  1. I give Pelfrey one more start, if it remotely resembles the first two, it's time for Deduno.
  2. Odds on Pelfrey or Anderson saying he felt real good during his pen session?
  3. Well, at least there's the pitching, they said........
  4. I guess if you're being obtuse, I think you're deliberately distorting the opinion of the poster you quoted. It's really just about how silly it is to second guess a single at bat by a guy who hits at the rate Mauer does. It's pretty easy to see a good pitch go by from your couch, I'll trust whatever Joe was thinking and feeling at the time, he's earned that. I don't think Mauer is above criticism but this is a stretch. Seriously? He doesn't get the pitch he was looking for, works a walk to keep the inning alive and this earns him scorn? http://www.sherv.net/cm/emo/funny/1/bang.gif
  5. I did and mentioned it in another thread, it speaks volumes to me, especially coming from a guy who's in a position to know.
  6. Where does this belief that to be a leader you have to be some loud mouth idiot come from? Honestly it's so cliche and myopic. Mauer appears to be a leader to me, he leads by example with his preparation, consistency and ability to do what's necessary to help his team. He's not a demonstrative goofball, so this means he's not a leader? I just don't get it.
  7. I'll go with the judgment of the career .323 hitter, second guess away, that's not arrogant?
  8. And a walk is always better than an out. With all due respect to the statues on the grounds, they didn't always get that hit you're promising. Oh and they'll find a place for Mauer's statue some day too.
  9. Yes swinging at bad pitches and getting an out would have been preferable.
  10. Go to he** maybe, I'd be alright with that.
  11. A return to the Premier League in the cards for the Gulls anytime soon? Managing LFC in FIFA 14 on my son's Xbox is my guilty pleasure these days, I'm addicted.
  12. Nothing to colourful when it comes to United! I'm very aware of the Hillsborough disaster and the upcoming anniversary. The very first name on the memorial outside of Anfield is my Mom's uncle, John Alfred Anderson, I remember it pretty vividly. Two of my cousins were also at the game, it was pretty stressful as the phones were tied all day and my Aunt couldn't hear from them, fortunately they were ok, they were lifted from the madness. I have a special Liverpool/Everton commemorative scarf from the memorial service at Anfield, not something you see everyday. A win over Man City would be a special way to mark the day for the fans. Good luck in the playoff hunt!
  13. Arcia, Pinto, Mauer, Gibson
  14. Welcome Easy 10, glad to have you aboard. Nice to have a knowledgeable football fan on the board, look forward to some discussion in the Sports Bar. My Mom was born and raised in Liverpool and most of my family still lives there , so sorry I'm a diehard Reds fan (although half the family are blue noses). I'm on pins and needles waiting on this weekends match with Man City. It would be so nice to see the title after 24 long years, especially for Gerrard and a win would go a long way in that. That's a beautiful looking stadium, how many does it seat? p.s. I share your hatred of Man U, I wouldn't wipe my a** with one of those shirts.
  15. Colabello is a major reason to watch right now, he's paid his dues and has earned his shot, I'm pulling for him. Great to hear what he says about Mauer. I think that's a big plus for Colabello, he's smart enough to pay attention to the things that make guys like Mauer great and take something from it.
  16. Kubel could be their best trade asset if he keeps this up.
  17. If Burton is having a reasonably good season by the deadline they should most definitely get the most they can for him.
  18. I think he gets in, as long as he continues his career averages for the most part. Question is, does it really matter that much?
  19. Now that I'd pay to see! Dave, we are talking about Nascar (at least I am), I'm suggesting possible rule changes to bring in viewers, such as myself.
  20. I'm with Chief, who cares about keeping up. Just post what you're thinking and if it makes no sense to the current conversation, you're right on track.
  21. Half left, half right, see who the real drivers are!
  22. I think what would really spice up Nascar is halfway through the race make them turnaround and go the other way.
  23. That was planned, set up the DP, easy.
  24. Dutch or French? Do the America's Cup sailing, unreal fun!
