  1. I can't fault the Twins for offering more annually with less years, it's a competitive offer, injuries played a factor obviously.
  2. Kenny??.......Kenny?!!! 4.7 MB
  3. Ok, technically that is true and I do hope Pelfrey will becomes stronger and more reliable now that he's further removed from TJ, but stating that he hit his stride and was the 2nd best pitcher on that staff is really just saying he was the 2nd least awful starter they had last year, for awhile anyway.
  4. Which sadly brings up the question of why TR signed Correia for 2 years again.
  5. For what it's worth, I agree with you.
  6. Not if Kirstie Alley is one of your references.
  7. Does this help??
  8. Might still be an upgrade from Florimon
  9. We hardly knew ye...
  10. Great interview. There is a pretty good chance a lot of teams will regret letting Gonsalves slide so low. His bad rep was such a non-issue I was pretty surprised people didn't dig a little deeper to uncover what really happened. Great move by the Twins grabbing him when they did. I'm really curious to see how he progresses, what a steal he could end up being.
  11. My ideal outfield does not include Arcia in RF. If the Twins decide to keep Willingham around for some added pop it should be as a bench bat and not at the expense of guys like Arcia, who ultimately needs to prove he can be the DH in the near future. However if Willingham is having a year similar to 2012 by July it would be awfully hard to not try and get something for him.
  12. This should be the only one you need, if you want to know what's happening with the Twins, you'll find it here. Don't be discouraged by some possible negative responses, I'm not sure when those might have been but the moderation has come a long way and we're pretty intolerant about members being disrespectful to one another. There is also the "report post" function which I would encourage you to utilize if you feel someone is stepping over the line. I think for the most part once you get involved and get a sense for where people are coming from you might enjoy posting more often, the discussions are always lively, interesting and more than a bit passionate at times.
  13. Wonder how the tan is doing these days?
  14. Memories....

  16. Great to have you aboard.
  17. Just be genuine and honest. As someone who hires dozens of people a year, it's easy to see when someone is just telling you what you want to hear instead of genuinely being themselves. You're clearly a very intelligent person, that won't be an impediment to impressing them. They want to know who you are, what you're about, to try to determine something about your character. Levi is right, all things being relatively equal, it's about the right person, not necessarily the right credentials. If you give them an opportunity to learn something about you, it sets you apart. Definitely be curious, they are going to want to know why you want to work for them and have it be for the right reasons. Having an answer for that requires knowing something about them. And yes, ask questions, people in charge love to talk about what they know. Good luck.
  18. Yep, definitely expands the rather thin choices for #42 over the years.
  19. Heh, heh, more Mauer, more better.
  20. I don't see any reason not to at least give Buxton at bats at the lower levels first. Let him see some better pitching, adjust and once he's dominating bring him up with confidence. I don't get the Gretzky analogy, are you referencing his age? The only reason Gretzky didn't start in the NHL was because the draft age was 20 at the time, not because he wasn't ready. He played in the WHA for 1 season , by the time he did reach the NHL with the WHA-NHL merger, the league had amended the draft age to 18, although he was technically never drafted. There was never a doubt he could play there, he certainly never played minor league hockey.
  21. You can't complain about snobby baseball fans and then be a beer snob at the same time, not allowed. And Summit is not over-rated, they have lots of great offerings.
