  1. Today, A.J. Achter was being stretched out by the Snappers he started today tallying 5.0 IP - 2 Hits - O ERs - 5 K's/ 1 BB in the Snappers 9-2 win over Cedar Rapids. 05/24/12 Sano went 0-3, 2 BB's , and 1 SB (3) - Miguel is mired in a week + long slump and today certainly didn't change matters, but the 2 BB's / 2 K's is a step in the right direction. Rosario is clearly outplaying Sano now. :I Rosario went 2-5 , HR (4) and 2 K's
  2. seconded YHIMH . ^ The one that baffles me is Goodrum, maybe both he and Santana will be 19-20 or 18-19 or whatever. BJ Hermsen will be in top 15! ? 1 ? -we'll find out. Kepler, Beresford and Deolis Guerra are probably my biggest discrpencies in guys i'd have a little to much higher.
  3. Logan Darnell, forgot him also Chris Herrmann has to make the top 15-18 or better right? I'm interested to see how much Angel Morales falls, also if you keep Levi Michael about the same...
  4. Very nice Start Seth: I like a lot of them here, there's always going to be a half dozen to a dozen + guys that may deserve to be on but MUST be left off on a top 50. --- Not that it matters, but i thought James Beresford would be higher... My Prediction of 31-40::: 31. Daniel Santana SS,2B 32. Danny Ortiz OF 33. Matt Summers SP 34. Lester Oliveros RP 35. J.D. Williams 2B/ OF 36. Tyler Robertson -LHRP 37. Miguel Munoz - RHP 38. Corey Williams - P 39. Tyler Grimes - SS 40. Caleb Theilbar, A.J. Achter, Cole Nelson 20-30 quickly : Pat Dean, Niko Goodrum, Manuel Soliman, Angel Morales, Tom Stuiffbergen, Madison Boer, Matt Hauser, ...... 1 or 2 others....+ left over relievers. ( I think Deolis Guerra, Niko Goodrum will crack the top 30) * I'm also very interested to see where B.J. Hermsen will place. top 15?
  5. my guys: Didi Gregorious SS - Reds NIEL RAMIREZ SP - Rangers (been advocating him for months around here) Erik Surkamp SP - Giants Adieny Hechavarria SS - Blue Jays Ryan Cook RP - Athletics
  6. To me Mauer is all out of whack at the plate right now.... He looks like opposite side of the plate Jamey Carroll Right now...all leaning over the plate not able to reach the pitch up and away. In Mauer's case he can hitt the pitch, particually off-speed or breaking stuff, down and often down and out of the zone, but he cannot catch up to pitches up in the zone. If Teams start pitching Mauer high in the zone, (and can get strikes called in doing so) They might figure out a way to get Mauer out even MORE consistantly.... Frightening? Because well yes, because Mauer is getting himself out waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more than ANYONE is accustomed to seeing. tappers or GB's to 2B. Mauer should just take the rest of the season off Come June or July 4th ......Rest Rehabb and more R & R and work work work, come baack strong and with vengence next year, maybe even a chip on his shoulder. + the R & R thing is nice with a newly wed. Get some out of him now.
  7. While, my initial reaction is true Thrylos. Maybe Rantz and Co. (Ryan, Antony, Deron Johnson) know something that we just simply don't. maybe they came to find out he's going under false pretenses under ID or speculative age difference, or maybe he's just a rotten kid. Who Knows? I liked Solarte, but he was hardly anything more than a 5th OF or 6th infielder type, if he ends up with Super-Utility type of coverage for the Rangers, showing he can man multiple positions, Then SURE, he'll make the Major Leagues and probably get a decent amount of playing time. But he's not going to be Emilio Bonifacio or Nick Punto or Ben Zobrist, more like Denny Hocking --- at best.
  8. 1 hitt for Reading is just crazy...good job by the "cats Pitching staff tonigh - Bromberg especially. I thought May may 1 hitt us there through 8 or 9 innings for a while, good to see we got to their bullpen.
