  1. Nice play by Dozier and another strikeout for Milone. 1-0 after two.
  2. Pretty ticky-tack balk call. If TPTB in baseball want to speed up the game, we want to encourage a quick delivery to the plate.
  3. TD should open a new Forum, The Arts. "This was the Nishioka of stage plays. Charge an error to whoever produced it. WAR (Writing Above Replacement) negative 100. Don't fail to miss this one!"
  4. In case anybody is holding back because you can't think of a good player, and/or to kickstart the thinking process, here's a remaining list I would love to see covered and who have (IMO) a genuine chance to develop into a major leaguer you can be proud to have invested the time on in a few years. I don't have the energy to do them all myself. Once a bunch of these are taken, I'll jump in and snatch a couple for myself. If I recall correctly, the Hall of Fame of my past "adoptees" includes Joe Benson, Darin Mastroianni, and The Illustrious Kenny Wilson. Maybe you can be just as lucky with yours!
  5. Hey, off-topic, but that's what Game Threads are about, amiright? I wanna put in a good word with all of you for Seth's Adopt-A-Prospect project. There are about a hundred Twins prospects worth following, and it doesn't take a lot of time or experience to choose one, follow him, and write up highlights every week or two. You give a little effort, and it pays off when you want to look up something about another player and someone else has got it right there for you. Give it a try.
  6. Of greater importance, he caught a ball hit to the outfield. I say wait one more game to make sure that wasn't a fluke.
  7. Difference being that Benjamin Button got better looking as he got younger, whereas SD gets uglier as he gets older.
  8. How about the defense? The SSS while I watched him last month left me with questions.
  9. If the choice of pitcher for the 7th inning proves decisive to anything, it will mean the Twins have taken giant strides this season.
  10. Since you'll see your post right here in the thread, as can everyone else, it will serve as your confirmation, until Seth comes around at some point to post a master list of who-has-whom.
  11. He was signed to sell tickets.* Purely. All else is added after-the-fact. *Not intended as a straight line leading to him working for Mike Clough, Twins Vice President for Ticket Sales & Service
  12. I've been mainly skipping these projection threads, but will offer a thought that Daniel Ortiz may OPS higher in Rochester than Torii does in Minnesota. There would be some dropoff if he faced major leaguers of course, but the defense in RF would be a little more nimble. Of course Ortiz didn't light the world on fire this Spring, so I would have flunked as GM.
  13. Reason 3: You don't sign a guy to what is widely viewed as a hometown deal, and then trade him. Not lightly, at least, and not because he's at some perceived peak in value.
  14. http://images.neozone.org/2011/06/I-want-to-believe-300x194.jpg
  15. If he reaches the majors, does he think he'll be known more for his bat, or his glove?
  16. (Now that you've dropped "unfathomably stupid" I'll respond.) But where did I say that? I noted he had a poor start. What if it's a close decision and you tell (indirectly) the guys vying for the job that the last start for each will matter. That's not the same thing, is it? Don't you like to give a player a challenge, and give him some negative reinforcement if he comes up short? I have no sources inside the clubhouse but this is one guess. Or even if you don't tell them, if it's close then the last start will matter. But again, I said he had a bad start, and explained some background that might not be apparent from a box score. It didn't deserve being called unfathomably stupid.
