  1. Maybe you looked at Brian's writeup in the forums rather than the article. It's documented right there in the photo.
  2. An LA jury just convicted the Grim Sleeper.
  3. And trousers. Don't forget the trousers.
  4. Received in trade from Diamondbacks for catcher Chris Herrmann. One of our big off-season moves.
  5. Oh, I knew what you meant. I was just thinking that if you had added even one more qualifier, you'd have had yourself a weather forecast. "Overnight, partly Vargas, with a 50 percent chance of probabilities."
  6. A chance. Probably. At some point. Maybe. So, I'll put you down as Very High on this player?
  7. OF Dom Thompson-Williams: how does "pure athlete" compare to "toolsy outfielder"?
  8. In 40 plate appearances this season. Instead of calling it Small Sample Size, bring this insight about chemistry to Las Vegas and see if you can get a sports book to make you a proposition bet that he hits .280 or better in his next 40 PA, and take the "over" at even money.
  9. Old Time Rock &Roll is another good song.
  10. Oh, sure, tell the whole league, whydontcha.
  11. He sees a lot more mistake pitches at AAA, is my guess. In the majors, he has time to make three mistakes before the other guy makes even one.
  12. Yeah, there is a certain sameness to his K's. He still gets himself out.
  13. Shhh. Chief is an experienced card player, I was trying to see what kind of witty response I would receive.
  14. The good news being that it wouldn't have to be for very long. / maybe someone already made this observation, I'm catching up
  15. A few photos from Tuesday night's and Wednesday afternoon's games in Oakland. Possibly one of the last photos taken of Miguel Sano before his trip to the 15-day DL. Notice the tear in his left trouser leg. Left hamstring injury next time up to bat... coincidence? I think not. "Sorry son, that's strike three. By the way, I forgot to say, welcome back to the majors." Gulls just wanna have fun. Another Dull relief appearance. God, I slay me. Reggie Jackson, Rollie Fingers, and (not pictured) Dennis Eckersley entertain the fans. Old Timers Day, I guess. On a day game after a night game, Kurt Suzuki apparently moonlights as one of the coaches. Pat Dean intimidates the other team with an 88-MPH warmup pea. This is probably either strike one, strike two, or strike three, to either the first or second or third batter Trevor May faced Wednesday. Pinch hitter Joe Mauer coaxing ball four, or maybe ball three, I forget, to start a short-lived ninth-inning rally. I could upload the shot of him taking the first-pitch strike, but we already kind of know what that looks like, don't we?

Where'd all these birds come from, and what do they find so fascinating on the field? They didn't seem to be eating bugs. They just liked the Coliseum, I guess. Me too.
