  1. A nice comeback and Capps just utterly destroyed it. It could've been a nice win, something to maybe build on. Can't they just get rid of the guy, now?
  2. Capps is wretched. That re-signing exemplifies the the abysmal incompetence of the entire organization. A rotation of Garza, Lohse, Santana, and Dickey would be a 1000% improvement on what they've got now. At least Doumit can hit.
  3. BD57 nailed it. And, didn't someone mention not long back that moaning and groaning about this (the contract) was a dopey waste of time which it is? I like Mauer, like him as the face of the franchise and like to see him do well, contribute to victories as we all do.
  4. Unless it's Span for a good frontline starter - forget it.
  5. So, Butera's not horrible, and maybe helped Diamond pitch his second beauty. OK. It's too bad about Plouffe. It seemed like he had a bat. Maybe if he hit at a .400 clip his next 10 games...In a way I'm glad the team's still hoping he'll still seize the day, you never know. And, Capps isn't an abomination. Another quasi-bright spot in a dark and lonely season.
  6. Either Butera or Burnett, Parmalee, I suppose, because he's not looking good. It's funny no one's mentioned Plouffe. What's he hitting - .100?
  7. When I see Gardenhire - I see a guy who presided over a 99 loss debacle only to be followed by a season heading towards a 125 loss hell. Have to imagine that many fans AND many players are seeing the same thing. The guy was always over-rated and he was a dismal leader in innumerable playoff games. Don't think he has the character to resign so, pretty please, fire his ass.
  8. Get Gladden's fire and winning ways in there, now. What's the holdup?
  9. Being in L.A. since '87, so I've never actually heard Gladden, but always appreciated his fire and winning ways and from what I've read of his comments the past two years - it's obvious he gives a damn. What's it gonna take to send Gardenhire packing and start afresh with Gladden at the helm?
  10. Thank you, Scott Diamond.
  11. Good. Been a good, loyal Twins fan a long time and I was a pretty good to very good Florida State player more than a few moons ago. I understood that TK had to move on, but over the years just got fed up with Gardenhire's monotonous stubbornness, luv of gritty subpar players and constant failure to advance in the numerous playoff chances. He just has always struck me as a bumptious near-idiot. Thought they should have bounced him five years ago. 7-21 coming off a 99 loss seaaon. They won't play for this man and why should they have to for another day?
  12. How has Tampa done it? And, Washington, now? Hard Throwing Starting Pitchers. That's their spastic imperative.
  13. Jamey Carrrol is playing good ball. He must be close to leading the league in walks and his defense has been fine. I'd hold up on bringing up Dozier.
  14. Already on anti-depressants (who isn't?). However, to be relentlously monotonous about it - I don't believe they will play for Gardenhire. Maybe, it's subconscious, but they're tuning him out. If it's Molitor who's in line for the job, it'd be nice to see a new regime in place even if they are headed for an epic fail which seems likely.
  15. The game was on here (L.A.) so unfortunately I saw it. I once broke up a no-hitter in Little League with a bunt hit. The way they're playing now - nothing would be out of line.
  16. its over for this team and with Gardenhire and Ryan and the Pohlads they will continue to be a disgrace for years to come.I
  17. At this point getting swept by the ****ing Angels 0-9, does the Burroughs move really matter? Why did they release Hughes last week who at least could put the bat on the ball unlike Burroughs? They're now 6-18. They look like they don't have a clue from game to game. Every pitcher is a crapshoot. Fundamentally, they're a terrible team. They're heading for a 40-122 season and I don't see a sliver of hope anywhere. There was a play tonight where Plouffe should have come in for a bunt and instead he stayed back and missed a chance at a DP. No communication, no heads up on Plouffe's part. Get rid of Gardenhire and Ryan, draft power pitchers, get rid of "The Twins Way", startt fresh, the philosophy is shot. Kyle Lohse looks like Cy Young these days. It's very depressing.
  18. Great news. What's next - Willingham goes blind? Doesn't this come down to the training/medical staff again? That they make The Three Stooges look like the Mayo Clinic?
  19. I agree with this futile litany. A productive Mauer and Morneau is important to the club, so the complaints are just inane. My main complaint will never change - Gardenhire and Ryan, but especially Gardenhire. He's stupid and incompetent and his imbecilic standards of what makes a good player have chased away Papi, Garza, and Hardy. I don't know how he got the job in the first place. Looking gritty is not a qualification to manage. It sucks that they're losing, but, if it helps kick his dumb ass out the door - I'm all for it.
  20. Forget Burroughs, he's done. Plouffe I'm not so sure about. but where do you play him?
  21. My cat can hit better than Butera and can work a few walks as well. Anybody but Butera.
  22. Good for Pavano, best pitched game of the year and runs on the 1st. Be nice if Liriano can deliver.
  23. What happened to Rene Tosoni?
  24. A 40 HR, 120 RBI season from Willingham would make up for a lot of pathetic moves like Santana, and Garza for zip.
  25. He's perfectly named. Just a nameless shadow that comes in and quickly kills rallies: Gray.
