  1. Very interesting! Of all the simulated games this seems most realistic & less player, team bias. Cleveland has a very easy beginning of the season series so it`s no doubt they are undefeated. We are doing well, we only need to be patient & we`ll come out on top. It`d be interesting to see the standings & stats. Donaldson is starting slow but he`ll eventually catch on fire
  2. Pranks are part of baseball culture which helps make the sport more enjoyable. I really liked this article about how the Grapefruit League supposingly got its name. I always enjoy a clean prank & thought that maybe if anyone hasn`t seen this article should read it to uplift your spirits. https://www.mlb.com/news/wilbert-robinson-caught-grapefruit-from-a-plane?partnerId=zh-20200314-156906-47943&query_id=1026&bt_ee=0AJOWHOkIP8cUt6DanJjHpkdRTWGpW9f7XRQujUm2BcCowmweU%2B49BppEGE0BOKO&bt_ts=1584189814469
  3. I we get them while they`re down & get some revenge time
  4. I was torn between the 2 who was the best but Lewis has come out on top IMO. Because of his athleticism, he plays the important positions where the Twins are short in depth in CF & SS. Kiriloff plays less important corner outfield & 1B where we have an abundance of quality options. Lewis had a great AFL & now he`s tinkering on his swing again, when he figures it out he`ll be great.
  5. Looks like NYY is smart enough to be interested in Archer. Why couldn`t the Twins have taken advantage of the opportunity that was theirs for the taking? Archers up side is top of a rotation. Why do the Twins chase after these losers?
  6. You know when I 1st got married, I was looking at older homes, some were terrible but others had good foundations & well built to buy. I could look at a house & see the potential of that house. I knew a lot of friends that did fantastic jobs on old homes. I`d dream of little projects that could really make those houses great but all my wife could see was mess & dirt. Needless to say we never bought any old homes. The point I`d like to make is some are seers others are not. There are some who see things which I cannot, which I respect. I see Archer breaking out this year, if I were FO my 1st external deal would be call Sheldon & say let`s get this done.At that time some valued Severino as a trade for Archer ,now it`d take Rosario because more people are starting to see his potential. Some can look at some bad stats & say the player is broken & sometimes they are right but some can eye a player w/ bad stats & see some greatness just needs some work on mechanics, mindset or etc. I have faith in our pitching coach & staff hopefully they have a say in who they can get to work on so it`s up to them. But I still like to look at old houses
  7. It`s nice to have money like NYY to be able buy expensive, proven, developed, polished players. These exceptional players I will convey them as "diamonds". Most teams have to settle for what`s left over in FA or try to scout, draft, develop & trade for prospects that have great potential to become "diamonds" or what I`ll call "diamonds in the rough". They are & should be valued & hard to come by because teams don`t want to give them up. Some get lucky get a prospect which quickly shine & develop into stars other prospects need a lot of patience. Stars like Cruz & Donaldson developed later in life. When a "diamond in the rough" has a set back & develop slower some teams & fans are ready to devalue & dispense of them which normally proves regrettable. Of course a true evaluation is needed to determine if indeed you have a diamond or a lump of coal. But once it`s determined you have to be patient. I believe Romero could be a "diamond in the rough". Pertaining to pitching teams like Cleveland & LA have a system to eye & develop "diamonds in the rough". Cleveland like us are low market they never are buyers of "diamonds" but always sellers, which produces resources to obtain more "diamonds in the rough". LA & Cleveland hold onto their "diamond in the roughs". This is what I aspire for the Twins, w/ Wes Johnson to obtain & develop these "diamonds in the rough" where we have a steady influx of aces & cull out when needed. We need to hold onto our "diamonds in the rough" like LA so I was disappointed when we traded Graterol. LA really develop their pitchers so when you get a pitcher from them, they aren`t much up side for improvement. On the other hand a team like PIT does not, so a pitcher from them, there is a lot of up side for improvement. Therefore a pitcher like Archer I am very high on. He could have been very cheap but now his stock is constantly rising. People look at him & say look at his stats even at Tampa they weren`t that impressive. At Tampa, everyone saw his potential so PIT got him & couldn`t develop him. With new coaching at PIT, Archer will take off but not as much as if we had him here at MN, he should have been pursued. Jon Gray is another "diamond in the rough" which his stats don`t show his true value. At Colorado the ball really carrys so they stress GP% & pitchers are limited to that style. MN has a lot of very good pitching prospects but I featured Romero, Graterol, Archer & J Gray because they are under valued. Although I enjoy watching "diamonds" pitch, I get excited about "diamond in the rough" because that`s where the greatest value & opportunities lay.
