Things change fast in this business. A team that started 0-9 can go 3-0 on a dime. A team that was flush with Middle Infielders can all of sudden be down to the bare minimum in the blink of an eye. It's abrupt... and a reason to put on a neck brace and call your personal injury lawyer because of the whiplash. We can sue the Twins... They are clearly at fault.1. Riverbrian's Lineupology -- I've decided that my Thought #1 is going to be my lineup from now on out. My reasoning for this is simple: first off all... I have no problem being wrong and have been wrong often enough to not think less of myself; and perhaps most importantly, I'm putting my lineup out there just in case Paul Molitor reads it and thinks to himself, "You know... that Riverbrian is a sharp cookie... I'm gonna use his lineup today." DISCLAIMER: BELOW IS NOT THE REAL LINEUP UNLESS IT IS THE LINEUP BY COINCIDENCE. 3B Nunez 1B Mauer RF Sano DH Park 2B Dozier LF Arcia SS Escobar C Suzuki CF Buxton or Kepler 2. The Plouffe Injury -- This is potentially one of the most interesting baseball boo-boo's in quite some time... a perfect confluence of events. Santana is on the DL until next Monday at least. The Twins called up Kepler and not Polanco to replace Santana. And now with Plouffe potentially hurt and for now DTD, only 4 healthy Twins on the 25 Man Roster have actual experience playing 2B,3B and SS and one of those 4 is named Sano. So... if at sometime tonight... either Nunez, Escobar or Dozier comes down with a boo-boo of sorts, Molitor will have no choice but to move Sano over to 3B... something Molitor said during the off season that he would not consider doing in 2016. I kinda hope it happens because I don't like my manager making blanket absolute statements like that. The quicker you force a manager to do something he wasn't planning on doing, the quicker he gets better at his job. 3. 3:00PM Flight Today -- There is American Airline flight from ROC to MSP that will arrive at 6:23PM Today. It has a 55 minute layover at O'Hare which leaves enough time to eat a Chicago Style Dog at one of the terminals. It will cost the Twins $309. Just in case... Polanco is needed. And... and... Kepler can get on a flight to Rochester tomorrow morning at 9:25AM and have a 50 minute layover at O'Hare for $211. ChiTown can stop by and say "Hi" to both of them if they let her through security. 4. The Brewers -- They have a Santana on the roster... they have an Arcia knocking on the 25 man roster door... they have a Berrios on the 60 day DL... they have a couple of starting pitchers in the rotation with Minnesota names like Nelson and Anderson. They have ex-Twins... Garza, Boyer, Zach Jones, Josmil Pinto and Alex Presley in various locations of the organization. Yep... the Brewers are another example of how badly Milwaukee and the state of Wisconsin really wants to be Minnesota instead. 5. Wise -- I was told by someone sober over the weekend that I was a "Wise Man." He then said, "Guy... I meant Guy... not Man... Guy." I now have to see a neck specialist because of the whiplash that occurred. -------------------- Actual lineups: BREWERS Santana RF Gennett 2B Braun DH Lucroy C Carter 1B Hill 3B Nieuwenhuis CF Villar SS Flores LF Anderson P TWINS Nunez 3B Dozier 2B Mauer 1B Sano RF Arcia LF Park DH Escobar SS Suzuki C Buxton CF (Brian was close, but no cigar.)
