  1. Great list. RHP Zach Jones and his 95-98 MPH fastballl (touches 99) has to be on the top 30 somewhere!!! I have him in the top 20. Baxendale, Z. Jones, J. Polanco and maybe Melotakis I am quite a bit higher on than you are. (hopefully Levi MIchael bounces back at least some also) K. Vargas, Joe Benson, and A.B. Walker i am quite a bit lower on than you are. Love the placement of several other names though.....Salcedo, Wimmers, Harrison Goodrum and many others. I think Nathan Roberts may be the most under-valued. I mean Rene Tosoni was a top 15 prospect by everyone pretty much. And Tosoni turned out to be a 5th Of'er or quad A guy. While that may end up being Roberts final outcome, i see at least that as his potential. i think he can be more valuable than Darrin Mastroianni and more of a 3rd OF'er than 4th Ofer'. time will tell. Pedro Hernandez at 25 seems odd, mainly because our system is sooo strong. After aquiring Meyer, and May i am sure the twins boast a top 10 farm system in all of baseball. (as they should being one of majors 5 worst clubs right now) But they could possibly rank as high as 6th or 7th overall of all 30 teams. Which is certainly exciting news ! 1. St Louis. 2. Texas 3. San Diego 4. Tampa Bay Rays 5. Pittsburgh Pirates 6. Seattle Mariners 7. Minnesota Twins 8. Boston Red Sox 9. New York Mets 10. Houston Astros --- 11 would be either Cubs, D'Backs or Royals. is probably how i'd rank the farm systems in baseball.
  2. I think 2015 is a realistic goal.....other than that Yes probably 2016. In 2015 i could strongly see a roster of something like (just some random sims and guesswork) Brian Roberts -2B Aaron Hicks - CF Joe Mauer -- C Justin Morneau - 1B/DH Oswaldo Arcia - LF Chris Parmelee - DH/RF Trevor Plouffe - 3B Eddie Rosaio - 2B/ RF Brian Dozier - SS ----- Chris Herrmann Danny Santana Nathan Roberts Eduardo Escobar With Miguel Sano in AAA (1B) and probably Kepler, Harrison and others in AA. I see Sano taking over 1B at someway mid-point of 2015 and pushing Morneau down to 5th or 6th in the lineup and at DH. Dyan Bundy (i have twins trading Willingham, Buxton, Hendriks, Wimmers, Beresford and possibly Parmelee to O's at deadline or 2013 off-season for Bundy and Roberts.) Kyle Gibson Scott Diamond Alex Meyer BJ Hermsen / Vance Worley Trevor May ( possible closer) Glen Perkins Jared Burton Brian Duensing Matt Hauser Zach Jones Caleb Theilbar / Tyler Robertson.
  3. Vargas missed time last year for both injury and PED use. (performance enhancing drug) So i'm wearily on Kennys Vargas, plus you throw in the age. and boy ohh boy he better MASH in 2013 to earn his way into you're placement.
  4. Ohh I see you think Hicks, Gibson, and Arica will all lose prospect status in 2013. Well that may be accuate but Hopefully all of them start in AAA or below to begin the season. and dont get called up untill June / July or untill they actually earn their way up. No more Brian Dozier's!!!

    Cold Predictions

Aaron Hicks ? Kyle Gibson ? Oswaldo Arcia ? all losing eta in 2013? I guess we'll see. It could be accurate.
  6. Chris Colabello I wouln't even have in my top 40. (way too old a virtual non-prospect, +1B !? not nearly enough bat there) Vargas maybe a top 25-30 type of guy. But seems just a tad high there. A.J. Achter is a nice relief prospect, but he should be in the 25-40 range overall. 17 seems high. Relief Prospects i think you tend to over-value The other names i can definately live with, just have a different arrangement in the top 20.
  7. Pelfrey was once talked about as the centerpiece for the Johan Santana deal back in 2007 / 08 . Instead we took Humber / Gomez/ Guerra and Mulvey. But i remember preferring Pelfrey to at least Humber and possibly Mulvey as well. Turns out they're all basically the same pitcher with the exception of Mulvey and Guerra who look like quad A guys.
  8. Don't love the move...don't hate it either.... would sure rather have paid baker the X-tra 1-2 Million needed compared to Pelfrey to Keep Scotty Baker himself. But Pelfrey has more upside than Corriea, Blacky, Duensing, Hendriks, DeVries, and Deduno . The only exceptions i'd say are Gibson and Worley for the 2013 staff. Now if AAron Hicks starts off in AAA .....for a minumum 3 months i'd be a happy guy heading into 2013...with maybe 1 more Pitcher and a little competition for T-Money Plouffe at 3B.
