  1. I still like Trevor but he and Dozier have been clueless tonight, not mentally into the game.
  2. My god why can't they just get a look at what this guy is throwing, swing at so many pitches out of the zone. Just piss poor batting by Plouffe and Dozier.
  3. That play by Casilla was sheer laziness. Is it me or have the Twins acted like it's in the bag since Paulino left? This is awful.
  4. Too bad he's not who Bill Smith seemed to think he was.
  5. You know what, that is becoming far too frequent!!
  6. Lol, I'll vote for that.
  7. Well this bodes well, they go by committee?
  8. Morney, Morney, c'mon buddy.......
  9. Buxton. Mhouse, "Hopefully" is the operative word in your last post, it's pretty hopeful that any of those arms will ever become a number 2, let alone in 2-3 years. It's far more hopeful Buxton projects as well as he's expected to, which either brings us a fine player in 4-5 years or some pitching depth if his prospect status stays high in 2-3. I think a player like Buxton can get us better pitching down the road than what we could have drafted this year.
  10. According to Joe C. he hasn't even swung a bat yet.

Alexi Casilla, 2B 9. Darin Mastroianni, RF Starting pitcher: RH Nick Blackburn (1-4, 8.37 ERA) 1.Alex Gordon, LF 2. Johnny Giavotella, 2B 3. Billy Butler, DH 4. Mike Moustakas, 3B 5. 12. I'm not sure Hendriks will ever have a single pitch filthy enough to be his defacto "out" pitch, I'm also not sure he needs one. His biggest strength is his ability to mix 5 different pitches, his success depends on how well he throws those pitches, particularly his breaking pitches and his change-up. I think when he was up earlier he wasn't throwing those pitches very effectively, bad location when he did throw them for strikes but mostly missing for balls. The LAA game in Anaheim was the culmination of that, hitters were waiting to see if he could locate those pitches and when he couldn't they jumped on him, he had to go to his fastballs far too often and they became predictable, especially for major league hitters. He was also leaving many of those far to high in the zone. The upside is he is mowing guys down at AAA, if he keeps working and gets the rotation on those breaking pitches tighter it sets up his fastballs and subsequently his change-up. All of those could be out pitches if he sets guys up the way he is now and brings the confidence and self belief he is currently showing with him when he returns to the Twins.
  13. Our young prospect rebounded from his flu induced poor outing last week by posting a 7 inning complete game(rain delayed doubleheader) shutout over the Columbus Clippers last night to improve his record to 4-0. Hendriks gave up 4 hits, struck out 8 and walked one, it was his 1st career pro shutout. In 6 games Hendriks sports a 2.39 ERA, 32 SO, 11 BB while giving up 26 hits over 37.2 innings. Way to rebound Liam!
  14. He took a pretty good cut at that one he just hit foul of left field. Bremer was also calling 75 mph fastballs by Chen.
  15. doumit first pitch swinging after a walk, not good discipline, too bad, pitching got it done tonight.
  16. Let's string some hits together, we can't afford to waste pitching like this.
  17. Great stuff and anyone who actually saw the game would come to the same conclusion. I wonder what the issue will be tonight from the glass half empty crowd.
  18. Sigh, he had a good game, stop the over analysis, that's all it is.
  19. Too easy fellas, to eager to swing at junk, make him work.
  20. Way to come out of that Frankie, more than one way to skin a cat (not endorsing that for the politically correct crowd).
  21. You're right, they sure showed that last night. The point is poor pitching nets the results from last night, good pitching nets results like they had against Liriano.
  22. Good analysis, lots of facts.
