observation about weight loss before surgery
  18. I cna ytpe 300 wrods pre mniuet!
  19. You get ducks on the pond, you sometimes bunt 'em over.
  20. When will we see his son promoted to the majors? Semi-Colon, I believe is the name.
