  1. I know the topic has been raised before but in order to keep this discussion on topic. I created a new Market Size/Revenue Discussion Now back to the Broken System debate Go Twins!!!
  2. In my strange way of thinking. I always wonder how someone outside of the room writes an opinion about how things are done inside the room and it's quoted as gospel. Meanwhile when those inside the room speak... They are torn apart. I love bloggers and writers and I read them and enjoy a bunch of them but I don't understand how the things they type from outside the room seemingly carry more weight. I have no idea if Terry Ryan is better or worse than Neil Huntington... How could I. I know that I don't always agree with Terry Ryan but I refuse to disrespect him because he has a different idea than I do. Is the system broken? I don't know but I doubt it because water is still coming out of the tap.
  3. If Park hits 26... Then.... With health....I think Sano could eclipse 40 If Park fails... Then... With health.... Sano could lead the league in Walks.
  4. I've been misread I got Park at 170 and the rest of the team hitting 36 for 206 total. You must agree that is much more realistic.
  5. I like the Park dice roll. I've never worried about log jams. I actually like log jams and feel they are something to strive for. I think the Twins are hoping Park can provide big bat protection for Sano. I hope they are right and it forces Gladden to come up with a home run call.
  6. Chief... Dude... I'm not sure where this negative attitude is coming from? Park hits 170 and the team hits 206 and we all blame Mauer. You just gotta believe.
  7. I think we should start a "Hope Lefty is wrong" club. Meet on Thursday Nights... Low membership fees. Hot Dish... Beer and someone to record the minutes so it seems official.
  8. I don't know anything more than most people but if I were to a place a bet. I'd bet on May becoming the next Twins Closer before I'd bet on him returning to the rotation. I've lost bets before but I've won a couple. Who knows but I wouldn't be surprised if May is in the pen as long as he's in a Twins uniform and... And... He was pretty good in that role and I'll be ok with that.
  9. Who knows what these guys will be at age 33 or 36 or whatever. For 2016... In my opinion... The Indians need some power and Chris Davis was the premeire power hitter in free agency. I'd have went for it but it's easy for me to say because I'm typing those words from my living room with no responsibility at all. About Chris Davis... I'll say this... He has easy power like no other in the league. I've seen him flick balls over the wall on multiple occasions. If I had to bet on anyone maintaining his power stroke late into 30's ala David Ortiz. Chris Davis would be the guy I'd put money on. About the Indians... My main point is that they should have done more to acquire some power. If not Davis... somebody else in addition to Napoli. Cespedes? Upton? Someone... Because that pitching staff is to good to wait for youngsters to mature.
  10. I could be wrong but I think the Twins depth across the board is our primary strength. My prayer is that Molitor and Ryan know exactly how to use it.
  11. LOL... I appreciate, respect and welcome the White Sox poster and Look forward to more intelligent and respectful posts in the future. Seems like a likable decent individual who is a fan of a team that I absolutely hate. Boos from me to the White Sox forever!!!
  12. Obviously... every team needs a superstar big bat but some more than others. The Twins are trying to add some power and protection for Sano with the addition of Park. If Park fails or gets hurt we have Arcia and Vargas to try and become that guy. The Indians don't have that kind of power potential. I'd be taking a long look at Pedro Alverez right now if I were them Because they need some insurance. Santana and Napoli and after that... ? With that pitching staff... They need to go for it.
  13. The Indians pitching... Starting and pen is fantastic and it should keep them contending. They really need a superstar big bat to aid the offense. If I was GM and the owner let me do what I want. I would have been after Chris Davis. And I would have picked up Napoli as well. The Indians have depth issues in the power department. They are a key injury away (Santana or Napoli) from needing to become a speed team and they don't have enough speed to do that.
  14. I'm a Brian Dozier Fan but I'd rather have the Frazier/Lawrie combo over Plouffe/Dozier. The Twins top the White Sox in youth, depth and SS. Everything else is a push or a clear (on paper) White Sox advantage. I've often thought... If the White Sox fix their defense... look out. Frazier and Lawrie and Saldano firms up the infield nicely. If they get Fowler for the OF. Bullpen become their only weakness. I refuse to look past them
  15. Strong starting pitching and improved defense. I refuse to look past them.
  16. While I'm disappointed to hear he was battling blurriness at the plate and feel it was incredibly dangerous. The way we fans reacted to his bi-lateral leg weakness... I wouldn't blame him for staying quiet. Nobody willingly walks towards a gang with pitchforks.
  17. If Rosario struggles... I won't care as much as I did when Hicks was struggline because I like the way he plays the game. He's the type of player who can find a way to help you win even if he struggles at the plate. You can give him some extended rope to sort through things.
  18. In my opinion. The Twins have two things to do and they haven't done them yet. CF -- I love Buxton and I hope that Buxton will be great someday. Based on last year... he has some things to learn first. If Buxton is starting in CF on opening day. It might work but even if it works. It'll show me that they haven't learned a valuable lesson that should have been learned after multiple years of giving Hicks the starting job with no safety net. A decent place holding CF should have been acquired. Bullpen -- We have enough starting pitching options but all of our starting pitching options are not decent enough to believe that the bullpen isn't going to be leaned on hard. The Twins needed a LH Pen piece and signing Abad isn't going to cut it. I understand that we have hard throwing farm hands and I understand the price for pen has gone up. It doesn't matter right now... The Twins need to pay the price. 2 Needs unmet thus far. Doesn't mean we can't win it but it does mean that the needs have been unmet thus far.
  19. I will ask for Patience and try to keep myself composed. However, I have asked for Patience before and usually by the time I ask it... It's just too late and won't do me good any more.
  20. Using Escobar as an example. If Santana didn't need replacing... Escobar may still be rummaging around LF but Santana needed replacing so it worked out. My thinking is that Sano would replace whoever needs replacing. Park may struggle with the size of american baseballs and big hard sliders. Mauer might get hurt. Plouffe may get traded... or play much less because Sano's bat plays bigger than Plouffe's glove. These things just work themselves out. Unless he's Delmon Young.
  21. If Sano ends up being terrible in the OF. I have a feeling that the Twins will stop playing him in the OF. I'm really not worried at all.
  22. They do It just doesn't take on some people. I was on stage with a hypnotist once. He suggested to me that everything I touched was freezing cold. I walked off the stage with total control of my actions. However later that night... when I touched my wife. Wow... It must have kicked in later. I hope that happens with Dozier.
  23. These are my thoughts on Dozier exactly. What are you doing in my head? The sky is the limit if he ever learns to go the other way.
  24. I think Dozier is one of the top defensive 2B in baseball. I also think he should take more games off.
  25. The Twins clearly wanted a catcher that would be around for awhile. Otherwise an Avila would have kept them floating for a year. Murphy must have been an attempt at a longer term solution. I just hope they are right.