  9. I was one, even with Morneau's uncertainties, that WANTED Parmelee in AAA. The fact he hasn't played 1 game there, is going to catch up with him, i thought, he's tainted now, in all honesty. Unfortunately, Since April 1st Parmelee has looked just off mechanically, i agree with Parker he's not even the same hitter right now anyway, the fact the Twins leave him in the bigs, after doing all these moves in recent days, is a little baffling. Maybe they entrust Vavra's "magical powers" to bring him out of it. But i don't see it. Parmelee will bat .230-.245 this year with single digit Homers if he's in the bigs all year. Time to send him to AAA, as SOON as Morneau is back off DL. RIGHT?
  10. Things change as the draft nears, but right now I think Carlos Correa looks like the best prospect in the entire draft. I sure hope the Twins take Correa (assuming the Astros do not) , that way between him and Sano they'd have their 3B of the future, surely, and maybe Sano can play 1B/RF/DH... Correa is likely a 3B down the line but could stick at SS. Correa is looking more and more like the TOP positional prospect in the draft now. I'm 100% in the mindset that their is NO ACE in this draft, you take the TOP positional guy at pick #2 and take pitching pitching pitching with picks 32, 42 and 70 whatver. Right? I'm with John Bonnes... my guess if i had to put out today: 1. Astros - Correa 2. Twins - Really hoping for Correa, but otherwise Gausman ? maybe? 3. Mariners - Zunino (catcher) 4. Orioles - Buxton - John Sickles doesn't completely believe in his bat 5. Royals - Appel 6. Cubs - Albert Almora 7. Padres - Kyle Zimmer 8. Pirates - Devin Marrero 9. Marlins - Fried, Smoral or Stroman 10. Rockies - probably a pitcher Beck, Heaney, Fried, Smoral, or Virant.
  11. calling up Sano ANYTIME before mid-season 2013 would be a MASSIVE mistake.
  12. Liriano = 4.5 MM ? Marquis frees up 3 MM , Pavano frees up 8M , Baker 8/10 M option , Doumit - predicting he'll be re-signed or back. so even being conservitive....we'll have at least about 14 Million to spend, if not 15/16 (-22 MM maximum) Milliion, if Baker is resigned for cheap lets say on a 1 yr deal. then we could have close to 20 Million..... that would be perfect for 1 name, Cole Hamels. Cole Hamels on a 3-4 yr deal.... at 18.5 Million per..... that'd ink him 57 million at 3 years and 76 Million on 4 yrs. problem is, somebody may likely outbid that, and how bad would a Hamels want to join the Twins? if its bad enough think of Hamels, Baker, Gibson, Hendriks, Blackburn, Diamond next year in the 2013 rotation...... I think by 2014 or 2015.... (Hicks, Sano) The Twins could be back in contention with some SMART, shrewd moves for both the present and long term.
  13. When you have Deolis Guerra, Anthony Slama, and Tyler Robertson. + Carlos Gutierrez, Lester Oliveros, Kyle Waldrop. That are all itching for a shot. and the first 3 are clearly better than Gray is today. It doesn't really make any sense to have Gray on the roster....... Maloney probably the same as well here after another month. Gray is also terrible, which doesn't help.
  14. Great updates: how about the toughness of Salcedo? But man yoiu know who a young man possesed is right now? How about BJ Hermsen, the Iowa kid. with 1 hit given up in 4 innings against Portland Sea Dogs (bos.) today , the hitt being a HR......however, through those first 4 frames he had a 8-0 GB:FB ratio!!! that is mad. Hermsen was outstanding in start #1 in AA, anxious to see how he wraps things up today....
  15. Gray got way over 3 tonight... Time for Gray and Maloney to go Slama and any lefty.....French ? Up to biggs... (robertson, Oliveros, Devries, Guerra, Gutierrez) need more time.