  9. Even if he stays an OF I like him at this point quite a bit better than say...Joe Benson. I'd be shocked if Roberts didn't start 2013 in AA New Britian ( I have him as our 4th OF'er for 2015). And i think he has a great chance to be a bit more than that....say the David Murphy type of mold.
  10. I guarantee you another thing Nick. If Hicks is playing in Minnesota in April of 2013 instead of April 2014. I predict he'll hitt about .220/310/380 That is not acceptable. And I wouldn't be shocked if he did a little worse. He's Not Ready Now. I firmly believe it.
  11. I'm not saying Hicks shouldn't be the front-runner for the CF job in and after ST. I'm saying it would be a catostrophic mistake (potentially) to hand Hicks the CF job out of ST. Send Him down to AAA let him Earn his way up, and even if he doesn't (playing poorly) call him up in August or September for good. Eric Hosmer is a decent and one of the latest of MANY examples. ............ in the season which the Royals debuted Hosmer he was actually in AAA out of ST for 1 little month in April where he DESTROYED AAA pitching, they called him up tooo early (I thought) around May 1st. He then went on to MURDER Major League pitching (for the most part) but in the parts of 2 years since he has MASSIVELY struggled and they might of ruined him because of the mistake. Hicks to Rochester Pleasse Terry Ryan and Co !!!!!!!!!
  12. 1. Draft LHP Danny Rosenbaum in Rule 5 draft. (missed him by 2 spots) ACTUAL: Alex Pressly ...return to boston. 2. Trade Denard Span for Alex Meyer (B+) 3. Trade Ben Revere for Vance Worley and Trevor May (B/ B-) 4. Trade Josh Willingham and Eduardo Escobar to Pittsburgh Pirates for P Kyle McPherson (B-),P Nick Kingham (, and SS Alen Hanson (B+) 5. Let Scott Baker (ugh), Matt Capps, Matt Carson, JR Towles and Luis Perdomo all leave via FA. 6. Sign Jeff Kobernus or Casey McGahee or Mark DeRosa to a 1 yr minor league deal w/ invite to ST. 7. Sign -Brandon McCarthy- I mean -Joe Blanton- Damn I mean: LHP Joe Saunders to a 2 yr. $ 13 Million dollar deal. 8. Sign -Cody Ross- i mean - Ichiro- i mean -Bobby Abreu- Damn I mean: LF/3B Mark Reynolds to a 2 yr. $15 Million dollar deal 9. Sign SP Jeff Karstens to a 1 yr. $3.5 Million dollar deal. 2013 opening day Roster: 1. CF - Darin Mastroanni 2. 2B - Jamey Carroll 3. C - Joe Mauer 4. 1B - Justin Morneau 5. LF - Mark Reynolds 6. RF - Chris Parmelee 7. 3B - T-Money Plouffe 8. DH - Ryan Doumit 9. SS - Pedro Florimon Bench: SS/2B - Brian Dozier OF -- Joe Benson C --- Drew Butera 3B -- Mark DeRosa ? 13. Hicks SHOULD NOT make the team. He needs a full year in AAA / AA ! I mean he should not be up until late July or August or September... Rushing HIM would just be silly. Look what happened to Dozier.....
  14. Hicks shouldn't be up in 2013 untill AUGUST or SEPTEMBER don't rush the guy! I'm telling you Look what happened to Brian Dozier , we all freaked out demanded him up there in Early or Mid May and he fell off the earth, eventually. He should of been in AAA untill August and then you feel MORE confident about Dozier's chances....... I pray its Ichiro, Mastro , or even Benson or Andres Torres before Aaron Hicks. in April anways. Reds or Mariners both want OF'ers
  15. sign Ichiro!!!!! lol not really but maybe anyways REMEMBER NOT TO RUSH AARON HICKS he needs a FULL season of AA/ AAA time.
