  1. Doom......you ain't that fast.
  2. Well it's nice to see you're finally keeping up.
  3. Good lord, nice assumptions cool guy. Clearly you've never spent much time on the internet at all.
  4. See, now that was helpful, did not know that, thank you.
  5. Not every comment is criticism, I have always been an ardent opponent of the hindsight crowd, I agree with you. I for one am not critical of the Twins for releasing Doyle, if they figured they had seen what they were going to see, fair enough and granted they didn't see much. I was just pondering on whether they could have found a spot for him somewhere, to see if he could develop a little more of what they thought they might be getting when they made him a rule 5 pick.
  6. I was pretty surprised they released Doyle when they did, and a little disappointed. I know he was awful and I actually saw one of his starts on MLB.TV but to not have him go somewhere in the minors to explore whether he could work his way back didn't make a lot of sense to me. I mean they basically chucked close to 1 million on Zumaya, why not keep a rule 5 guy around a little longer.
  7. Ok Minneapolitans and St. Paulites, who has the best wings in town? Getting tired of my usual haunts and need to explore some possible uncharted territory. My current favourites happen to be grouped around the U of M, including Big Ten's, Leaning Tower of Pizza and my all time favourite, Pagoda, not your typical chicken wing but a crazy high deliciousness factor, plus after nine double your order for .99 cents and 2 for 1 bottled beer. I'm also a fan of Runyon's and Rudolph's. Every suggestion is welcome..............except if it's Pizza Luce, that place is a big WTF?
  8. I long ago decided the only way to rid myself of Souhan loathing was to stop reading him, so I did. I am cleansed.
  9. It is if you're still a fan of Strongbad and the Cheat.
  10. Agree with Hendriks but he'll eventually tighten up his breaking pitches as well. I think Diamond, so far has shown excellent off-speed stuff and while Frankie will always have his slider (provided he's throwing fastballs near the zone) I was pretty surprised to see his change-up work as well as it did against Oakland. He didn't go back to it much against KC though.
  11. Really, you have a PHD in Philosophy?.......now I'm just embarrassed.
  12. Although I will concede that as I witnessed Cabrera launch that 0-2 fastball 410 feet, at my son's first Twins game, turning out what was setting up to be a picture perfect day, I thought about plotting an unfortunate accident for Matt Capps. But hey, he has kids too and this is baseball and I got to run the bases with my kid so, no hard feelings. I think.
  13. With both fists.
  14. You're right, thank you. It should have read, "It's likely that if the premises are true then therefore so are the conclusions. Though not logically required. Personallly I'm starting to think that Thrylos believes in Reinchenbach's attempt of "pragmatic justification of induction", in that, if there is any chance of something happening based on what has happened then we are justified in reasoning inductively since it's guaranteed to work if anything would. But I agree with Hume.
  15. What a burden it must be to be the smartest man alive
  16. My terror inducing fear that he would ever become manager has finally been put to rest with this post..............along with a few others.
  17. And yes, in hindsight I would still like to have Lohse.
  18. Are facts convenient bits of truth, cherry picked to support your theory and supported entirely by hindsight? I wish they were beer, I could use one after reading this s**t.
  19. It's inductive logic, which claims nothing more than something being likely to be true. If the premise is true, then therefore, so is the conclusion. The only caveat is that the inductive process has to be used correctly and in this case it is not. It is far to convenient, it's really a generalization to conclude that the reason for the change in statistics is due to a change in coaching staffs. It also leaves out all of the pitchers who had success under Anderson and Gardy, by eliminating all of that empirical data it fails under the microscope of correct reasoning. It's illogical. All this represents is a simplistic comparison of stats to attempt to prove a predetermined, inference based conclusion. Or simply put, his opinion.
  20. It's called a smokescreen.
  21. Went 6 innings in his first start for the Padres vs the Giants, gave up 4 runs, 2 earned, on 9 hits, including a tape measure shot by Buster Posey. He threw 91 pitches, 61 TS and 30 TB, 1 BB and inexplicably 6 SO. Must be the coaching.
  22. Wow, that is one of the most polysyllabic posts I've ever read, you're one smart dude, are you a Biochemist? Too bad you seemingly know nothing about hockey.
  23. I blame Gardy for that, he should have known better than to send him up bat.
  24. Well there were 3 f***ing idiots preceding Gardy who also dumped Dickey, give me a break, choosing him and Lohse as examples is convenient logic.
  25. LOL, or more accurately the belief that the way you manage your MLB2K12 is the same way you would manage a real team.