  16. would love to get Valentine with one of the supplemental picks.... Correa will be a top 10 OVERAALLLL pick.... thanks jyndgaard
  17. OMG.....awesome shots.....man, maybe single A next year or sometime within a few years will be in the Dakotas? instead of Wisconisin? I'd love to go to many many of these games if they were on the other side of Minny, problem is although not a terrible drive, i just don't have a lot of time to get to wisc. to see them play. I've only been to 1 snappers game ever, and it was when they were on the road. Great pictures though, man Awesome job.!!! go again before too long!
  18. since 2007 I've been off the Plouffe band wagon and have NEVER not even for a second hopped back on it. He is what he is.... He's no good.... the fact he's in the Majors is a bit of a suprise to me. Sure teams like the Twins, Mariners, Padres, and maybe Cubs (the bottom tier offenses) I guess i could see giving him a shot, but within 3 years he'll be playing in Japan or retired. Look guys, (tiber Twins, ashbury John) he isn't any good, he's never really been any good at any point.... (other than 1 month at triple A) and the fact remains i've seen NOTHING NOTHING to make me think he'll ever be any good. Good ridance Plouffe. Nobody in the Majors will get to know you.
  19. I was going to start my own thread, so I'm thankfull Seth did so first Anyways, The hand I'm not too worried about, he'll be fine. (eventually) Even though its the same wrist from SLAMMING his hand into the locker from frustrationing AB's last year some time or whatever it was. (how can you blame him for that at all though, after how last year went?) (if it was i, I would have beatin in every single locker with a brain issue like that, knowing what you once were, ALL-star MVP calliber 1B mashing slugger, and suddenly not being able to time your swing or see the ball right. ) What i'm worried about... Is this simple fact. Morneau needs to swing at strikes. he's swinging at WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY to many pitches outside the strike zone. No, I haven't looked at the K rates because they won't tell the whole story... Remember 2010? that amazing first half he was having before the Incident. ? Yeah, he was swinging at strikes and only strikes then. (maybe not at the rate of say Joe Mauer, but if Morneau just simply swings at strikes, and not balls at a much better rate) He'll be back. Not AL MVP Justin Morneau but he'll be back.
  20. I've always and continue to be a BIG Ben Revere fan. He is what he is. He's the perfect #8 or 9 hole hitter, who can occasionally spell the leadoff guy. He's more of a #3 ofer or 4th ofer/ platoon starter. He'll be batting in the 8 or 9 hole PERMENTLY before seasons end in the Twins' lineup. IMO what i can't figure out is why everybody likes or thinks Plouffe deserves a shot. He did NOTHING his whole minor league career besides 1 little half season at AAA Rochester, Ben Revere was consistantly a good hitter in the Minors, Plouffe NEVER was. Andrelton Simmons has 0 homers in his minor league career, ok that may be a stretch but he has NO POWER.......the Braves fans are talking and treating him like their future Derek Jeter (Simmons is in AA or AAA)... Ben Revere despite no power CAN STILL BE A VERY VALUABLE PLAYER..... I"m long tired of the pitching to no power argument and that Revere will have to have and sustain a High BABIP, hitting for a high BABIP ,while tough in Revere's case, is a SKILL not a luck thing.
  21. MOre like Beloit dumping them..... just kidding.... yeah likely a new affiliate for single a. GreenGoblin nice to see you bud, its been since the scout.com days
  22. Awesome job man, thats too cool. Its a shame that Beloit, wisc. is really the only within real driving distance farm team from the area. I do think Corey could be a starter, but it'd be nice to try and develop another Perkins. 91-93 is plenty plenty on the heater.
  23. Bump^^ anybody know of anyone going to Monday Nights Rock Cats game?

  25. Whoooo woooooo hoooooooooooooooooooo I'm glad for him, just saw you're post seth, WOW. I must say a bit shocked. ALL That time in the Midwest Lg. very NILL time at FSL. Almost like Twins (similar to Parmelee) skipped a level. w/ BJ. Now i know pitchers should be handled differently. But I'm sure they (the Twins) KNOW he's ready. And personally i like the move, its aggressive but i think B.J. can more than handle himself there now.
