  1. Id roll with Revere in LF, Span in CF platoon Komatsu/Mastro in RF w/Plouffe @ 3B w/Josh DHin. That's a pretty solid defensive OF
  2. Manship also went 89pitches tonight. Looks better than the 5IPs. Ive hated Blackburn since he first came up.......cant wait till he's gone.
  3. Revere 23gms in AAA 31-94 for a .330BAve 1 double (1 frickin XBH) with only 4bbs.......can see why Terry Ryan doesnt love him
  4. could bring Burrouighs back up if you get desparate. Sano idea is absurd. Im fine with Trevor for time bein
  5. what was there to like about Bates?? 134gm @ ROC over 2 yrs (442ABs) & he had 7HR 47 RBI. He did have 71bb's but ony 27doubles...nothing to write home about or save a spot for him. At least Burroughs has shown that he is a MLB caliber player in bits/pieces. With 26yr old Ramirez in AAA, I could see less playin time/release of 31 yr old Matt Carson. Getting spots for 40 man roster is easy as they could take Nishi & Tosoni off & not risk losing either.
  6. Bates...who cares --47RBI in 130+ gms..done.....Thurston has been horrible but has been a solid AAAA guy. Burroughs should play alot of 1B but this might come with a Parmelee demotion. Waldrop could go to New Brit to fill in for the next wk or 2 to give em enuff pitchers. Whats the injury stats on other ROC guys, Dink, Hollimon & Ft Myers Watts & Stuffbergen
  7. Gardy?????
  8. obviously surgery is risky....point taken. What are the benefits of not just havin the surgery & havin him ready for next season. Surgeries show the guy will be ready to go by next April. With rehab, if all goes along with what they did with Ft Myers pitcher Miguel Munoz (rehab over surgery)......he comes back in July to pitch a handful of games while babying the elbow & NOT pushing him. Then next season, they have to hope that the elbow is actually fully rehabbed & hope their is no re-tear. They have NOT allowed Munoz to start yet & is getting sporadic time in pen. Seems to be no benefit from waiting it out while the worst possible is he needs surgery later this summer/next spring (ala PNeshek) & he's out 2 full yrs.
  9. Nobody has answered my question tho about how would you feel about Hicks if he was just drafted last summer & this was his first yr with his numbers/talent currently......or if Benson/Parmelee were college guys & only count their numbers after 09 summer. If we were to draft Zunino or Devin Merrerro (wont but....)would you be excited with numbers like these after a year or 2??
  10. I was talking about his 2011 ROC season when I was discrediting him. Count me as one that hated dealing one of the organizations few hard throwers (and 2nd round pick) in Billy Bulloch for him & he stunk it up last yr, pure & simply.......then got a promotion IMO only to justify the trade (we were also runnin out of pitchers) and wasnt very good in Sept either. It wasnt yrs 21-23 for me as I said, he had some decent seasons for ATL but was left unprotected after not being drafted. Not worth a young 2nd rounder IMO. Sure has proved me wrong....not unwilling to admit that. I see in my original post I didnt give him any credit & I absolutely am. Passionately hate pitchers who walk guys, so Diamond is my kind of pitcher......just frustrated with Twins lack of power arms. He had a solid K % in his minor league career & hope he can somewhat carry that over to help him out. Obviously, take him right now over the incredibly overrated Nick Blackburn & also over the much more talented Liriano.
  11. i have been extemely anti-Diamond....mainly cause Im tired of 88/89mph guys but mostly cause of his horrid yr @ ROC. Looking back @ his ATL minor league #s.....he was pretty decent. 7.1 K per 9IP for his minor league career is pretty good for a soft tosser also.
  12. Plouffe is out of options & there is nobody else to play 3B.
  13. sad that every Twins fan/media member already knows the outcome......only the organization thinks its possible. Kinda like the expectations of this season.
  14. hate that Bert/Dick claim that 'Dozier not known for his power'.....makes you wonder if they even know that he slugged .491 last yr. They are so old schooled that the only power a guy has is HRs & the only good stat for a pitcher is Ws.
  15. I am complerely fine with sending Burnett out. Ive believed he absolutey could use some AAA time to refine his pitches & regain some confidence. Using him in 5th/6th here does nobody any good in his development. Still only 23 yrs old. Hope Guerra keeps it up & gets Gray out of here.
  16. SHOULD be Gray.....IF Diamond pitches well, & gets sent back down.....can you see the revolt of fans!!! ESPN 1500 is reporting Pavano is dealing with shoulder issues, could they DL him?? Cant see another pitcher being moved other than Gray.
  17. How do you view them differently. Aaron Hicks was drafted out of high school & has been a slight/more of a disappointment to most. However, if he were drafted out of college....he woulda been picked last summer. He is @ New Brit & only 22 yrs old but is on pace for a 140gm minor league season of 92runs 16HR 80RBI 72BB 36Sbs. If he was our #1 pick last yr & already @ AA, would fans be more excited about him?? I made the same points on boards last summer about Chris Parmelee. He is only 24 but IF he was a college draft pick in 09 (instead of high school in 06) & made the MLB team after only 2 full minor league season, would he be thought of differently. Same with Joe Benson who woulda been a collegiate pick in 09. How would his last 2 minor league yrs be viewed now?? Would both their last 2 minor league seasons seem better?
  18. Matt Capps is healthy tho:D
  19. Benson is the type of player who could go 15-25 w/5HR this upcoming week. That is how streaky he is/has been. Would be nice to see Hermsen/Bromberg each get to AAA this year based on performance & not kept in New Brit due to a percieved MN timeline of how/when to get promoted.
  20. There is showing loyalty Seth IMO, & there is knowing that you are completely being overlooked by the organization, who could just add you to the 40 man roster. Look at some of the junk on the roster & then knowing that coming off a very solid season that they didnt want to do what they had to to keep ya......Id have walked also.
  21. I like Duensing a lot & think his contributions as a starter in 09/10 were largely overlooked.....but he is best used in the pen. So we weaken 2 spots by putting Brian back into rotation. I want to keep the pen as is (Deolis up for Gray but after that). His 96mph fastball in pen goes back to 91 in rotation & we have plenty of those. Hate the idea. If we need another starter, Im more for goin after Cole DeVries or David Bromberg.
  22. Incredible, isnt it
  23. After a solid 10 gm AAA stint in 2010, why is David Bromberg still in in AA. He absolutely got the butterfly effect injury last yr in AA.....as he doesnt break his arm if he's in ROC, where he belonged (if ya believe in that ). Lets get him to AAA & possibly up to MN if needed (and of course earned) as he's our only hard throwing starter in organization.
  24. problem with Guerra or Lester Oliveras or Kyle Waldrop is cracking the bullpen right now is tough. Capps/Burton/Perk/Duensing are locks & Burnett has been untouchable for 3 yrs (tho pitching well this yr) & Swarzak/Gray out of options. Gray is the obvious one, but I still think the organization like him (for some reason). Maybe when Liriano goes back to rotation, there is a spot open. How funny is it that a pitcher cannot crack this staff
