    There is a rule about recalling players from the 40-Man after being optioned out of Spring Training, butthe number of days required to wait (10) has now elapsed. A team can recall a player sooner if there is an injury, which is why Trevor May could be called up last week - Nolasco went on the DL. http://www.fangraphs.com/library/principles/contract-details/player-options/ "Once a player is sent to the minors, they are must remain there for at least 10 days before being recalled (with the exception of if they need to return due to an injury). This is to prevent teams from bouncing one or two players up and down depending on the day of the week."

    Most likely I would be near Chattanooga on the 18th or 19th - on 16th and 17th I plan on being in New York State. Anyone planning on catching more of that series?

    I actually have planned a road trip heading east of the Twins Cities from May 17th through the 31st... I might have to make a detour to Chattanooga.... It would be kind of tricky for me though to make either the 16-17 or the 30-31 because I had planned to be either leaving the cities or returning to the cities on those dates. Looks like a 14 to 15 hour drive from Minneapolis . . . I'll have to think about leaving a little earlier... The 16th is Mother's Day, though; which is why I was planning on leaving town the following day...

    A bunch of people in my section bolted for the exits in top of the 6th inning after May was pulled and the bullpen carousel of horrors went around. It was a full house up to that point (and the Twins, despite some sloppiness, were actually still in the game until then).

    I didn't notice any issues, but I am very low maintenance - I got to the game early (about 1pm), got a scorecard, went straight to the Kramarczuk's stand for a polish sausage, got a beer, and after taking a couple laps around the concourse to people watch I found my seat. No waiting in the men's restroom.

    Yes - May pitched very well (with the exception of whatever he threw to Kendrys Morales), and I think the loss he earned for his efforts should be assigned to his defense instead. In the sixth, the Royals started hitting the ball hard, and I really wish that May had been given the chance to get himself out of that jam after the intentional walk. Despite the shaky defense to that point, I feel like inducing a ground ball was not out of the question. The bullpen put the game out of reach pretty quickly. I'm really mystified by J.R. Graham's appearance- he was pretty wild, which I don't think is his usual m.o. ?

    The Twins official page says pretty much the same as everywhere else, but added the tidbit that the MRI showed no structural damage and the diagnosis is "Elbow inflammation" - so it may be closer to 15 days than 60 days depending on the follow up examinations... http://m.twins.mlb.com/news/article/117416054/elbow-inflammation-could-land-ricky-nolasco-on-dl

    Cool - As long as I'm not going to have to see Stauffer start the home opener, I'm all set. I was hoping Hughes would get pushed to Monday, but Trevor May is a nice consolation!

    They could potentially wait until Monday to officially make a move, but the rumors are loud enough that I think the official move will come after today's game is over so Trevor May can start on Saturday. They could wait and have him start Sunday, or even Monday, but regardless it sounds like May is going to take Nolasco's turns in the rotation for a couple weeks at least. They haven't officially DL'd Nolasco yet, it's possible they could do something ridiculous like send down one of the relievers and call up May...

    Both games I've attended in Chicago (one Cubs, one White Sox) I got there on the train. I can't imagine trying to drive around Wrigleyville, and around the Cell I imagine isn't much better, especially near game time... Let's hope we aren't calling him "Touchdown" Tommy Milone by the end of his start. What's the record for fewest runs allowed by a Twins Starter in 2015? Can Tommy break that record?

    I can't remember, but I know it was at the Dome. It was either that game or one shortly afterwards that inspired my username. I was sitting probably 15-20 rows back in the upper deck with my parents and Kirby made a great catch in CF. He turned to the crowd and tipped his cap and waved his glove. I very exicitedly told my mom "Kirby waved at ME!" I was pretty young at the time... My first Target Field game was the ballpark's first night game - I remember because I was freezing! I ended up going to the pro shop and buying a jacket.... Yikes was that expensive. My first game this year will be on Monday. I'll probably be wearing that jacket again. Hoping for a win!

    I'm curious to see if Nolasco is on the 15-Day DL or if there's a bigger problem that will require surgery...

    I agree with that. I think both Twins fans and the Twins front office agree that the Twins are not going to win significantly more games in 2015 with Meyer and May in the rotation. But the Twins think some combo of Meyer, May, and the current rotation will win more in 2016 if they are in AAA as of today. I think the general consensus among fans is that the Twins aren't gaining anything by paying more money to Pelfrey, Stauffer, and the long list of 30+ 35+ year old re-treads in the last 4 years. That putting Meyer and May in the MLB rotation now is going to make the team better in the future.

    I think the point about Neil Allen being the org's best pitching coach is a great one. Who is best suited to be supervising and managing the development of Meyer and May? I don't think the time at AAA is meant to build confidence - I think it's more that the Twins know that with the control issues that Alex Meyer is displaying, he'll get eaten alive in the majors, and they are trying to preserve his confidence. I got to see Trevor May pitch in person at TF last year, and it was really apparent (from a small sample, of course) that he pitches on emotion - if he walked a guy, he'd stomp around, pound his mitt and shout into it. He'd "pitch angry" to the next guy, and it would alter his delivery. It worked in his favor sometimes, but other times it would get him in trouble. His fastball might be a little faster to the next guy, but less movement, and his secondary pitches would be a little less focused. I can't speak to the thought process of the front office, but I could believe that he's being asked to work on managing that in AAA.

    I'd love it if the Twins could avoid a series sweep and steal one today, but if a postponement means they avoid playing Herrmann today AND they get to start Hughes on Monday by pushing the whole rotation up a day... hey, that would be ok too.

    Milone and Pelf probably would be the least likely to start since they are scheduled to start this weekend. It's most likely Nolasco; if he can't go, they might push back Hughes a day, or Gibson moved a day early, or they'll call someone up to take the start(s) that Nolasco is going to miss.

    Any word on the expected length of the delay? Are they playing the game today, or will it be postponed?

    I don't think he does want out. I think he was flirting with someone on Twitter and other people jumped to conlcusions about his tweet. I think he's injured again, and it's probably killing him to pitch so poorly. My point is I don't think the injury was an excuse he was trying to make for his performance yesterday.
