    Fire Gardenhire, Ryan, Vavra, Anderson, the rest of the coaching staff, the training staff, and start afresh. Do it tonight. It should have been done years ago.

    Willingham hasn't given them a good AB in a week. And, when's Doumit coming back?

    Willingham can't take a third strike with the bases loaded. And, move Mauer up to #2. Get Doumit back in there.

    I'd go with Willingham in RF, Span in CF, and Revere in LF. Sure, they need an all-around OF, as to whom that would be...? I'd like to see what Revere can do. Stick with Plouffe at 3B.

    And, he struck out the side on 9 pitches in the late innings. Best game all year, just what you want to see from a rookie pitcher after a 1st inning gopher ball. Good approach at the plate from Lexi, and Carroll. I don't expect 'em to get to .500, but you have to like the determination now. This is what Valencia and Parmalee were not giving them.

    Have to wonder if the Ryan (and/or Gardenhire?) signing of Marquis wasn't a deliberate sabotage of the franchise, a burn it all to hell going away present. Nobody wanted the guy, right? Yet, they gave him $3 mill. It's not as if he was coming off an injury and that scared teams away. You knew what you were getting with him, i.e. garbage. It doesn't make sense.

    You have to almost think that Ryan (and/or Gardenhire) wanted to sabotage the team, hurt the Pohlads by signing Marquis. No one wanted the guy, right? Yet, they picked him up. It just makes no sense. They could have found a homeless guy, signed him to the minimum and thrown him out there and the results would have been better.

    Jettison Marquis. Mediocre at best and they knew it all along.

    Perkins, Gray, and Capps. Nice SF AB by Dozier, Plouffe, and 2 more hits by Son Of Sal. Quality start by Pavano. Keep at it.

    Good to see Mauer and Morneau hitting. Good work by the pen, specially Swarzek when it was still close. Diamond gets the win, a triple by Revere, etc.

    Liriano should remain in the pen. I don't know what his problem is, but, it's a matter of what's working, and what isn't.

    Souhan is gutless. It's Gardenhire who has to go. He's an odious presence in that dugout, a proven loser. No other organization in the game would coddle someone like this. Ryan, too, but that can wait.

    Maybe they should have gone with the Marquis De Sade. An imposing presence on the mound and off.

    Parmalee makes the most sense. He was just hopeless. Marquis is Marquis - just a dismal excuse for a starting pitcher. And, did anyone catch Gardenhire's justification for sending out Capps in the Strib - "That's the way it's always done around here and will always be done"? What a stupid *******. Nothing like a defiant piece of garbage. Does anyone have a contact address for the Pohlads? That quote by itself is a firing offense, it's a gross insult to the fans, and the entire organization.
