  1. Relying on Gardenhire's analytical skills is illogical. He doesn't know the difference between dung and poundcake
  2. Too bad about Mastroianni. It'd be nice if he could develop the skill set to play the position.
  3. The extension was emblematic of the organization's stupidity with Gardenhire at the helm. Nishi should just head back home. It's sad, but, for dignity's sake he should just go. If only he was Jim Eisenrich and it was a medical/psychological situation. But, it's not. I haven't played a game of hardball in a decade and am 40 lbs. overweight and I know I could play better than him. It's just a mystery how he ever got signed.
  4. Too many otherwise savvy analysts on-air (and off) don't hold him accountable. I think they're afraid of him as if he were a Mexican drug lord or something. In playoff seasons Gardenhire has always been over-rated. It's easy to see how it happened. But, his abysmal post-season record and the last two seasons have exposed his deficiencies. He's a stupid, hidebound, petty, selfish fool. I don't know what the Pohlad's problem is. But, they're being taken for a ride.
  5. Arcia needs more seasoning says Terry Ryan as he's now fallen in love with Matt Carson as his probable starting RF in 2013, after they deal Denard's weak ass. Weak comment.
  6. Is Itzuris really any better than Carroll? He (Itzuris) gets moved around a lot. More or less an indication that no one believes in him. Carroll is a utility player, yes, but, he has certain positive intangibles. You could do a lot worse.
  7. Bl Add a few more decisions of the era... but you have to mention that it was not BS alone. Gardy and Andy and Co participated and blessed those decisions, if not lobbied for them. I remember Gardy was all so happy that he finally got his speedy SS in Nishioka and please do not tell me that Andy and Gardy had nothing to do in the extension of Blackburn and the re-singings of Pavano and Capps... Cannot blame everything on BS (that last one is on the interim too.) Gardy and Andy cannot be on the clear the whole time as well. They are the leaders of the worst team in the league 2 seasons in a row, they should be walking on very thin ice. More blame should go to Gardenhire. Keeping this slug around is the most counter-productive team decision bar none.
  8. A demotion is in order. You can't have a disaster at the key defensive position. And, he's practically an automatic out. Carrol at SS, Casilla at 2B.
  9. Like Blyleven said after his HR - it really looks like Trevor Plouffe is in a state of becoming a helluva good player. Gotta like his chances.
  10. He needed a reality check. The impression he gave was that he thought he was Graig Nettles, only prettier. Disfigured by vanity because he was lacklustre and sub-par. Look, you're in the major leagues - it's a big deal, a lot of glamour and status - it could turn anyone's head. But, it's a very tough and unforgiving game. A Josh Hamilton is rarer than a true blue Siamese sapphire.
  11. It's a mystical reality that when the Twins are winning good things start happening to me. Like now all kinds of studio jobs are falling into my lap (film promotion, trailers, :30 TV teasers, etc.). The Kid gets the sweep tomorrow.
  12. That bunt hit he got last night was a beaut.
  13. Souhan is wrong as usual. There's never any rigor to his argument. "Span is a wonderful guy. Get rid of him." Cheap, fatuous cynicism. That's his raison d'etre.
  14. A terrific W, really. Marcello's triple was big, Swarzak and Capps did the job, and Plouffe, Revere, Morny, the All-Star Willingham.
  15. Bench him for a bit and play Carroll there. The errors and non-error errors are demoralizing to team morale.
  16. Scott Diamond gets whatever credit is merited. This is the worst team in the league. Gardenhire is a moron's delight and should face a firing squad.
  17. And, Dickey was competent plus while he was here and they just threw him away like garbage. Lohse showed signs of being good while he was here, but , again didn't fit the procrustean Twins mold and was junked. Who made these decisions? My guess is Gardenhire who has to have a player suck up to him to be considered good. He's a ****ing idiot.
  18. I had a great arm. I played RF on a sandlot team with Amos Otis in CF and Garrt Alexander in LF. If it was just my arm alone - I'd have been a first ballot Hall Of Famer. I don't understand how a guy can make the bigs without a cannon or close to it.
  19. Give Devries another shot. The infield errors had to throw him off stride.
  20. Those 5th inning HRs by Morneau and Plouffe were important. Jared Burton is looking nasty. Burnett did a nice job, Carroll, and yes, Capps closing it out. They win this series they're in striking distance of .500. It's an offense now.
  21. What's the story with Dozier? Is he throwing too high, too low, what?
  22. Forgive the presumption, but I can tell you when (I ) developed a crystallized ice of contempt for Gardenhire. Sometime maybe a decade back, probably less - Steinbrenner paid a condescending compliment to Gardenhire, and Gardenhire the ****ing bumpkin took it to heart and was said to keep an autographed picture of Steinbrenner on his wall. As if, someday, after a little glory with the low-level Twins - Steinbrenner would summon the louche fool to MANAGE THE NEW TORK YANKEES. Wow! Ron Gardenhire, toadstool could spin around like a top and say: "See, see, look at me!" That's when I KNEW that he was a loser, bereft of Twins Pride. Can you imagine TK ever getting a nod on the head from that buffoon Steinbrenner and doing somersaults because of it? He (Gardenhire) never saw his opportunity to carry on a la TK and WIN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS. Look how many great players were Twins first and foremost: Killebrew, Oliva, Allison, Kaat, Carew, Blyleven, Puckett, Hrbek, Viola, Hunter, Santana, Liriano, Mauer, Morneau...**** the Yankees and their nearly 40 years of commodification! I wanted him gone THEN, 12 playoff losses in a row mostly to the Yankees, winning weak divisions and nothing else and now the debacle of the past two years - throwing away Papa, Garza, Hardy because they didn't do it that dismal joke of a manager's way is enough. He has no class, no savvy, no capacity to bring this franchise back. Andy seems to me to be too beholden to ****face, and the training staff's a joke. They've got to clean house and now.
  23. I'm in Malibu across the street from Geoffrey's. 4 2/3 scoreless relief, not bad.
  24. Trite, dull, lazy, hackwork. Mt cat could have written a better piece.
  25. Like to see him flourish as much as anyone but it's 1 game against MLB's worst hitting team.
