    Griffin Jax looks better every year. He looks as dominant as any pitcher in baseball.

    Ty France and Jose Miranda crack me up on foul ball pop ups. They just turn and take a slight jog and watch the ball drop. Meanwhile, Vladdy Guerrero, not exactly a tiny fellow, cruises after those balls and catches them. Ah, but it is Spring Training.

    If Julien repeats 2023 there are going to be some very unhappy folks who comment on Twins Daily. Is Awkward Eddie the key to the 2025 season?

    In the complete other direction, it would be cool to see young Twins players wearing the numbers of past stars. Walker Jenkins sporting #7 and that sort of thing would be awesome. I'm not a fan of #64, #74, or #83. Of course it really doesn't mean too much. Wouldn't it be neat to see Luke Keaschall wearing #27 or Zebby Matthews in #28? In answer to the post I do hold up Johan as a superstar in Twins history but I'm thinking if Connor Prielipp or Dasan Hill could carve out a Johanesque career it should be in #57.

    Winokur is super athletic. He has a ton of skills to learn yet but if he can hit at the MLB level we should expect he settles at shortstop, centerfield, or third base.

    I really want to agree with your statement but when we watch the Twins first basemen it might be that is difficult for some players.

    One has to watch these "prospect" games with quite a bit of lattitude. The Blue Jays were at their home park in Dunedin showing fans the top pitching prospects and all of their top position players. Maybe things are different if Matthews, Morris, Soto, Prielipp, Raya, or even one of the top 30 Twins pitching prospects are in the game along with all of their top position players. The game was typical minor league style, some good and some "oh no". The idea is good.

    Remember that Gonzalez was the key to the Polanco trade. Someone put him in a top 100 list too. So I wondered quite a bit about him. It didn't take me one game watching to question the decision, but I did decide to watch him a dozen times. Who knows how Gonzalez was targeted? Maybe he becomes a Nelson Cruz DH. I can't see it.

    If you watch enough minor league or amateur baseball, it isn't unusual to see a pile of missed plays from time to time. I'm pretty slow to condemn the efforts and skills of younger and inexperienced players. One has to look at the potential much more. Whether the Twins care about defense is something well beyond my knowledge.

    Yes, of course. I was laughing thinking about Delmon in left field in a game in Milwaukee.

    Winokur shows his glove and arm on a ball deep in the hole. The tools are there. He has plenty to learn, but the athleticism is really exciting.

    Gabriel Gonzalez has a big arm and the Twins hope he hits, but he might be the worst outfielder in pro ball. He makes Delmon Young look like Andruw Young. I was shocked watching him last year.

    While it would be best if all of Correa, Buxton, and Lewis get off to a great start in March/April, there isn't any history to suggest their playing time or where they bat in the order changes. Wallner was sent back to AAA last year. Hopefully the Twins put some trust in him this year.

    I'm watching the game. Interesting mix of totally inexperienced and guys like Bloss (similar to Matthews, Festa).

    Yes, this is possible, but thus far Correa is the only guy on the roster capable of making that play. The Twins will need to play the guys they have but a few extra inches of stretch at first base would be huge for all Twins infielders except for Correa.

    Prielipp was incredibly dominant in some of his games last year as I watched via milb.com. Due to his history of arm injuries the Twins will almost certainly proceed slowly with him, which means strict limitations on pitch counts in the 40-70 range depending on if those pitches/innings are easy or more stressful. My guess is that the Twins will want to see Prielipp get through a half season without any issues before he is pushed above AA.
