  1. FWIW, within the last couple weeks I heard Gardy talk about Parmelee in the outfield and he didn't pull the usual managerspeak one uses when one doesn't want to crap on his own player. He stated straight out that he thinks he can play there and wants to give him that chance. Ive heard the same interviews where he thought he could get him 4/5 starts week right now, just resting every starter that it would effect a day per week. Carson is definately a Terry Ryan move
  2. still hope someone finds out what happenned with Jairo
  3. Think its funny that many people have Arcia as 4th/5th best prospect in organiation right now (I do also for that matter). Oz wont get enough ABs to qualify for any of the Eastern Lg titles, but with his 51 AAgms he would currently lead the league in BAve w/.337 (2 players at .322) lead the league in OBP w/ .412 (Chien Hsui Chen leads in hitting & OBO @ .411) 2nd in slgg w/.556 (Readings 26yr old 1B Darin Huff @ .596....only 3 players over .500 tho) also hitting .316/.375/.526 off lefties in 57ABs (huge weakness over first couple yrs)
  4. Albers is actually starting for New Brit tonight so he musta been activated
  5. I go back n forth on the AAA experience for a player and its just as solid at AA to get that playing time. Ive said it this whole year....I get frustrated by getting rid of our own players we developed who sign elsewhere (Solarte, DMartin, BRoberts for ex) & go sign the same players from other organizations INSTEAD of keeping our own guys. With the solid New Brit lineup...next year will really tell how the organization thinks of our own.
  6. The Twins have been dulluged with the minor league FAs because Terry Ryan/co. dont like the people in the organization that they themselves drafted. Gets em a backhanded compliment of 'look how well they signed these retread FA's' when it should be seen as a criticism of them, in my eyes.
  7. Was lookin @ New Brits transactions & dont have either his activation/DL listed.....curious if he is on roster
  8. They were 18th in the 2012 Baseball America listing. I think they could crack the top 10. Adding 2 #1picks this yr who have impressed, 2 supplemental #1 picks last yr who have done well this year in their first crack adds depth, & the 4 top players from last yrs list have all improved (sans Benson/Michaels). Add in Gibson being healthy, it wouldnt shock me at all. Only downside is the lack of top flight pitchers.
  9. I think most people were a lil surprised that MN cut Matt Bashore this spring....signed w/NYY High A (FSL) 5gms..all relief 10IP 13h 4er (3.60ERA) 7k 7bb Sent back to Low A 11gm..all starts 50IP 38h (.210BAA) 21ER (3.78ERA) 42k 26bb...not great but start on 7/22 2.1IP 7h 10er 1k 3bb. Pretty good 2.10 ERA in those other 10 starts. Of course, he is 24 & still in Low A. If they hadnt waived him, LaVelle Neal would still be touting him as one of the top pitching prospects
  10. Bullock was finally promoted to AAA this yr for ATL 14gm 20.1IP 33h (.355BAA) 25er (11.07ERA) 26k 23bb His control certainly took a dive when he left the Twins organization W/MN 91gms 107.2IP 101h 38er (3.18ERA) 150k 56bb w/ATL 85gms 102.2IP 97h 65er (5.70ERA) 123k 85bb Probably being a 3rd round pick, but Bullocks first 2 yrs in MN really looks alot like Corey Williams stats. Maybe we can flip him for a starter also.
  11. Matt Carson.....that puts a lot of faith into the fans that the front office knows what its doin
  12. ^^^knocked that set up out of the park, well done!!! Romero's ERA in those gms is 7.28, still way lower than Blackburns
  13. So Bromberg pitches 3gms @ ROC.. 11.1IP 7h 1er 7k 4bb & he gets sent BACK to New Brit.....wow these guys amaze me Did Andrew Albers get re-activated & immediately go back on DL???
  14. Anyone else wanna give a look to Esmeril?? At 28 yrs old, he younger than Samuel Deduno/year older than DeVries, so they cant use that as an excuse. 6starts 31IP 24h 3.19ERA 37k 8bb .216BAA 23 releif games, 57.1IP 41h 2.67era 50k 25bb .204BAA
  15. Another thing that I think makes Wash look bad is Stras is now 2 full yrs removed from surgery.....not one year. If this year were his first innings back from surgery, I would think about his differently....but he was back & rehabbing strong last year. I wouldnt have a problem with 180IP, if they woulda announced that number earlier. You can work with that. It the change to 180IP after they took massive heat all yr. I have no problem with Kyle Gibson bein kept at 180 next yr, but Mn already showed how they believe in their rehab by havin FLiriano go 200IP (majors/minors) in his first yr back in 08
  16. Hermsen went 5IP tonight 5h 1er 4k 64pitches Assume the Twins are starting to wind down the innings pitched of their fulltime pitchers. BJ at 139.1IP (151.1IP last yr) Would actually like them to increase his innings from last yr to around 165-170 to see if he's got it in him. Is also gonna go to AFL for more innings, tho (I would assume).
  17. Thought about posting an identical thread on Elvis Andrus today. That is about what I was thinking on a trade. They are gonna deal him this winter, so why not make a case for him. Couldnt care less that he's got 2 yrs left till FA, if that bothers ya....we can sign another Jamey Carroll to a contract. Dont see how DSpan works in NY cause he doesnt at all (outfield/leadoff hitter). However, Phil Hughes is someone who could flourish outside Yankee Stadium & would be well worth looking into. Also, how about lookin into Ricky Romero from TOR. Everyone argues we need an ace & he is....but we may be able to buy low on him. He's due 22.5m for the next 3 yrs with a 4th yr option. They have had interst in the big Canadian first baseman also...to center a trade around.
  18. There is absolutely NO data that shows lowering the pitchers innings after TJ surgery is harmful/good. Its all doctor opinion. There are cases on both sides of the arguement. Pitchers recovered from TJ have argued this point this summer. It's a case by case basis. WASH/Rizzo didnt think they would be in the playoff hunt/this has caught them by surprise. There wasnt any press when they did it last yr for Jordan Zimmerman. The fact that a team front office would effectively 'not give its all' in the playoffs is embarrassing. There are players upset with this as they know that no matter how strong WASH looks, there is no guarrantee that they will be back in the playoffs in the next few yrs. 4 more yrs from now, after protecting Strasburg (in their eyes), he can still just leave em as a FA with nothing to look back on but 'what ifs' on their playoff run that could've been.
  19. Manship is out of options, so there is no worry there. Noticed the ROC activated JR Towles/Mike Hollimon from DL. This had them @ 25players BEFORE the 2 pitchers being sent down. What's the guess on the player to be released(??) to get them to 25??
  20. Esmeril Vazquez is making a heck of a case to be recalled & getting 7/8 starts down the stretch also
  21. With DET 146gms 576ABs .267/.296/.415 67runs 23doubles 1triples 20Hrs 79rbi 0/2sb 103k 21bb only 65 of those starts in LF....something MN failed to realize (might have devasted him) would benefit the team Very average player.....what a waste
  22. Bascially the Twins are saying that Joe Vavra can do nothing with Dozier & they need Brunansky to work with him for a couple wks. Remember how horrible Ben Revere was at the plate last yr....sometimes it takes an offseason for everything to sink in Dont know if they wanted to waste an option year tho....
  23. No way I would have Polanco that low when Niko Goodrum is ranked higher. Polanco is absolutely higher in any ranking I do than Goodrum. Jorge is a full year younger & while playing in the same league.....has blown Niko away offensively.
  24. typical Gardy move in that there is nothing to be gained from it. Blackburn & Butera still here. ?????
