  1. Do the Twins have the only 2 starters that dont pitch out of the windup in MLN in Vasquez/Duensing??
  2. Maybe the others, but he is not higher rated/thought of than Hendriks. Problem with PJ, Deduno, DeVries is that this should be the ROC rotation next year, but MN wont be able to send Walters/Deduno back down
  3. The list also doesnt include massive failure signings of Jeff Gray, Matt Maloney & Matt Rizzotti.....as well as lesser failures in Eric Komatsu & Clete Thomas as well as a signing I didnt like at the time but turned out in Esmeril Vazquez. When they sign 20 players, a couple of em will turn out to be assets....problem is they had to sign 20 of em because they refuse to give their own prospects the chance
  4. after his Beloit promotion, the lefthander has retained an excellent K rate. 31IP 34K 12bb Have hard throwers we have in A Ball that dont strike guys out, so this is a nice surprise
  5. PJ Walters pitched his final AAA gm tonight (still technically a rehab)....how long is a guy allowed on a rehab, thought it was 20 days(first Aug game was the 4th)??...looked, pitchers get 30 days. 5IP 93pitched 5h 4er 5k 2bb 6 rehab starts 16IP 24h 13er 7.31era 18k 7bb Is he even worth re-activating as he has to take a 40 man spot better spent on a true prospect
  6. How bad is Span hurt or how pissed is the organization/manager at him when he was in the initial lineup today then said he couldnt go. They couldnt/wouldnt even use him as a pinchrunner today/in Sept Also, Carson is not in the lineup for ROC tonight.....
  7. dont know if this is it, but ESPN 1500 says that Matt Carson (whom it hints could be the move) couldnt be called up till Sept 3 (must spend 10 days in minors) unless a player is put on the DL.
  8. wonder if MN would move Berrios up to BEL for their playoff game. He would be on his natural rest for Game 1
  9. Max final numbers 59gms 232ABs .297/.387/.539 40runs 16doubles 5triples 10HR 49rbi 33k 27bb 7/7sb's finished first in Slgg & Total Bases 2nd in OPS, triples & RBI Tied 4th in HR/doubles 6th in OBP 9th in BAve, tied 9th in runs Will be nice to see how he rates this offseason in the top 100.....definately outperformed Bubba
  10. Baker was fine MN docs said, it was that he couldnt pitch with pain and that he had to quit babying his arm/elbow. That was the best diagnosis of all time
  11. First, I don't think anybody will claim an injured player (especially one who is going to miss and entire year). I would be very surprised if it happens. 2nd, I don't think an injured player would elect to become a minor league FA. $72k is still better than nothing. Teams claim/sign injured players...think TEX gave Brandon Webb a 2 yr deal & he never pitched. It doesnt take up a roster spot if you're put on 60 day DL...what's the risk If he did clear waivers, I think he automatically becomes a FA.....MN/ROC would have to sign him
  12. who's all had the TJ this yr?? Scot Baker Lester Oliveros Alex Wimmers Matt Maloney Daniel Sattler Carlos Gutierrez had shoulder surgery Manuel Sollimon had shoulder surgery Any word on Adrian Salcedo??
  13. will actually goin on DL hurt Span's value this offseason?? Guess it doent matter if he's not able/willing to play the rest of the yr
  14. announced Gardy postgame....according move to be announced tomorrow lil surprised with Sept 1 callups a day away
  15. yeah you can DFA him, but another team is gonna claim him & stash him on the 60 day DL till he recovers. Arm is still too valuable to give him away for nothing. If nobody were to claim him he'd be a 6yr FA, so are ya gonna risk losing him over 400k
  16. No doubt that the minor league signing are still playing catchup for those couple of years that the minor league system was so bad. New Brit players are pretty solid this year so the AAA team should be fairly sound. Ft Myers roster doesnt show many that will get a shot in AA, so that may be where MN starts to stack some minor league retreads.
  17. I don't think this is the case. He would have to be on the ML Roster to go on the 60 Day DL. Since he is in the minors, I don't believe that they can do that. I believe last year Blomberg was on the 40-man roster all year even though he was out with an injury all season. If you are injured in minor leagues, you are correct that they cannot be 60 day'd on 40 man roster. However, next spring he is still vieing for a spot on the team & can be moved to 60 day when the season starts but he also wont be charged an option year right away. It will get Oliveros a full salary share also for the time on the DL (minimum of 500K over the 72K he woulda made in AAA so the injury is a good financial decision!!!)
  18. final numbers 58gms 232ABs .250/.310/.496 44runs 7doubles 4triples 14HR 45RBI 76K 19bb 4/4sb's Tied for first in HRs 2nd in Ks 4th in RBI/Runs Tied 6th in triples 7th in slgg
  19. finished the ELIZ season 21gms 77ABs .286/.368/.429 16runs doubles triple HR 6rbi 15k 8bb 7/7sb's
  20. while a couple of the minor league moves have worked out/helped for time being.....I still wish we would give our own prospects the same chances that we give to other teams garbage/castoffs. I know it was during the time MN was very good and none of these players are stars, but MN never gave opportunites to Steve Tolleson, Jason Pridie, Darnell McDonald, Garrett Jones, Trent Oiltjen, Kevin Cameron, Phil Humber etc & other teams have
  21. Frustrating I posted something earlier this summer about Patrick Reusse talking about him needing to have TJ surgery, but nothing came of it & Lester started pitching again. Wonder if he was told about the possibility. Opens up a spot on the 40 man next spring when they 60 day DL him. Could be used for a vet type. There was also a thread commentating on how bone chip surgery can easily lead to TJ surgery. This helps that arguement
  22. Id love to hear an explanation on why Parm wasnt playing ANY OF in ROC. Its like last year when they called up Tosoni to play LF when he had played something like 10 career gms in LF. Sent back to AAA, he played RF/CF was called back up & played LF again. Strange how they do things. Also, why isnt Dozier playing any 2B in ROC as that is what he'll play if recalled.
  23. not good PR move to extend a guy after the last 2 seasons, but I think that is what they will do also. Dont think he'd retire (if fired)....would defintately see him taking another job soon
  24. have the Twins ever called up someone in Sept & then sent them to the AFL also. Specifically thinking about Hermann this year. Cant remember any, but not sure.
  25. too bad playoff games dont count in seasonal stats....great game by Jose that wil never be documented
