  1. They pick and choose what they want anyway, including anything that threatens them financially. The fact they never adopted the EMS and subsequently the Euro pretty much makes it moot to being with. There are numerous issues within the EU organisational structure, Britain just keeps exacerbating them and pretty much acts on it's own accord anyway. If it allows the EU to fix what's broken, then it may be of some benefit, that's all.
  2. Meh, Britain has always been a reluctant member of the EU to begin with, it doesn't use the Euro, regularly opts out of major agreements and has had an obstructionist approach almost from the beginning. Simple fact is the English simply don't trust the rest of Europe when it comes to their Sovereignty. This isn't surprising and is a probably a benefit to the EU more than anything. It's a broken organisation, maybe this is finally what it needs to right itself.
  3. Exactly, this conversation completely sidesteps the teams almost utter failure in identifying and developing effective arms, not just cheap ones.
  4. So TR decides over the winter the pen is good enough and full enough of bottled lightning to roll into 2016 and by May 6th has released, Fien, O'Rourke and Graham. WTF?
  5. As noted above, depending on Perkins and Jepsen and hoping you continue to roll with guys like Fien and O'Rourke, while adding guys who are effective bargains purely because they happen to be hitting above their already meagre weight class for the time being, isn't what I'd call an effective bullpen strategy. Jared Burton may serve as a good example that you can sometimes turn straw into gold but it's no cause for TR thinking he's Rumpelstiltskin.
  6. Whoa, whoa, wait, did I just see a Twins catcher throw out a runner? I'm not hallucinating?
  7. Identified the '86 team as needing bullpen help and went out and got it for '87. Imagine that, revolutionary!
  8. Trading Zuke and Plouffe are no brainers and if we can cash in on Dozier at this stage it probably is as well. Not sure how these guys playing well is a bad thing, other than this is the Twins we're taking about here.
  9. 2500:1 you say? Get your bets in people, here we come!!
  10. Hmm, never been. We had a couple of Outback's here a few years back but they never took off and went out of business.
  11. Semantics really.
  12. No, that's why this is the "what they should do" thread. Look for the "what they should have done" thread minutes after the move is announced.

  14. I'm pretty particular when it comes to onions, I don't like them in a lot of things some people insist they be in, salad for instance. They do belong in a ring of batter and deep fried however, not particular about that. Eclairs are pretty good, although it's hard to find a really good one.
  15. Yes but he looks shorter because he's so fat. .....or so I've been told.
  16. Thanks but I've had my fill....
  17. Well to be fair, meatballs are delicious.
  18. Duffy is a fringe major leaguer to begin with, he keeps hanging curves and he's in my beer league.
  19. Agreed, it's a double edged sword, or is it a mixed blessing?
  20. Elbow down, looking like he needs to take a......whoops, family show.
  21. Lovin' your positive vibes tonight brother!