  16. I'm really eyeing 2015. (i have been for the past 9+ months now) LF Arcia B ......CF Hicks B+..........RF Revere B- 3B T-Money Plouffe C+.........SS Escobar / trade in prospect Gregorius.....2B Rosario B-.........1B Morneau B+...new contract for less $. C Joe Mauer A- ............DH ... Cheap FA.... ... Seth Smith/ Kubel/ Cuddyer anybody. reserves: OF Nathan Roberts, OF Joe Benson, INF Brian Dozier, INF Danny Santana, C Herrmann (hopefully) Pitching: Brandon McCarthy, Alex Meyer, Kyle Gibson, Scotty Diamond, BJ Hermsen Glen Perkins, Dakota Watts, Luke Bard, Alex Burnett, Brian Duensing, Matt Hauser, Pedro Hernandez... AAA SP- Hendriks. Wimmers, Melotakis , Zach Jones, Dean, Oliveros, Pugh, Waldrop?, Theilbar. 1B/ DH- Sano. Beresford, Knudson, Jairo Rodriguez, Bigley, Clement, Kepler. AA Berrios Harrison Polanco L. Michael Salcedo A+ Goodrum Jorge
  17. AS LONG AS THE CONTROL GODS keep Meyer on the same Improved path he's on and shown in 2012. Meyer will be somewhat a Max Schzerzer or Josh Johnson type of arm for us. I like him as a prospect a lot. Stay Healthy Alex!
  18. I would of liked to see the Twins get a 2nd player form Was. for Span... (to go along w/ Meyer) I mean we sent Ramos and a pitcher for Capps why not the same sentiments in return for us?
  19. I love the trade Meyer is a B+ guy for me. Gibson and Berrios are only B's I'd have Meyer right behind Sano and Buxton #3 in our system. what bugs me a bit, is the fact we only got just 1 prospect for DENARD SPAN one of the better lead-off hitting CF's in BASEBALL. and his team friendly contract. I would of liked to have Sammy Solis or Rick Hague or Jeff Kobernus in this deal as well. But its more of a quibble.
  20. Interesting , In the last 5 years my list has been closer to Sickles or BP ....But this year its much more in LINE with Seth's (for only the 2nd time) 1. A Sano 1. B Buxton 3. Hicks 4. Arcia 5. Rosario 6. Gibson 7. Berrios/ Kepler 8. Kepler / Berrios 9. Harrison 10. Wimmers 11. Melotakis 12. Polanco 13. Boyd 14. Bard 15. Baxendale (hopefully convert to SP in the future) 16. Hermsen 17. Herrmann 18. Zach Jones 19. Chargois 20. A.B. Walker 21. Goodrum 22. Wheeler 23. Boer 24. Roberts 25. Summers That is much more in line w/ Seth and Christe compared to the others. I think this is a good sign for Twins fans, as far as how we see our future possible outcomes. Kennys Vargas, while I like I don't envision him at all of having enough bat to hold down 1B, a position historically needed a Plus bat to stay at, PLUS you throw in the PED use and I am more of a in the wait and see approach with him.
  21. Joe BLanton, Brandon McCarthy, Scott Baker, Ryan Dempster, and Shawn Marcum i predict Twins sign 2 of these 5. Plus trade for another. my choice Baker, McCarthy, BLanton .
  22. WOW.....i remember looking at the boxscore 3-4 times in a couple of hours.... and in the 9th exited and went to bed thinking it was OVER.... congrats to Burlington! WHAT I CAN"T BELIEVE THIS HAPPENED ! wow thats baseball for you.....No way.....I was reading this article/ post thinking it was a prank the WHOLE WAY. what?!?! seriously this happended?
  23. I think it is rather debatable if Daniel Santana is a top 20 guy or not. Either way, great job Jeremy ! and great read. Heres to the E-Town Twins!!!! go get Danville tonight!
  24. Very good Seth :-) You're list was solid. Very credible and accurate.... it was interesting at one point as i was scrolling down on it, all that was framed in my screen was #'s 5 - #'s 9 (Benson to Wimmers) And thought to myself, everyone in that slot has been Hurt, terrible, or re-habbing.... The ONlY positive to take away from those 5 players is #7 SP Kyle Gibson! Just weird that our system is still strong, overall, despite such a lackluster back half of the top 10. Parmelee on the other hand, has been a rocket man. And I'm happy with Dozier's play...considering he should have gotten another month or 2 of AAA time. MY list: (changes a touch from week to week) 1. Byron Buxton A- 2. Miguel Sano B+ 3. Oswaldo Arcia B 4. Aaron Hicks B 5. Eddie Rosario B (this low over my concerns about 2B) Maybe he's the 3B of the future? Sano 1B? 6. J.O. Berrios B- 7. Max Kepler B- 8. Kyle Gibson B-/ C+ 9. Chris Parmelee 10. Travis Harrison ---- missing: Boyd, Benson, Bard, Walker, Goodrum, and Hermsen Herrmann.