  8. Berrios & Odorizzi are the bright spots of our rotation! We expect a very good year from both of them
  9. Next year will be interesting. I hope Lewis takes that big step this year, we are weak in depth up the middle & his athleticism would solve a lot of problems. The way things are right now is Lewis get called up as an super utility player
  10. I see both get plenty of playing time. If Astudillo is able to be more discipline at the plate, I see him breaking camp on the roster. Astudillo is more flexible, it`s great to have a 3rd catcher & he`s a great contact hitter. Cave could start on many teams & given the chance, could be pretty good
  11. I was trying to write in Portuguese but it would translate in part to English
  12. Muito Obrigado, e ben vindo para TD! Eu tambem ficei passionate com Johan Santana or primeiro tempo eu assistir ele. Ele e` meu lancedor favorito do o historia do Twins
  13. Muito Obrigado!
  14. Does my heart good to see these sacrifices to maintain this wonderful & wholesome culture into the family community. Many times they are under-valued & ignored then society suffers
  15. I heard that there`d be a lot of 1st class college pitchers in this draft. If that`s the case it`d be nice to have another shot at one
  16. I`ve heard that there`ll be a lot of high quality college pitchers in this draft. If that`s true, it`d be nice to have another shot one
  17. The Twins are the good guys helping these big market big spenders out of their problems. We don`t need this trade! We can do better else where w/o wasting a high ML ready pitching prospect. We won`t regret walking away now! If we continue this limbo is not healthy for this team & we`ll regret it! Please FO do us proud!
  18. Just to remind everyone; last year, Gibson had just gotten over e coli & battled colitis the rest of the year & Perez was not considered as a pure starter but more of a reliever who wanted to start. But yet both pitched several more innings than healthy pure starter Odorizzi. They both pitched phenomenally until they ran out of gas. If they were limited innings like Maeda, their stats would be much better than his. Records show that Maeda`s efficiency drops off drastically w/ batters 3rd time around. I`m tired of Gibson & Perez bashing. Sorry, I was more optimistic w/ last year`s non contending rotation than this year`s contending
  19. Welcome, Oregontwin! My thoughts too!
  20. By the way I don`t give a d*** (dime) either
  21. To me MN has nothing lose either way. Hopefully if this doesn`t go thru for MN, they will approach Graterol differently selling him as a promising young ace (as he is) that they can be use as an opener & occasionally as a reliever (like Maeda) now, besides giving him opportunity to work on his secondary pitches w/o giving him too many innings in the minors. We can even find another #3 starter w/ even more upside w/o using primarily our pitching prospects Actually after all this display I hope it does go thru for everybody concerned
  22. Thank you everyone who contributed to this blog! You all convinced me that this dream will probably come later than sooner.
  23. Last year CO inch away from SD for last place by 1 game. This year SD has done much more in improving their team CO has done nothing & no really great prospects coming up. I like the core of CO players very much but odds are they`ll end up in last place. I like Marquez , He is an establish pitcher & will be very expensive. Gray is not so he`ll be more reasonably priced. I believe Gray will greatly improve away from CO, therefore providing more bang for the buck It`ll be very interesting how this will unravel
  24. The 2017 Twins FO traded some important players (believing they didn`t have a chance) the team came back & got in the play offs. The difference from Colorado today is that their GM Jeff has his a## on the line (he made some bad deals) & `17 Twins just came in & wanted to clean house. For them make the right call, they may have to fire Jeff
  25. That`s what I`m saying. I know that the Rockies don`t want to give up their play off hopes. But for the Rockies get someone like Kris Bryant in exchange for Arenado is very unlikely. If the Rockies can`t compete w/ Arenado (one of the best 3B if not the best) they certainly can`t compete w/o him. The Rockies are strapped for money thru the Arenado contract & some bad deals they can`t go out & get FAs they don`t have the farm to go out & trade. I see them similar to Pittsburgh in this respect. Sooner or later they`ll have to wake up & see what everyone already knows that they won`t compete this year or in the future until they rebuild. To rebuild they need to trade for prospects & believe Jon Gray will be 1 of the 1st.
